Building a Business Empire with my Technological System

Chapter 52 Realizing the Long-Awaited Goal

Chapter 52  Realizing the Long-Awaited Goal

As the meeting wound down, Antoinette stood up, signaling its conclusion. Michael, picking up on the cue, rose as well. They met in the middle of the room, extending their hands in a gesture of mutual respect and potential future collaboration.

"Michael, before you step out," Antoinette began, her tone shifting to something more personal, "there's something I need to share with you."

Curiosity piqued, Michael tilted his head slightly, "Sure, what's on your mind?"

Antoinette took a moment, her expression serious. "I've been a significant investor in Solar Dynamics Corporation for years. When the news broke out that they had manipulated the technical report to discredit your invention, I was beyond disappointed. It goes against everything I believe in about fair business practices and integrity."

Michael listened intently, understanding the weight of her words.

"I couldn't stand by a company that operates in such a manner. So, I pulled my investment. There's no room for unethical behavior in my portfolio," Antoinette continued her voice firm.

Michael nodded, appreciating her stance. "I'm sorry you had to make such a decision, but I respect your principles. It's reassuring to see leaders in the business community who stand up for integrity."

"How do you think businesses like ours grow? Every company we've invested in has seen significant growth. There hasn't been a single failure among them," she stated confidently.

Michael, intrigued by her track record and approach, leaned in slightly, showing his interest. "That's quite an achievement. It speaks volumes about your ability to choose the right ventures and guide them toward success," he replied, acknowledging the impact of her principles on her investment choices. "But you made one wrong judgment." "Yeah…the Solar Dynamics Corporation. They were at the forefront of renewable energy in the Philippines, for them to stoop so low was disappointing. Well…I'm not going to hold you any longer, Michael. I just wanted to make it clear where I stand and why I'm interested in your project."

Michael appreciated the candidness. "Thank you for being upfront, Mrs. Estolas. It means a lot to know that my work aligns with someone who values integrity as much as I do. I believe this could be the start of a meaningful partnership."

Antoinette smiled, the serious moment passing. "I believe so too. Let's keep the lines of communication open. Once you're ready to discuss potential investment details or need guidance, don't hesitate to reach out."

With a final handshake, Michael thanked her and Catherine for their time and made his way out of the office. Outside, a familiar voice called his name,

"Michael!" Michael glanced over his shoulder and saw Catherine, standing by the door. "Uhm…ehh…" Catherine fidgeted her fingers. "I want to apologize for being blunt to you when I received the results. I didn't know they faked the technical report."

Michael smiled warmly. "There's nothing for you to apologize for. Given your position and understanding of the technology, it would be easy for you to believe what a top and reputable company will say instead of me who is just a college student." Catherine's mouth formed a thin line, a mixture of appreciation and regret evident on her face. "Thank you, Michael. That means a lot to me. And... I'm glad everything turned out well for you in the end."

"Yeah…that means I'm going to be busy in the coming weeks. I have to apply for a patent and then register my business with the Department of Trade and Industry. Plus, I'll need to start serious discussions with potential partners and investors," Michael explained, outlining the immediate steps he needed to take.

Catherine nodded, understanding the workload ahead of him. "Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. If there's anything I or my mother can do to help, please let us know."

"Well regarding that, there is something I want to tell you." n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"Oh…what is it?" Catherine asked.

"Once we finish the contract of the tutor lesson, there's no next. You have to find someone else. I won't be able to do so because, given the prospect of starting my own business and all the tasks that come with it, I simply won't have the time. I hope you understand," Michael said, choosing his words carefully to convey the seriousness of his new commitments.

Catherine's expression faltered for a moment, a hint of disappointment crossing her features. "I understand, Michael. You have bigger things ahead of you now, and I'm really happy for you. It's just... you've been a great tutor, and I've learned a lot from you."

Michael offered a reassuring smile.

Catherine's phone rang. She picked it up from her purse and glanced at the caller.

"Let me guess, it's your boyfriend Joshua?" Michael guessed.

Catherine shook her head. "He's not my boyfriend?" "You mean not yet your boyfriend?" Michael teased, noticing how Catherine's face lit up at the mention of Joshua.

Catherine rolled her eyes but couldn't hide a small smile. "No, it's not like that. We're just... it's complicated," she admitted, her voice trailing off as she glanced at her phone again, indicating the call was still waiting.

Michael raised his hands in a mock surrender. "Alright, I won't pry. But Joshua seems an ideal guy for most girls. He is rich, looks handsome, has a beautiful car, and most importantly, he got all of it on his own."

Catherine's smile widened a bit at Michael's description, a clear sign of her fondness. "Yeah, Joshua's great. He's worked hard for everything he has. I admire that about him," she conceded, her tone softening.

Michael nodded, understanding the complexity of personal feelings intertwined with admiration. "Just remember, whatever your relationship status with Joshua or anyone else, make sure it's what you truly want and makes you happy," he advised, shifting into a more serious tone.

Catherine nodded, taking Michael's words to heart. "I will, Michael. And thanks for the advice.

With that, Catherine answered her phone, stepping away to take the call, and leaving Michael to reflect on their conversation. He felt a pang of sadness knowing their tutor-student relationship was ending, but he was also excited about the new chapter unfolding in his life.

Well, it's time for the patent application. He already outlined the steps for applying for a patent for his solar panel. The first step is submitting a detailed description of his invention to the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines in Taguig. "Let's go there."
