Chapter 189 - 189 Fighting The Muscular Demon (4)
189 Fighting The Muscular Demon (4)
His eyes clearly saw it. The unknown white light that came from the muscular humanoid demon’s body and invaded Robus’ body, making the latter unable to move, seemingly having his whole body restricted by something.
And the result of Robus losing his ability to move his body in a fistfight was clear. The huge force behind the muscular humanoid demon’s fist then blasted Robus’ huge body backward, sending the huge gorilla flying off the ground for a while before landing on the ground.
Though there was no real damage to Robus’ body other than a visible mark on the dark earth armor on the part where the muscular humanoid demon’s fist had hit the armor, the sight of Robus’s huge body flying backward from a punch of another demon was a sight that Blake rarely- even had never seen before.
Fortunately, Robus didn’t lose his ability to move for so long as the moment his body crashed against the ground, it only took him about a split second to regain control of his body, and stood up from the ground.
However, the moment Robus was already thinking about a rematch, the muscular humanoid demon had already disappeared from his place, appearing in another place, one that was very close to someone else that he was very familiar with.
While Robus was taken out of the frame, being thrown to the ground, the muscular humanoid demon realized that the dark earth armor that the huge gorilla wore was too tough for his fist to break in a single punch and his earlier attack, though was a clean hit, didn’t really put in a significant amount of damage to the gorilla.
So when Robus was momentarily unable to participate in the fight, the muscular humanoid demon used that precious seconds to kick his feet against the ground and deal with the actual threat that he had registered in his mind the first moment he laid his eyes on it.
And it was none other than the jet-black humanoid demon.
Though the huge gorilla was definitely a strong demon that could even withstand his attack easily, not even receiving a scratch from his punch, the muscular humanoid demon clearly saw how the huge gorilla obeyed the jet-black humanoid demon’s command, even protecting the smaller humanoid demon without being told to.
.....
The moment he got the chance to launch an attack on the real threat, the muscular humanoid demon took it, and he didn’t plan on going easy after knowing his enemies were no ordinary enemies.
A humanoid demon controlling a powerful demonic beast and a variant type demon while also being a runemaster, there was no way the muscular humanoid demon would underestimate his enemy now despite him being in the first demon realm.
Winding his fist and putting in as much nether to his bloodline power as when he had dissipated the dark flame bullet from existence using his fist, the muscular humanoid demon really took the matter of defeating the jet-black humanoid demon right in front of him very seriously.
And on the other hand, Blake, who was on the receiving end of the muscular humanoid demon’s attack, also felt the seriousness and the dangerousness contained inside the muscular humanoid demon’s fist.
The muscular humanoid demon had gone back down to the ground to attack him, which was a very wise choice considering his speed became almost unfathomable and very difficult to follow once he used his powerful limbs’ strength to move, but Blake couldn’t be said to be caught off-guard by it.
Even though the scene where he would be seeing his enormous best friend sent flying was never registered in his mind and he was slightly taken aback by it, by no means Blake had let his guard down against the enemy that had the power to punch his dark flame bullet from existence with his bare hands.
The moment he felt the muscular humanoid demon’s eyes on him, Blake had once again grabbed more rune formations from his dimensional pouch, sending nether through them, while holding down the rune formation from activating right away as he waited for the perfect moment to activate them.
And when the muscular humanoid demon had become a blur and that blur traveled towards him, that was also the time Blake released his hold on the rune formations in his hand while also letting the rune formation activate properly, sending them out at different times, as if he had plotted to do something.
With the few exchanges Blake had with the muscular humanoid demon so far, Blake had learned a few things about the muscular humanoid demon, and that was his reflex was very fast, and the muscular humanoid demon really took his rune formations very seriously.
And using that information in his current attempt to counterattack the muscular humanoid demon, Blake didn’t just simply repeat what he tried to do before and had actually made a few adjustments to the rune formations that he threw.
Instead of just sending one rune formation and trying to time it so that the rune formation would activate right under the muscular humanoid demon’s feet, Blake had actually thrown three rune formations now.
And on top of that, Blake had also told Cyra to give his plan a more complete setup.
With the blur moving at him almost half as fast as the dark flame bullet’s speed, which was a speed that was unthinkable for Blake to achieve for a living creature, the first thing that Blake had thought of doing was to slow down the muscular humanoid demon or at least prevent him from reaching him in an instant.
Following her command as if she was their master, the dark flames that encased her whole body moved forward, following Cyra’s hands to bend and curve to make smaller earth walls that looked more familiar to pillars instead of an actual wall like the initial dark flame that towered high over the muscular humanoid demon’s body and made the latter stop in his tracks.
The muscular humanoid demon, of course, saw those pillars form in front of him. But rather than boldly blocking his way, those pillars were placed in a way that made it as if the muscular humanoid demon was able to dodge them at the price of changing his direction, which was headed straight to Blake’s location.
The muscular humanoid demon realized this as he saw those pillars were now already almost as tall as himself.
He realized that if he were to dodge the pillars and adjust the direction he was currently moving in, he would miss the jet-black humanoid demon and his vision of the jet-black humanoid demon would once again be blocked by the pillars.
And remembering the surprise of a terrifying dark flame fireball that greeted him the moment he left his eyes from the jet-black humanoid demon, the muscular humanoid demon wouldn’t want it to happen again.
So instead of dodging the pillar and preventing the dark flames to latch onto his body, the muscular humanoid demon had once again used his fist and his bloodline power to punch the pillar of flame that was standing right in front of him, freezing the dark flame pillar and dissipating it from existence in just more or less a second.
The muscular humanoid demon nodded in satisfaction for himself as he realized the danger of following the dark flame pillar’s lead while moving at a fast speed and for his ability to break down the dark flame pillars with a single punch.
Blake could not be less surprised even after seeing the dark flame being punched out of existence for the second time. However, he didn’t plan on wasting his time staring with his mouth agape at the display of the muscular humanoid demon’s strength.
In fact, his plan had already gone into motion the moment he released his rune formations even before the dark flame pillar had come into existence.
And with the muscular humanoid demon destroying the first dark flame pillar, the nod of satisfaction that he had on his face soon contorted into wariness when he saw what lay on the ground behind the dark flame pillar.
A glowing round wood construct, of course, filled with demonic runes inscribed on its body, entered the muscular humanoid demon’s vision.
Seeing the familiar sight of rune formations, the muscular humanoid demon didn’t waste a single second to once again kick his feet against the ground, to the direct opposite side of the glowing rune formation that was on the edge of manifesting the spell contained inside it.
However, when the muscular humanoid demon’s body was just about two steps away from the rune formation, which was barely enough to dodge a spell that worked at point-blank range, the rune formation had finally activated itself and manifested a simple-looking dark earth spike from the ground that stabbed itself up towards the sky, hitting nothing but thin air.
It made the muscular humanoid demon sneer inside as he clearly didn’t expect such a simple spell to manifest itself considering the complex darkness construct that had almost hit his body a few moments ago when the jet-black humanoid demon threw his runes.
However, the dark earth spike that was as tall as the muscular humanoid demon, albeit a very simple spell, had clearly done its job well to take the muscular humanoid demon’s attention for a split second.
The dark earth spike had done its job well as it made the muscular demon unaware of the two other rune formations being thrown to his back under the cover of the placement of the dark flame pillars, being unnoticed until the last moment when nether gathered around them to manifest the spells contained inside the two wooden constructs.
