Chapter 43: Team Work
Bright and early on the next day the group was entering the dungeon.
They had prepared all night discussing strategies and working with the information that Ezekiel could provide.
Inside of the dungeon they first took turns killing the skeletons while the rest cultivated their mana.
Ezekiel would point out patches of moss that were obvious ambush locations like he had experienced and when he killed the skeletons hiding within the others were astonished by how easily the skeletons hid.
In this place Ezekiel was like a king as he led the team expertly through the dangers while helping them grow stronger.
He knew that eventually they would surpass him once they caught up in skills.
His advantage over other players was his knowledge of skills that they clearly didn't take time to explore.
They could easily grow stronger than he could as experienced vr players.
While battling the undead he was able to lead them all the way to the dungeon boss room.
They all knew about the boss obviously but when he opened the door they were left speechless at the changes to the area.
First the room had dense mana and since they had been cultivating mana for hours the previous day they were well aware of the difference.
The next difference was the appearance of the green crystals that were tall enough to reach the waist.
When he brought Hope to a crystal he showed her that it was infused with life mana.
So much life mana that she would probably be able to bring her affinity to a great level even if she couldn't estimate the rate yet.
When the others saw her reaction they also went to a crystal to explore it and they seemed interested in the deep emerald color of the element.
Ezekiel guided everyone in absorbing the mana in the room so that they could begin the fight at full power.
After the mana infusing the room was depleted he also had them drain the life mana of the crystals.
What came as a surprise was when each of them got the life affinity the way he did.
He explained to them that having higher life affinity meant that your natural regeneration was stronger but if you knew how to manipulate mana to shape spells you could also use the spells to heal.
Hope in response asked to see a few of his life mana infused spells and when he showed her one of his healing infused nova spells her eyes sparkled.
While describing that his healimg infused spells were extremely high burst healing she began to explain how her class worked with her own spells.
Her class had skills that buffed the healing amount or reduced the mana used for the same effect but with her new skills she could make her skills that much stronger.
Apparently leveling a healing spell was difficult as it required an injured person to heal.
Healing a person with full hp seemed to not have any benefit at all.
When he heard this Ezekiel actually got an idea while he was getting ready to start the battle.
'What if she healed me during my resistance training?'
Placing his palm on the coffin he moved back while creating a multitude of dense shadowfire arrows to strike the boss with.
With this the battle began.
~
In the city of Raylock npcs and players alike were watching as two large demon women walked the streets.
Their armor and weapons appeared to be very high quality while their bodies gave off an aura of power.
Each woman held a crystal that was as black as night, it was similar to obsidian but almost seemed to be in the same shape as quartz.
They were looking for something.
A human who seemed to be a bit to enthusiastic about them approached.
The man wore his sword across his back and it seemed like he wanted to look like a barbarian as the strap holding his sword up was all that covered his chest.
"You girls looking for something? Well you found it."
He tried a cheesy line that had the players nearby cringing.
"You are the shadow user?"
One of the demons approached him and held the crystal up while looking at him.
He hesitated for a moment before nodding.
When the demons grabbed him to make him follow he raised a thumbs up at the crowd of observers who were staring at him as if they were looking at a corpse.
