Clan Cultivation: Starting from Beast Taming

Chapter 314 - 182: Successfully Joined the Sect, Golden Dragon Hall

The closest Dragon Transformation Sect’s branch temple to Zhou Chun was Azure Dragon Sub-Temple, which also served as the base for Azure Dragon Hall.

Escorted by two missionary envoys from Azure Dragon Hall, Zhou Chun quickly and smoothly arrived outside the Azure Dragon Sub-Temple. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

The temple sat on the edge of a large lake, with vast mortal settlements spread out on a plain less than a hundred miles from the temple’s base.

Just by looking from above, Zhou Chun could tell that the mortals living there numbered no less than a million.

"Taoist Friend Zhou, please wait a moment; we will enter the branch temple now and inform Protector Lord about your arrival."

Outside the gate of Azure Dragon Sub-Temple, the two missionary envoys from Azure Dragon Hall, having brought Zhou Chun here, were all smiles, asking him to wait outside as they prepared to enter and explain the situation.

Even though Zhou Chun had been agreeable all along the way, the nervous duo was still filled with caution, constantly fearing that Zhou Chun might suddenly attack and kill them.

So, in fact, they were exhausted to the point where they didn’t want to stay by Zhou Chun’s side for even a moment longer.

"Very well, please go ahead, that would be much appreciated," Zhou Chun agreed readily, his face wearing a smile as he clasped his hands towards the two.

After watching the pair enter the gate of the Azure Dragon Sub-Temple, Zhou Chun’s smile faded slightly, and he became a bit nervous.

What came next would decide his fate!

If he could pass the test of the Azure Dragon protector and the Elder guarding this branch temple, he would successfully go undercover in the Dragon Transformation Sect.

With his skills, and the support and coordination from Green Lotus Temple and his family outside, rising through the ranks within the sect wouldn’t be too difficult.

This was one of the major advantages of going undercover.

High risk, high reward—such was the nature of undercover work.

Zhou Chun didn’t have to wait too long; roughly an hour passed, and he saw the mid-Foundation Establishment cultivator who had entered earlier running back out.

Upon reaching Zhou Chun, the cultivator cheerfully said, "Taoist Friend Zhou, please follow me; Protector Peng has heard about your deeds and has specially sent me to invite you into the sub-temple."

"Thank you for your trouble," Zhou Chun replied with a slight nod, and immediately followed the man through the gate of the Azure Dragon Sub-Temple.

Although it was only a branch temple, the concentration of spiritual energy inside the gate was almost as high as that within the Green Lotus Temple, since there were no other powers contesting the wasteland territory.

In terms of cultivation conditions, it was definitely several levels above that of Zhou Family’s Jiufeng Ridge.

Zhou Chun followed the missionary envoy from Azure Dragon Hall flying for over a hundred miles within the gate until they landed on a majestic mountain that rose a thousand feet high, halfway up which they entered a palace.

A middle-aged man in green clothes was seen reclining on a dragon throne at the head of the palace, engrossed in reading a book.

As the pair entered the palace, the envoy bringing Zhou Chun stepped forward, knelt on one knee, and, raising his hands, saluted, "Reporting to Protector Peng, I have brought Taoist Friend Zhou as ordered."

The moment the words fell, Zhou Chun stepped forward and bowed deeply, "Junior Zhou Yuanyang, pays respects to Elder Peng."

The middle-aged man on the dragon throne put down his book and turned his sharp gaze to the two in the hall.

After scrutinizing Zhou Chun for a while, he waved his hand lightly, "Alright, Taoist Friend Zhou, stay. Envoy Wang, you may withdraw."

"Yes, this subordinate will take his leave," the man known as Envoy Wang said and quickly exited the great hall, even shutting the door behind him.

Once he was gone, Protector Peng, still seated on the dragon throne, turned to Zhou Chun and asked with a hint of solemnity, "I’ve been told by Envoy Wang that you, Zhou Chun, have offended the Corpse Demon Sect in Fengguo and had no choice but to come to our sect for refuge, is that correct?"

"There are such reasons, but it’s not entirely the case!" Zhou Chun first nodded, then shook his head.

"Oh? What do you mean? Are there other reasons?" Protector Peng’s face showed a flicker of surprise as he looked interestedly at Zhou Chun, signaling him to explain.

"Actually, before my Foundation Establishment, I had already encountered the sect’s influence, and after successful Foundation Establishment, I often hesitated over whether to come and seek refuge."

"Having impulsively killed people from the Corpse Demon Sect and knowing there was no place for me in Fengguo, I no longer hesitated over this matter!" Zhou Chun explained, and then recounted his discovery of the remains and relics of a Dragon Transformation Sect cultivator from over eight hundred years ago.

In his narrative, he merely changed the location to somewhere within Fengguo and omitted the part about the Secret Foil, with everything else being his true experience.

As Peng listened, he became increasingly surprised and serious.

When Zhou Chun finished explaining, Peng gazed at him intently and asked sternly, "Are you certain that everything you’ve said is true?"

"Are you aware of the consequences of deceiving me and the sect?"

Upon hearing this, Zhou Chun earnestly responded, "Elder Peng is wise; my words are the absolute truth, with no falsehood whatsoever, and there is evidence to prove it!"

"Very well, then present your evidence for inspection," Protector Peng said, rising from his seat.

Zhou Chun promptly slapped his storage pouch and took out all the things he had prepared.

After deciding to join the Dragon Transformation Sect, he had made another trip to the deep part of the underground river-stone cave and collected the abandoned jade box and the remains of the ancient Dragon Transformation Sect cultivator.
