An Extra’s Rise in an Eroge

Chapter 87 Samantha Hall

Nadia Mystic.

Her beauty was breathtaking, surpassing everyone in the room. Even in this world teeming with strikingly handsome men and beautiful women, she stood out—a perfect blend of grace and allure.

Yet, despite her unmatched beauty, she was merely a side character.

Why?

Because she wasn't one of Alex's harem members.

In the game, Nadia was always aloof, rejecting anyone who dared approach her. The story never delved into her past or personality. What made her so cold and distant was a mystery the game never answered, leaving players to speculate.

And now, here she was, seated beside me.

Why the hell is she here? I thought, my mind racing. Was this a coincidence, or something more deliberate?

As I mulled over how to break the ice without coming off as awkward or intrusive, the door at the front of the room swung open. The chatter died instantly.

Every gaze turned to the figure that entered—a stunning woman whose presence demanded attention.

Samantha Hall.

The homeroom teacher of the S-Class.

Her entrance was nothing short of theatrical. She strode in with a confidence, her high heels clicking sharply against the polished floor. Her voluptuous figure, accentuated by a form-fitting black dress, immediately stole the attention of every boy in the room. If any man remained indifferent, I would seriously question his masculinity.

Massive breasts complemented by a narrow, perfectly sculpted waist, and long, shapely legs that seemed to stretch for days. Her silky black hair cascaded down her back, catching the light with every step, while her blood-red eyes glimmered with a mix of authority and mischief.

And that smirk. It wasn't just a smile; it was a weapon, designed to disarm even the strongest of wills.

Though her beauty didn't necessarily surpass some of the female leads present in the room, her mature charm in a league of its own. It was a potent cocktail of allure and power—a combination that was downright hypnotic.

As Samantha stopped at the front of the class, she clapped her hands, her voice enhanced by magic.

"Clap. Clap."

"The show is over. Come back to reality," she said, her tone laced with amusement as her gaze swept over the mesmerized boys.

A ripple of awkward chuckles passed through the room as the boys quickly averted their gazes.

She surveyed us with a piercing look before continuing, "I'm Samantha Hall, and I'll be your homeroom teacher for the rest of the year."

Her tone was sharp but not unkind.

"Any questions?" she asked, her eyes scanning the room.

Not a single hand went up. The tension in the air was palpable.

"Good," she said with a smirk.

"Since today is your first day, I won't bore you with lessons," Samantha began.

A collective sigh of relief rippled through the classroom.

She smirked faintly at the reaction. "Instead, I'll be explaining your curriculum." With a flick of her fingers, a glowing hologram materialized at the front of the room. Lines of text shimmered into view, each detailing aspects of our coursework.

"On top of the basic courses in theory, combat, and magic, you'll need to select a minimum of three additional courses from the list provided. If you wish, you may choose more—up to all of them—but keep in mind that passing at least three is mandatory to graduate to the next year. Failure to do so will result in expulsion from the academy."

Her words hung in the air like a blade poised to drop.

A hand shot up. "Don't you mean we'll repeat the year if we fail?"

Samantha's smirk widened, almost predatory. "No. There is no repetition in this academy. If you fail, it simply means you're unfit to remain here. This isn't a place for mediocrity."

The room fell into a heavy silence.

Cassandra raised her hand next. "Where do we go to register for these courses?"

"Oh, you don't need to go anywhere," Samantha replied smoothly. "A form will be sent directly to your aetherpods after this session. You'll have until the end of the day to finalize your selections. Choose wisely, because once registered, there are no changes."

She let that sink in before continuing. "Now, moving on to the next part. Field assessments."

The tone of the room shifted instantly.

"Once a month, you'll be sent into dungeons to gain real-world experience against monsters," she stated matter-of-factly.

At the mention of dungeons, some of the weaker-looking students visibly paled.

"M-Ma'am," one of them stammered hesitantly. "Is it possible to skip the field training?"

Samantha's blood-red eyes narrowed, her expression hardening. "No. Every single one of you will participate in field training. You're not here to lounge around. You're here to become future warriors. If you're too much of a coward, you're welcome to leave now."

The student sank back into their seat, their face flushed with embarrassment.

Satisfied with the silence, Samantha resumed. "There will also be periodic assessments every three months. Your scores will determine your rankings, which will be updated accordingly. So don't think your spot in the S-Class is permanent. If you laze around, you'll be replaced. Complacency has no room here."

The gravity of her words pressed down on the students. Some sat straighter in their seats, while others exchanged uneasy glances.

Samantha clapped her hands again, pulling everyone's attention back to her. "Any questions?"

Alex raised his hand confidently.

"Go ahead," Samantha said, nodding at him.

"What will you be teaching us, ma'am?" Alex asked.

"I'll be handling the basics of combat," Samantha replied succinctly.

Luna raised her hand next, her gaze steady.

"Yes?" Samantha gestured toward her.

"What type of combat? I mean, will it involve swordsmanship, archery, spearmanship, or something specific?"

Samantha's lips curved into a faint smirk. "I think you've misunderstood. When I said 'combat,' I wasn't referring to weapon mastery or technique. Those will be covered in specialized classes. My role is to teach you how to deal with enemies in the most efficient way possible.

" "I'll be covering how to fight against various types of enemies. Different opponents have distinct attack patterns, weaknesses, and strengths. My role is to ensure you can recognize and counter them effectively. In my class, you'll learn skills like camouflage, ambush tactics, reconnaissance, disarming and planting traps, identifying threats, and more. It's about survival, adaptability, and victory—by any means necessary." Your journey continues at empire

Her words hung in the air, sinking into everyone's minds.

"Understood?" Samantha asked, her piercing red eyes scanning the room.

"Yes, ma'am," Luna said, her voice steady.

Samantha scanned the room one last time. "That's all for now. Your schedules will be sent to your aetherpods shortly. Welcome to the Arcane Academy. Do your best to survive it."

With that, Samantha turned toward the podium, her blood-red eyes sweeping over the class one final time, signaling the end of her introduction. Her commanding presence left the room in a charged silence.

As soon as she walked out, the classroom erupted into a flurry of discussion.

Alicia and Luna joined me, sliding into the row just ahead of mine. Alicia turned to face me, her eyes gleaming with curiosity.

"So, Arthur, what's your opinion of our homeroom teacher?" she asked.

"Beautiful," I said without hesitation, earning a roll of her eyes.

"Well, I can't argue with that," Alicia replied, "but I was asking about her personality."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Oh, her personality. Yes, yes. She seemed… strict," I said with a smirk.

"Exactly my thought," Alicia agreed, rolling her eyes slightly.

Luna leaned her elbows on the desk, her calm voice entering the conversation. "So, what courses are you thinking of choosing?"

"I haven't made any firm decisions yet," I admitted. "But I'm leaning toward elemental magic, spirit magic, and weapon mastery. I still need to check the specifics before finalizing. What about you two?"

Luna tilted her head slightly, considering. "I'm thinking about elemental magic as well, but I'm not sure about the others yet."

Alicia grinned, leaning closer to me. "I'm definitely taking elemental magic too, so we'll be in the same class." She hugged my arm teasingly before continuing, "I'm also taking business management—it'll help me with my family business. I think Cedric will probably pick that one too. As for the third... I'm still deciding."

"Well," I said, gently untangling myself from Alicia's playful grip, "we have the whole day to finalize our choices. Let's go over the details and make informed decisions."

They both nodded in agreement, and the conversation shifted to lighter topics as we settled in, waiting for our schedules to arrive.

Meanwhile, Nadia sat quietly, her icy demeanor unbroken as she listened to our chatter.

Alicia, ever the cheerful one, turned her attention to her. "Hello! I'm Alicia. Nice to meet you!"

Alicia, ever the cheerful one, leaned forward and greeted her with a warm smile. "Hello! I'm Alicia. Nice to meet you."

Nadia turned to her briefly and replied curtly, "Hello. I'm Nadia." Her tone was cold, but it lacked any trace of hostility.

As soon as Nadia mentioned her name, I caught a subtle change in Luna's demeanor. Her expression faltered for the briefest moment before she masked it with her usual calm. It was quick—too quick for most to notice—but I wasn't the only one who caught it. Nadia's sharp eyes flicked toward Luna briefly before returning to Alicia, saying nothing.

"Why are you sitting alone?" Alicia asked, her head tilting slightly. "Don't you have any friends?" Alicia asked bluntly, her cheerful tone softening the impact of the question.

"No," Nadia replied simply, her voice as chilly as ever.

"Well, don't worry! We can be your friends," Alicia said, her smile radiant and sincere.

Nadia raised a brow, as if skeptical of Alicia's boundless optimism, but before she could respond, I added, "Yeah, we were about to explore the other courses before deciding which ones to take. Would you like to come with us?"

Nadia's icy eyes flicked toward Luna before she spoke. "I have no problem, but is your friend okay with it?"

Luna's posture stiffened, and she faltered slightly. "Wh...what could be a problem with me? I...I have no problem," she stammered, her voice lacking the usual composure.

Nadia didn't press further, but her eyes lingered on Luna for a beat longer than necessary.

"See? She has no problem!" Alicia said cheerfully, completely missing the hesitation in Luna's tone. "Let's go!"

I sighed internally, noting the tension. I'll need to talk to Luna about this later. For now, it was better to keep things moving.

"Alright, let's head out," I said, standing and gesturing for the group to follow.
