Chapter 392 Chip Control
Chen Yu's face showed no hint of panic; instead, his extended hand emitted a blue-white light that radiated from his body.
The blue-white light this time was very pronounced and lasted for a long time, startling Jin Lingsu who was nearby.
The sword in the middle-aged man's hand immediately shattered into fragments, and his body fell from mid-air.
In the next moment, his body temperature soared abruptly, and a copious amount of blood seeped from his mouth and nose.
Seeing this, the others were struck with panic, having never witnessed such a phenomenon.
Before they could react, the blue-white light from Chen Yu's body erupted instantaneously, and the violent force swept out, hurling everyone away.
They only felt the chips in their heads suddenly heat up, and the scorching temperature caused their blood to boil.
A few of the weaker ones fell to the ground, convulsing continuously; their skin turned soft and limp as if it were melting.
"Mr. Keluobai was right; there is indeed something strange about you, kid," said one of them. "You must have a high-end chip implanted in you."
Chen Yu's lips curled into an odd arc, and he walked over to one of the older individuals, lifting him up.
"Tell me, is my entry into the Knights of the Round Table a conspiracy brewed by those old fools, aiming to use me for experiments?"
Unexpectedly, the man was defiantly tight-lipped, not saying a word.
However, fear was evident in his eyes. It seemed he also wanted to reveal everything in exchange for his life, but the chip in his head wouldn't allow it.
If he spoke a word against Keluobai, the chip would detonate immediately, killing him.
Chen Yu too had access to the relevant information in his mind, so he didn't ask any more questions and turned to leave the place.
However, as he was leaving, he suddenly greeted someone by nodding his head toward them.
He was aware that Keluobai could see everything that happened here through satellite video.
And he knew that these people would be dealt with immediately after his departure.
Not long after Chen Yu and Jin Lingsu left, a violent explosion sounded from behind them. Find your next adventure on empire
Jin Lingsu, gripping the steering wheel, bore a gloomy expression.
"I never expected to encounter an assassination attempt as soon as we arrived. If we get to Dongming Canyon, we'll probably be eaten alive," she said.
Chen Yu didn't know what to say; it seemed his joining the Knights of the Round Table had brought a great deal of trouble.
Remembering Tong Ming's words, Chen Yu felt even more disdain; he really shouldn't have collaborated with the Childe Family.
The car drove on for a day and a night, and as evening approached, they arrived at a desolate expanse of the Gobi Desert.
All around were protruding yellow earth beams, a place that didn't look inhabited, yet the map indicated this was Dongming Canyon.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Chen Yu furrowed his brows, took a few steps forward with the map in hand, and used his system to fully scan the area.
Just then, he suddenly noticed an unusual stone moving in a valley not far away.
"Found it, over there!" he exclaimed excitedly, and jumped down.
Jin Lingsu was startled; after making sure Chen Yu was alright, she drove the car down the mountain path.
Upon reaching the entrance, Chen Yu took out the invitation he had received earlier and inserted a card from it into a small crevice in the moving stone.
The next moment, the doors thunderously opened.
A remarkably burly man walked out from within.
The fellow stood three meters tall, an astonishing height to behold.
"Were you invited here?"
The rough voice was deafening, making even Chen Yu's eardrums tremble.
"Yes!" Chen Yu handed over his invitation.
The man took the invitation and checked it, then pulled out two purple-red jade tokens from his person.
"These are identity tokens for Dongming Gorge. After you park your car in the parking lot, someone will guide you inside. Remember not to wander off. For the next three days, you can only stay in the underground market. If you leave that area, someone will take your life."
Chen Yu raised an eyebrow; he hadn't expected there to be so many rules here.
Following the man's directions, he parked the car in the parking area, and then a kind-looking middle-aged woman appeared nearby.
"Distinguished guests, welcome to Dongming Gorge. Please follow me."
The woman led Chen Yu and Jin Lingsu onto a sightseeing vehicle, and after passing through a long tunnel, they arrived at a place resembling a market.
The layout here was similar to the Knights of the Round Table's testing ground, both built underground.
But truly comparing the two, this place was much more humane than the Knights of the Round Table's facility.
"I would like to remind you once again, please do not wander off during the next three days. You can find anything on this street!"
Although the statement sounded like a reminder, it also felt like a threat to some degree.
Chen Yu did not say much, just nodded and then he and Jin Lingsu stepped onto the main street.
Even though it was underground, the street had everything one could wish for, with a dazzling array of shops.
The whole street was bustling, not at all like a dangerous place.
Chen Yu took a moment to adjust his breathing, then led Jin Lingsu to a nearby restaurant.
The people in the shop were very down-to-earth, serving up a basin of mutton to the two as soon as they arrived.
"This is your first time here, so consider this our complimentary treat. May I take your order for anything else?"
Having come all this way, Chen Yu was quite hungry, so he ordered a large variety from the menu.
"By the way, do you have any hotels or something like that here?"
The owner immediately pulled out a flyer from the side.
"There's an inn at the end of this street, they should still have rooms available."
Chen Yu nodded and didn't say much more, tearing off a piece of mutton and stuffing it into his mouth.
"Who would've thought even such greenhorns would come here, not afraid they won't make it back," said a burly man who suddenly sat down next to Chen Yu, rudely tearing off a piece of mutton.
Chen Yu's face showed his displeasure. "Friend, do we know each other?"
The man took out a blood-red jade token from his person.
"My name's Lu Dashan, I'm an old-timer in Dongming Gorge. I've seen everyone who comes here, but many of them end up dying here. You two seem so soft and frail; I fear you won't last long."
With those words, laughter spread throughout the restaurant, with gazes full of teasing directed at Chen Yu and Jin Lingsu.
However, most of their eyes were focused on Jin Lingsu.
Such a stunning woman was the center of attention wherever she went, let alone a place like this.
Lu Dashan reached out his hand, attempting to grab Jin Lingsu's cheek.
