Chapter 53 - Jumping Out Of Their Social Class
Chapter 53: Jumping Out Of Their Social Class
In the small house,
Lu Shan and Lu Shui looked at the middle-aged man with a stern face in front of them with some trepidation.
Today. Lu Shan and Lu Shui had gone to school at the Lunan City Second High School.
After classes ended, they went for their regular testing. Lu Shan was a Grade 3 Martial Arts Warrior while Lu Shui was Grade 4. Both students’ test results caused quite an uproar.
Before this, only a dozen or so students reached Grade 3 Martial Arts Warrior in the Lunan City Second High School. As for Grade 4 Martial Arts Warrior, there was only one student who qualified.
All of a sudden, the school had one more Grade 3 and Grade 4 Martial Arts Warrior, and it inevitably caused quite a commotion.
All the classmates were shocked at Lu Shan and Lu Shui’s abilities, and some tried to cozy up to them.
Even students who they were clearly unacquainted with suddenly came close to them. Those talented ones who used to look down on them also took the initiative to rub shoulders with the two siblings.
Lu Shan and Lu Shui experienced first hand, for the first time, the benefits of having great strength.
It was only in school, not even in the domain of martial arts warriors, yet the difference was so great.
They found it hard to imagine what kind of extravagant treatment their own father, with his Great Martial Master level, would get in society.
This incident naturally attracted a lot of attention.
Some were curious, some were stunned. Some were suspicious, some were envious.
......
The middle-aged man standing before them, had the most exaggerated reaction of all.
Jiang Jun was an instructor in the Lunan City Second High School. He had already reached the level of an Intermediate Martial Master.
It was rumored that Jiang Jun did not have to stay on at the Lunan City Second High School and could have gone to a better place. In fact, he could have gone out of Lunan City to another better city.
When he found out about Lu Shan and Lu Shui’s test results, he immediately went looking for them. He requested to be their mentor and promised to help them develop rapidly in their training journey.
Lu Shan and Lu Shui wanted to turn down his offer initially.
Firstly, Jiang Jun was very strict. He was famous for it in the whole of Lunan City Second High School. Lu Shan and Lu Shan were filled with trepidation every time they laid eyes on him. In fact, they dared not even look him in the eye.
Secondly, they thought it was better to seek their father’s opinion first.
However, they did not expect that Jiang Jun would insist on visiting their home and asking for their parents’ permission in person, and thus he followed them home.
At this moment, inside the small house,
Jiang Jun surveyed the belongings in the surroundings. They were all fairly old, and the quality was average. Based on this, one would think that the owner’s strength was at most at the level of a low-level Martial Arts Warrior.
As for the Martial Master level, such a person would never live in such conditions. In fact, he would not even be living in this district.
Jiang Jun shook his head with a smile and said, “Lu Shan, Lu Shui, you must understand that you two are good talents now. You have a good starting point. You must jump out of your family’s social class, understand? You can listen to your parents’ opinion and give them due consideration, but you don’t have to accept them. Otherwise, if you listened to your parents, your future will be stuck in the same social class as your parents. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
Lu Shan and Lu Shui exchanged glances after listening to him.
They knew their father’s strength to be at the level of a Great Martial Master, but did not know the details.
If they had the chance to reach the Great Martial Master level, they would be absolutely overjoyed. They would never be unsatisfied with that.
However, when they raised their eyes to peek at Jiang Jun, they swiftly shrank back when they met his stern eyes. They dared not rebut him.
Jiang Jun was still lecturing away unabashedly.
“Don’t feel disgruntled. I’m telling the truth. You may think your parents are awesome, but in the eyes of Lunan City, they may be very insignificant, not to mention in the whole Federation.”
“If your parents are doing well, your family will not be staying in such a run-down house, right?”
“The reason I want the two of you to follow me, to let me be your mentor, is to help you two change your destiny, break through your social class. I hope you can understand my intentions!”
At this moment, the door suddenly swung open. Lu Yu had arrived home.
Jiang Jun frowned slightly. With his Intermediate Martial Master level, he failed to detect the other party’s arrival. Until he opened the door, Jiang Jun never once sensed his presence.
Upon opening the door, Lu Yu came in to see an unknown man inside his own home, while his two kids kept their head lowered, looking very frightened.
With a slight frown, Lu Yu asked, “You are?”
Jiang Jun took one glance at Lu Yu and thought that he looked familiar somehow. However, as much as he tried, he simply could not put his finger on it, so he simply dismissed the feeling.
Jiang Jun,with a haughty look, walked up and said, ” I am Jiang Jun, an instructor at Lunan City Second High School. I am here making a home visit, with the intention to let these two children follow me and become my disciples. May I ask how are you related to Lu Shan and Lu Shui?”
As realization dawned, Lu Yu smiled and replied, “Oh, I’m the father of these two children.”
“So you are their father!” Jiang Jun nodded his head. He tried sensing all over the man before his eyes, but he could not detect any fluctuations of health vitality at all.
No fluctuations of health vitality meant that he was an ordinary person. He would not have any health vitality in his body at all. The other possibility was that his strength was very weak like a low-level Martial Arts Warrior, and so there would not be any fluctuations of health vitality.
Of course, the other possibility was, his strength was way too high, and so was not detectable.
Jiang Jun, with his Intermediate Martial Master level, could not have thought of the last possibility. He continued in his arrogant manner, saying, “You have discovered 2 treasures. Your 2 kids have good innate talents. At this age, one is a Grade 3 Martial Arts Warrior, the other a Grade 4. They can look forward to a bright future. It is your honor to have such children!”
Beside him, Lu Shan and Lu Shui couldn’t take it anymore. Although they knew that Instructor Jiang Jun was very formidable and a powerful Martial Master,
he still fell short compared to their father, who was a Great Martial Master.
“Instructor, my dad is very powerful, he is…” Lu Shan tried to tell him, but was cut short by Jiang Jun.
“I am aware that your father is very powerful. But like I just said, that is only in your eyes. And one more thing. Don’t interrupt when adults are talking. You must learn the rules!” After chiding him, Jiang Jun turned back to Lu Yu.
“I’m sure you understand what it means when your two kids have reached Grade 3 and grade 4 Martial Arts Warrior levels respectively?”
Lu Yu tried not to laugh. He simply nodded his head slightly and said indifferently, “I know. They have a chance to get into the top 10 martial arts universities.”
When Jiang Jun saw how calm and composed Lu Yu was, he felt very uncomfortable at once.
Didn’t the father know that Grade 3 and Grade 4 Martial Arts Warrior levels were fantastic? Otherwise he wouldn’t have spent so much effort to come all the way here. Yet this guy was so calm, as if this was something very mundane! Did he think that simply anyone could enter the top 10 martial arts universities? Once they could get into one, it meant they would grow up to become powerful experts in future, and be the cream of the crop!
Jiang Jun was somewhat displeased, but he still pressed on. “Don’t think that you can relax and live in the lap of luxury once they get into the top 10 martial arts universities. Amongst the top 10, the competition is very stiff. First, they have to select their mentor, and they will need a good one, who can not only lead them well on their training journey, but also open up doors to all kinds of resources and help.”
“In other words, once they have a good mentor, their training journey in future will be half as arduous. It will be like a smooth highway!”
