A Regressed Villain: Heroines, Villainesses and Me?

Chapter 57: Chapter 59 - Mutual Benefit

Inside the corridor leading to the director's office, through the main building, a man walked while getting the attention of several students, as his silver hair attracted a few glances from the female students, considering that his facial features were somewhat attractive.

'What was her ability again?' Avendial, calmly walking towards the director's office while holding the book belonging to the classes he had just attended, tried to recall his memories regarding Amrita, wanting to remember what kind of awakened abilities she possessed.

But after thinking clearly, he found that there had been no instances where Amrita used any abilities, considering that she had even been killed by someone he had sent after her. He had not even been able to see her last struggle to understand if she possessed any ability.

However, considering the way Lin and others in his group treated Amrita as if she were a treasure, he concluded that her awakened ability must be something that could be very useful for them. For that reason, he decided to put her aside for now on the waiting list.

"Oh, Mar—I mean Professor Aven, how was your day?" the Director, who had just arrived at the door of his office, glanced toward Avendial, moving in his direction. The director, holding a cane, had a mustache that appeared dominant above his old physique.

"Hello, Director, it was really a good experience," Avendial nodded as he greeted the director, whom he had seen after three or four hours, though of course, without halting for formalities, he directly moved inside the director's room, leaving the director hanging outside. The director coughed, feeling awkward, and also followed behind.

"Don't come inside," Avendial gestured with his hand toward the director, who halted and gave him a blank look, remembering that just moments ago, even Aecilia had done the same and had sent him away from his own room. And now it was Avendial who did the same.

'It's my room, though,' the director thought as he lowered his gaze before turning away from the room, really feeling that he had been thrown out of his own room in a way where he couldn't even retaliate, given that those who had taken it were far more influential even for someone like him.

"Have you slept well, Miss Aecilia?" Avendial, with a steady step, entered before slowly opening the door. The first sight that greeted him was Aecilia seated on the sofa with her head supported by her hand as if in a deep sleep. She slowly let one eyelid slide up, revealing a deep golden hue as she looked towards the man who had arrived after a whole two hours.

"Indeed, it was somewhat comfortable here," Aecilia replied with a calm voice while her eyes glanced toward the sofa near her, where Rihane sat with a blank look and a contracted physique—joint legs with clasped hands buried in it while her eyes were fixed downward—a after-effect of spending two hours in the presence of Countess Aecilia Sertsul.

"I see. Then will you not want to go on a walk outside with me?" Avendial tossed his suit onto the sofa, then took a seat. His white shirt, matching his hair, sparkled in the sunlight coming through the office window. As he looked at her with his deep blue eyes, it felt like he was hinting at a proposal for something he was about to ask her to do.

"First tell me what you want," Aecilia, already having been dragged by him two times—first he dragged her on the pretext of a date in a free city, second he dragged her to the academy on the pretext of a long drive and then left her hanging inside this room for two hours—was not going to be tricked again with some fake promises.

"I want you to provide me with information about the noble family to whom Lin Diego belonged and the story behind his mother's marriage," Avendial clearly stated without hiding anything as he looked toward Aecilia with a smile, noticing her frown. He felt that he might need to first provide her with some compensation.

"It will take a few days," Aecilia nonchalantly replied, neither rejecting the proposal nor showing any eagerness, considering how he might view her as a pushover if she, just like before, called and used the Sertsul family's connections to obtain the information with a single call.

"Let's go on a date," Avendial, with closed eyes, smiled. Seeing through her demeanor, he understood that he couldn't always make her do the work for him, prompting him to decide to entertain her in a proper way and provide her exactly what she wanted, even if it just meant for him to act for a moment.

And then this was just a mutual deal, where she would bring him information and he would entertain her for a moment.

"Really?" Aecilia narrowed her gaze with her folded hands, looking at him with suspicion, trying to understand where he was going to take her on the pretext of a date. Not expecting much, she started to slowly stand.

'D-date?!!!' Rihane, who just heard Avendial's words toward Aecilia, felt as if she had just heard a secret and believed even more in Aecilia's words where she told her to keep an eye on the enemies of the Marquess. Her lowered gaze showed the slight tremble as she clenched her fist, understanding that these two were, 'they are in love!!!'

Of course, that was definitely her own perspective.

Given that she had been in conversation with Aecilia Sertsul for two hours, it appeared she was influenced by her perspectives. She also generated a deteriorated perspective of the situation, where she was the only one inside the room who even thought of the two having some relationship.

After all, Aecilia knew that he was just entertaining her because he wanted her to do some work for him.

"I never lie." With those words, and following Aecilia's movement, Avendial also stood from his position before lifting his suit and draping it over his shoulder, with one hand resting in his pocket as he made his way out of the office room.

With those words, both of them left the director's room while Aecilia moved forward at the front, while Avendial followed behind her. Both of them were attracting the gazes of several students.

Now that it was time for all of them to leave their classes, most of them were available on campus, making their way out of the academy. As if it were the first time they saw someone appearing this charming in real life.

"Hey, look over there."

"Oh my, are they celebrities?"

"Click a picture; isn't she beautiful?"

"Shhh, idiot!"

One after another, several moments started to fill the campus as the students walking in the path looked in the direction of Avendial and Aecilia. Naturally, not all the students, but a few of them were enchanted at the sight of seeing someone this charming for the first time.

Naturally, it was not that there weren't any beautiful or charming individuals inside the academy, but the confident aura and the cool demeanor surrounding these two individuals were what made the students glance in their direction while a few of them even clicked images.
