Chapter 221 - 221 Ch. 221 The Mysterious Girl Again
221 Ch. 221 The Mysterious Girl Again
Satisfied with holding Richard’s hand, Yang Guang let go of the man’s hand and ran when he saw someone walking towards him. “Nanny!”
“Xiao Guang, how many times have I told you not to leave the house without an adult? What if you get lost?”
“I’m sorry.” Yang Guang lowered his head like a child who regretted what he had done was bad.
“Hello,” Anxia greeted the young woman in her mother tongue while holding Lori and Louis by the hand so they wouldn’t run around. “Please, don’t be mad. He was a sweet child.”
“Are you the one accompanying him?” the woman asked while stroking the top of Yang Guang’s head.
“Yes. My daughter likes to be friends with him.”
The nanny looked at Lori with a complicated look before finally deciding to say goodbye and take Elliot home. “Thank you for the hospitality, but we have to go now.”
Yang Guang waved his hand at Anxia and Richard; for some reason, the boy’s eyes looked unwilling to part with them.
“What a strange child.” That was Richard’s short comment as he watched Yang Guang’s back disappear along with his nanny.
.....
“You are right. He also held my hand when you weren’t back.”
“He did? How did it feel?”
“It was weird… but it was pleasant. You?”
“I don’t know. But I can’t deny that I wish I could see him again.” Even Richard himself was surprised by his willingness to see the boy. He knew the boy was special, but couldn’t find what kind of special the boy was.
“Alright! It’s time to go home. Are you satisfied playing here?” Anxia asked the two small children, who were still holding her hand while showing a friendly smile.
“Okay! Can we come here again tomorrow?”
Lori’s question made Anxia chuckle, “We’ll see.” Then the four of them walked together to the parking lot to take Louis home first before they returned to their homes.
When they arrived at the parking lot, Anxia suddenly felt the world was calling her, and she had the urge to go to the toilet.
“Richie, I’m going to the nearby washroom for a minute.”
“I told you not to eat much ice cream and drink juice.”
Anxia only gave her husband an innocent smile, then immediately ran to find the nearest toilet.
Richard just shook his head and let Lori and Louis jump up the little steps that led to his car. They climbed up and down as if their energy was boundless.
While watching the two kids, his phone vibrated, and he realized Thijs was calling him. After putting the Bluetooth headset into his ear, Richard received his assistant’s call.
“How is it? Is there a solution?”
In the meantime, Anxia breathed a sigh of relief as soon as she emptied her bladder. Richard was right—she drank too much ice cream, recalling she bought another nearby ice cream after she finished the second one. Not to mention, she bought a watermelon and avocado juice, and she finished them all.
Anxia didn’t know whether it was because she laughed too much that caused her to be thirsty easily or because she yearned for a son that she could never have, making her restless and wish to swallow all her uneasiness with the drink.
Anxia washed her hands in one of the sinks when an unknown girl came out of the lavatory stall. She didn’t care about the girl, but her eyes reflexly sneaked a glance and noticed it was someone she had seen before.
“Didn’t we meet before?”
The girl didn’t answer and only gave a crooked smile without glancing at Anxia. “You’ve got quite a sharp memory. That’s right; we met at Heinest’s residence once.” The girl shifted her eyes to look straight at Anxia. “Nice to see you again, Qiao Anxia.”
“Who are you? And how did you know that phrase?”
“What do you think?”
“Do you know my mother?”
The girl didn’t answer her right away and just gave her a fake smile. “If you’re curious, how about you come with me? Maybe you will find your answer there.”
“Am I going to like this place?”
“Who knows?”
“Where is it?”
The girl shook her head. “If you want to come with us, you have to leave your family here.”
In other words, Anxia had to abandon Richard, Lori, and everything else she gained after she married Richard. Anxia snorted in sarcasm and believed this girl was crazy. Why would she leave her husband and daughter to follow a stranger whose origins are unknown?
Even though this girl could be the only clue to finding her mother’s location, Anxia still didn’t want to leave her current family. Besides, no one could guarantee that her mother was still alive.
“Never mind. I’m not that curious either.” Anxia decided to leave, but the girl blocked her path.
“You wouldn’t say that once you saw this.” The girl showed Anxia a phone which showed a photo containing… paper? “Keep a look at it, and you’ll know.
Anxia sighed and took the phone to see the paper written in… Russian?
It had been a long time since Anxia had read Russian writing, so it took Anxia some time to understand the script. Her forehead furrowed as she began to catch the meaning of the writing, and she swiped the screen to see the next image.
Her eyes widened when she saw a man lying unconscious on a bed, and his body was filled with breathing apparatus and life support. She would not react if it were someone else, but the older man was someone she recognized.
“Th… This… what happened?”
“He has been in a coma for years. It’s a miracle he’s still alive until now. Maybe... he’s waiting for you?”
Anxia held her mouth with one hand, and her eyes filled with tears. Then she swiped the screen one more time, and it was then that she saw the face of the person she wanted to meet the most.
Anxia glanced at the girl again with an angry look, and she tried to hold back from choking the girl’s neck.
“I knew you wouldn’t be able to take your eyes off the two of them. This is for you.” The girl passed something like a syringe to him. “You know what you should do, right?”
“You want me to kill him?”
“Don’t worry. It’s not poison. We wouldn’t want anybody to track you, would we? Good luck.”
Anxia gripped the syringe so hard that she almost broke it in half.
It must be a trap to lure her out so Master Yu could catch her. She decided to throw the syringe, but her heart faltered the moment her eyes caught another image.
