Chapter 210: Hestia!
It took the duo one week to arrive and by the time they did, Yapa was on the verge of death.
"Ugh! My lord, what type of monster are you? Are you really a lesser devourer? How can you travel all this distance in one week? Oh great mother Azigot, I can't believe my eyes." Yapa yapped, not even giving himself time to catch his breath.
Draco, however, did not care what Yapa was yapping about; he was more intrigued by the planet in front of him.
"Interesting... very interesting." Draco squinted his eyes. This planet was beyond beautiful.
It was a medieval planet with 3 continents; its blue oceans and green earth made the planet look vibrant, but this was something Draco was used to by now.
What caught his attention was the floating island that was situated majestically above the two. Its pointy below, almost piercing the bubble of the 100th floor.
Water fell from the island with endless motion; it slid by the bubble and then fell down from the tower all the way to the ground, making one have to pass through the trial of a water gate before even being able to set their legs on the legendary ascension.
Suddenly, a strange individual appeared in front of Draco, his figure completely white yet humanoid.
"You should be a deva, I suppose?" Draco asked.
"Who might you be, stranger?" The deva's voice sounded strange, making the duo feel as if it spread through their mind instead of hearing it like normal.
"Me? I'm but a humble devourer here to achieve greatness as any other celestial." Draco explained with a smile.
"So you are a world devourer, huh? Please follow me." Unexpectedly, the deva didn't attack Draco nor did he call for his ocmrades; instead, he invited the two to follow him to the floating island.
"hmm..." Draco contemplated for a bit seeing this.
"M- my lord, should we really? We don't know who they are; they might just ambush us and then and th-"
"Shut up. Let's go." Draco interrupted Yapa and followed after the deva. Him? scared? of what? If anything, he was more interested in what they were going to do.
There were many factors that made Draco choose the worlds he targets, and the most important of them was opportunity. That is why, out of the ten thousand worlds he had to absorb, he would only choose the ones that would benefit him most.
This one he liked better than all the previous ones, but opportunity also called for it louder than it did to those before it; thus, Draco was intrigued by what the deva wanted to do.
Draco, Yapa, and the deva of light set foot on the floating island, the deva's motherland. Looking at it, Draco once more felt that burning feeling in his chest that told him to not miss this at all and do whatever he could to conquer it.
Within the middle, there was a huge tree where 4 rivers separated from as they traversed all the way to the corner of the island. The area around was only full of greenery, beautiful flowers, and mezmerizing scenery.
However, what truly stood out was the tree. It was larger than any Draco had ever seen before, including the world tree of the elves. It had large, dangling fruits of all colors, held by vines and falling from its branches. These fruits were called deva fruits, extremely rare fruits that would later on give birth to new deva after enough time had passed.
These fruits were special and nurtured by the imagination and belief of those below; when they were ripe, the fruit would slowly start transforming into a deva with the authority over what it represented.
Still, such fruits could take from hundreds of thousands of years to millions, depending on the intensity of divinity generated by them.
For example, the deva of light was born only a few hundred thousand years after the world was formed, and even if he died, the second fruit of light would take less than that to revive him due to the divinity accumulated throughout the time he was alive.
However, as special as these fruits were, they were the reason the calamity fell upon this world, Hestia.
"Light, who are they?" When the group arrived on the island, a deva made of grass approached the deva of light and asked.
"They're devourers, Life. I'm hoping they can help us against the Alliance." Light replied.
"Devourers? What are you doing, Light? Do you want us killed?" Life looked at the duo and immediately got serious while taking a stance.
"Don't worry, I promise we won't attack. At least, until we hear you out." Draco smiled and replied.
"See? They're dangerous." Life looked at Light and said.
"Follow me, Life." Light didn't answer; instead, he ordered.
"Bu-" Before Life could retort, Light faced her with his eyeless visage, making her follow him in silence, not even looking back at Draco and Yapa.
'So, Light is the leader here?' Draco thought. Though he did have some basic information about Hestia, it was only the preliminary knowledge he gained from the map, nothing serious.
The four celestials went all the way to the middle of the island and once they were close to the tree, they began floating to pass over the water.
"Are the others inside?" Light asked.
"Yes." A voice reverberated from the middle of the river before a humanoid figure made out of water surfaced.
"Let's go." Light then raised his hand and an entrance appeared in the colossal tree.
The group that consisted of 5 celestials at the moment, entered one after the other. What awaited on the other side wasn't just a mission.
It was an event, an assembly, and the day an organization unlike any other would be formed to shake the entire universe on its head.
The founder? Draco Valenstein. Hestia would be nothing but a stepping stone.
