Chapter 214: Palkus’ Journey! 21
"You're here already?" Palkus walked towards the city center and next to a fountain where an elven statue had water flowing from its hands. Emily was waiting for him there with a goegerous white robe that went all the way to her ankles.
"Yes, I took my time preparing but seems like I still managed to come earlier than you." Emily smiled sweetly, looking at the young man, who was wearing a grey jacket with a white shirt underneath, black pants, and white shoes.
"You look gorgeous today." Palkus smiled and complimented.
"Thank you, you look amazing too." Emily's smile became sweeter as she returned the compliment.
"Hmm…" Instead of replying, the young man stared at her for a good few seconds.
"What is it?" Starting to get shy from the stares, Emily couldn't stay silent anymore and asked.
"No wonder you're looking extra pretty today; that black rose hair clip is cute!" Palkus finally opened his eyes before he commented as he got closer to his lady.
"Ah…" Emily, surprised by the double compliment, didn't know what to say anymore, so she was just there.
"Now that we're both here, let's go." Palkus looked around him and then said.
"Yeah…" Emily, slowly getting out of her happy state, replied.
"We're going to that theatre today, right?" Emily asked.
"Yeah, I've never been to a theatre before. I'm so excited." Palkus looked at her and replied.
"I've gone to a few before with a couple friends, I heard this new play is quite loved by everyone who watched it." She said.
"Is that so? Then that's even more of a reason to look forward to it." Palkus replied, looking forward.
From the center, they only had to walk for around 10 minutes before they reached the large building where the theatre was going to play out. Such buildings had big companies investing in them so they took up quite a bit of space, and this area they were in was only visited by rich aristocrats and those who are well off in general.
This was not to say that commoners couldn't watch the theatre, but they would do so quite late compared to the privileged.
"Oh, we'll have to wait for quite a while." Emily stated. When they entered the building, a long line waited for them, making the lady annoyed that precious time was going to be taken from their date.
"Hehe." Palkus suddenly smiled as he took out a black card.
"Follow me." He said as he walked towards a different path.
"Please show me your VVIP card, sir." Yes, the lad had somehow managed to get a card for this theatre building and managed to save time for their date.
"Here." Handing the card to the guard, who was wearing armor, Palkus was feeling proud of himself.
"You can pass." Handing the card back to its owner, the guard gave them access to the VVIP pass.
This card not only helped them skip the line, they had the best seats for the theater, and they could even order anything they wanted to eat free of charge. That was how expensive the card was.
"You didn't have to do that." Emily, however, didn't like that Palkus was wasting so much money on her.
"Don't worry, money isn't a problem." Palkus only said this, knowing that the young lady was worried that he was spending too much.
"Mhm." Not wanting to sound ungrateful, Emily just remained silent and followed him.
The two passed the long line and entered a special corridor for VVIP clients, and there, a butler was waiting for them.
"Please follow me." Palkus showed the butler his card and with a single glance, the man started walking forward.
The two were led to a special room that overlooked the theater.
"There will be staff waiting outside, if you need anything, just call. Now, please…" After informing the couple, the butler left.
The room they were in was quite large and right in the middle was a comfortable-looking cushion with a table and in front of them was a huge window overlooking the theatre room that was huge beyond belief.
All over the sides were windows similar to theirs and beneath them were rows of seats on both sides, with stairs leading to them in the middle and the sides.
Like all theatres, this one looked mostly red, and the window was engraved with special features that allowed the couple to watch the theatre comfortably from their seats. Although they were both high-ranking, such a feature was there for VIPs who weren't.
"Oh, it's starting." Looking at the red veils that were moved out of the way and the theatre that was just starting, Emily spoke.
"Looks like we're both excited." Palkus focused on the scene in front of them and Emily just hummed in agreement. Then the two enjoyed themselves, as throughout the play they experienced excitement, joy, happiness, sadness, grief, and multiple other emotions that went on to engrave this experience in their minds forever.
A few hours later, the couple came out of the theatre with Emily's eyes looking slightly watery and Palkus had a surprised look on his face.
"Well, I certainly wasn't expecting that." He said.
"Mhm, I've never watched such good theatre in my life." Emily replied, a tear falling from her eye that she quickly hid.
"I didn't expect such an ending either... Who would have thought the main actor was the one planning the entire series of events from the start." Palkus added, looking directly at Emily.
"I was quite sad when all of his friends and his lover died because of his selfishness." Emily replied.
"Well, it definitely was the best first experience one could hope for when coming to a theatre." Palkus added.
"Yeah." Emily replied.
"Anyway, the day is still young, we should look for a calm place to rest, I want to enjoy some silence." Emily added after.
"You're right." And the two went on to continue their day.
