Chapter 54: When The Light Turns Into Darkness!
Maximilian was the kind of friend everyone needs, the one so bright he attracts people left and right, the type of friend you look at from afar, the one with Heavenly advice that knows exactly what to tell you at the right time, and his advice just works. Just as bright as he is, he's also mysterious, but you know he only wants what's good for you.
He was also the kind of guy to know everyone; he was gentle. A lot of girls had huge crushes on him but he never got a girlfriend and just lived life leisurely and carefreely, doing something out of the norm.
His background was complex, his way of thinking was unique, his charisma was like a magnet, he had so many great things about him that people just couldn't get enough of him, and so he became one of the most well-known guys on the school grounds but also one of the least seen since he just didn't care.
He was always there when you needed him, talked with a smile, never made you feel left out, knew what to say and when to say it, and had complete control. He was the definition of the best human and friend you could ask for. How he came to be, it wasn't a good upbringing but sheer self-discipline, and out of him, he adopted such a mentality and way of being.
Such a person was guided and fated to be the best human, maybe he won't finish by becoming successful, wealthy, or powerful, but his impact on people reaching all of these states will be everpresent.
Now how would this person become if he suddenly made a 180° change? Such a thing was literally an impossibility, especially for a person such as this with outstanding brains, self-discipline, and a philosophy of being.
But Draco was itching to know who everyone was. The problem is that it was all in Draco's hands; would such a thing be accurate? Well, he only had to act completely opposite to how Max himself would in that situation.
Maximilian was a [Light Master] and what was their specialty? Well, a lot; they had offense, defense, support, speed, and even slight connections to healing and light elements.
They could make stuff invisible, shoot out concentrated laser beams that nobody would stand a chance against, go at unseen speeds for a temporary amount of time, quicken their healing rates, and even slightly turn their bodies into light without taking any physical damage but that was a thing all Elemental Masters could do.
Maximilian himself was the type of guy to go on a stroll while on a raid, taking care of any enemies in his way and helping those in trouble; he was just going at a leisurely pace with everything.
People would never even suspect him of doing something wrong or bad, those closer to him than most even grew reliant on him and he became an essential part of their lives but those were far away at the moment.
This time the group was at another C-Rank Tribe, a tribe of a race called Dawbus, literal bearman; they were simple-minded like Orcs and Ogres and were just bipedal bears smarter than the normal bears of the same rank, lacking the intelligence necessary to form a civilized tribe.
These bears were similar to orcs, but unlike ogres in the way that they were heavily focused on endurance, vitality, and strength, ogres were also fast and deadly.
The students, not missing a beat, went directly on the attack, similar to the last group, and Maximilian went on his casual stroll.
He entered the tribe, looked around while walking, saw the corpses, the students fighting, shouting, and laughing, and continued walking for 5 minutes before he saw his first target, a lone Dawbus, He saw Max; his eyes turned red and he attacked without a second thought.
"[Laser Beam]!"
*Ziiing* *Thud*
"[Rise]!" "[Devouring]!" and continued walking.
A few moments later, he met a student struggling with a bear, The students looked back and the second he saw Max, he beamed with happiness.
"Hey, Max! You're here, right on time! please help! this guy is pretty, though." The students, not stressed any longer, casually talked to Max while holding back the Dawbus.
Max looked at him, put on his casual smile, lifted his hand and...
"[Laser Beam]!"
*Thud*
"Huh?" The student, not understanding anything, looked down at his leg, which had a hole in it and back at Max.
Before he could understand...
*ChkhBoom*
His head exploded into a dozen pieces.
"Graaaawr!" The Dawbus roared in victory and was about to charge at Max before.
"[Laser Beam]!" "[Ruse]!" "[Devouring]!" He was killed, summoned, and devoured; Max, not taking another look, continued on his way.
"Maax! Help!"
"[Laser Beam]!"
"Hey Max, wanna join us? We're going for the boss."
"Alright, sure!"
"Max, he's coming this way."
"[Laser Beam]!"
"Kyaaa! Max, you killed him!"
"[Laser Beam]!"
"[Rise]!" "[Devouring]!"
"Hey Max, Our friend got this stinky wound; can you fix it for him really quick?"
"Sure!"
"Thanks, My Pleasure!"
"Let me see... [Laser Beam]! Oh, he's dead I can't do anything."
"Uh? Why is there a hole in his chest."
"Behind you."
"Huh?"
*ChakhBoom*
"[Invisibility] sure is useful to use on Monsters. [Laser Beam], [Rise], [Devouring."
And it went on... Students struggling found themselves at death's door without understanding; students running fell down with holes in their brains; those asking for help were instead caught off guard; those wanting a heal were killed by the same healer; those wanting advice were sent to their deaths; and those too trusting were either blown to bits or had a hole in their chest, brain, or back.
The Problem is that there was no witness.
'I like this guy; I'm taking him with me.' Draco thought.
And so Maximilian went on to kill 1256 students in total by the time Draco's play ended, having caused the deaths of more than 10% of his group, and his legend was yet to end but had just begun.
-----End-----
This is the Chapter I missed and Promised to release, What do you think of it? It was pretty chill and fun to write for me.
