Chapter 280 280: The Resistance Is Forming [Pt2]
"Uhm, calm down everyone. We should not overwhelm our guests by coming up to crown them. Now, give them some space."
The elder man who seemed to be the leader of the resistance said. He seemed worried that his newly acquired fish will leave his net and go on their merry ways. He did not want to lose these few people who had come out.
"L-Leader, you were here as well? When did you arrive?"
"I was already here. But that is not what's important. We should brief them on our plan of attack. We will be starting in a week."
The old man assured as he opened up his map. A week was not a lot of time and there seemed to be hundreds of things they needed to prepare.
Rita was hesitant to give them even her time of the day but there seemed to be no other choice available to her.
"Sean, take these new guests to where we sent our secret weapon. I am sure the administrator will not see our attack coming."
Rita had a feeling that the administrator had seen them coming but she was not worried about this attack.
Still, this was a good opportunity for them to make use of and save Aurora.
Sean, Rita's attacker, took them to the back room where their 'secret weapon' was stored and Rita was hesitant to go in.
She had a feeling that she might know who the person on the other side was.
"Oi, are you going to give us something to eat? I am hungry….."
Rita only looked quietly at Alexander's face before closing the door behind her. She no longer cared about the 'so-called secret weapon.'
"No, wait. What are you doing on this floor?"
Alexander looked surprised to see Rita there. But it was Rita who was even more surprised to see him.
"We are stuck on this floor for some time. But how did you come here this fast? Were you not supposed to be outside right now?"
Rita asked as she watched Quince put his guard up. He had recognized Alexander as a friend he once had.
But both of them ignored each other in the end.
"I am here because Lord Adam wanted to assist this floor. There is a secret behind the administrator which is tower-defining. What do you think it is?"
Alexander asked as Rita settled down beside him.
"Maybe something related to this? Open pages 15 to 20."
Quince send the file to Alexander who took the file with suspicious eyes. But once he opened the file, he looked stunned.
"T-This? Is this for real? Then, what are all the people trying to get to the bottom of this abyss for?"
Alexander asked as his anger boiled over. His mood had turned explosive all of a sudden and Rita took a step back from him.
"I now understand why Clove did not care about going deeper into the abyss but going for the cores all of a sudden. It's because they can reach the end floor anytime."
Alexander seemed to be having a new realization. His eyes seemed angry whatever he was thinking about but Rita was not concerned about any of it.
"Knock-Knock. Alexander, come back for now. Help us save Aurora first and then you can think about this document."
"What do you mean help Aurora out? What did she do not? No, never mind. Our backup forces will be here this week and Aurora can take care of things later on.

"How is our plan shaping up? You had a meeting with Lord Alan right now, right? Did you get what you went there for?"
Clove heard Asami's teasing words but she did not take them to heart. Asami was just a little annoyed at not being able to find the 'toy' she had lost.
According to Asami, she had found the most annoying but fun human she had ever laid eyes upon. But she has not seen him after that raid on the Rocx Academy.
With this tension added to the pressure and annoyance of Lady Dheva, Asami's mood was at an all-time low right now without any signs of it getting lifted.
Heck, Clove was even afraid of Asami abandoning her at a critical moment.
"Don't worry. Both Lord Alan and Seraphina agreed to give their cores away if we get Lady Minerva to escape without any harm. With that, we only lack three main cores."
Clove had calculated everything from the start to the end. But the main part was starting up now.
She knew where Aurora was but it was a shame that the floor of the administrator was where the entry to the end was located.
No one knew that but the reason administrator had been able to grow up this big was because she held a part of the abyss's final authority. The only overlooker that had been personally shaped by the abyss had given the administrator birth.
"Aurora has the final key inside her already. We just need to somehow get our hands on the final core. But where will we be able to find the final overlooker?"
Asami had a right to be worried.
The final overlooker, Horas was someone no one knew how to find. And once he disappeared he would not appear for some time.
"Don't worry. I know where Horas is. He will appear during the decisive battle against the administrator to kill her off and seal the last authority for the tower."
Clove remembered hearing about it once. She had instantly headed out to meet Horas but it had been too late by the time she reached the administrator floor. The abyss's battle had been over and done with.
What it had left behind was a hole for survival and an ever-lasting sadness. No one had been able to live on that floor for a long time afterward.
Even the original occupants of that floor had been shifted.
"Great, the world above the abyss is collapsing because the tower collapsed, and now even the world below is not safe. It truly is the image of the end we all envisioned."
Clove had nothing to say about it.
As someone who had fought hard to achieve this end, she should have been happy to see things go her way.
"Anyway, I am here to tell you that all the preparations have been done. Once the administrator goes down, we will have all the necessary ingredients to take the tower down. And as promised, I kept this news out of Lady Dheva's ears."
Clove was reassured after hearing this.
Knowing Lady Dheva and her unnatural obsession with the abyss, she would not have agreed to that thing. But Clove knew how important it was for the abyss to die today. Otherwise, it would become a curse for everyone.
"What about Zoe? Did she go back to her floors for final testing?"
Clove had given Zoe the final weapon they had to use. Zoe had gone back into the tower to gather the necessary energy.
"Yup, Zoe is gone so don't expect her to come back anytime soon. We should also get going now. The abyss will not look after itself."
Clove agreed with Asami and she also appreciated Asami's help. She was the most wonderful partner one could ask for.
"We will finally be rid of this monster in a month. This world will change forever but we will not be there to see it. Hopefully, nothing will happen to this earth when we are not here."
Zoe had a wistful look on her face as she looked out of the broken tower window. She did love this world but she could no longer support what it stood for.
"True. By the end of this week, Aurora will be freed and then we will all push her to make the final decision. The time would rewind to the time when the abyss had only just started as a small entity and everything would come to an end."
Clove was certain about that fact. Everything had a start and an end. The abyss had reached its cycle but to end it, one needed to stop it from starting.
Clove had been ten years old when the abyss had shown up first but this time she will neither gain immortality nor see the world win.
Even if it cost her Aurora, Clove would end the abyss's cycle because that was what Aurora deserved.
The center of the abyss shook, knowing that its end was coming. It could feel this world's desire to recover and to drive itself out. And the abyss also decided to leave for a new host.
As a parasite, its first instinct was to save itself. But he needed a host first. And how as better to carry its spread than the copy of the one who had brought him to this planet in the first place?
"You want me to bring Aurora here? I see, so it's finally time, right?"
Horas asked as he stood up. With that, the abyss had entered its final chapter on this planet.
