Chapter 252 - 252 Finishing The Evolution (6)
252 Finishing The Evolution (6)
[The system will begin the evolution process immediately, prepare yourself for greatness, Host!]
With the system’s voice disappearing in the background, Blake’s mind was occupied by something else as his whole body froze in place, accepting the surge of nether that came from the rich nether zone around him.
He had seen it happen to Robus and Cyra before, but when he actually felt it himself, Blake couldn’t help but think how great it was to feel his whole body filling up with newfound power that he never had before.
He hadn’t even finished his evolution process yet, but Blake could already feel every part of his body was being injected with power, a power that he didn’t have before.
He could feel his bones thickening under the baptism of high quality nether, his body feeling much lighter than before as the bones could hold out against twice or even three times the amount of pressure that they previously could.
His muscles soon followed suit, becoming more robust and powerful as Blake felt his muscles were constantly in a state of being broken down and recovering at a rapid pace while the nether washed over him.
The repeated process of breaking the muscle down and healing it resulted in the healed muscle fibers becoming a better version of themselves prior to being healed.
And with the process being done for more than 10 times already in a short amount of time, Blake could already feel how much fuller his body had become with the bones and muscles becoming stronger respectively to keep up with each other’s growth.
Not only his muscles and bones that got an upgrade, being a demon mage, of course, Blake’s nether capacity was also upgraded and the damage to his soul that he got from the necromancer was healed.
.....
Blake already felt the same amount of nether recovery speed as the one that he had back then when he didn’t receive the soul damage from the necromancer when he stepped foot on the nether rich zone, but when he felt the nether that surged towards him had touched the core of his being and healed his soul, Blake could finally feel an unimaginable amount of nether getting inside his body way faster than before.
It was as if the nether that came towards him before was riding a bicycle while the current one that came to him after he was on his full power rode a motorbike instead.
The absurd amount of nether that he had used to cast the 20-meter tall fire pillar had started recovering at a rate so fast that Blake even thought it would only need him a minute or two to completely recover that amount of nether.
But as if telling him that he shouldn’t be amazed yet, the nether that had enhanced his bones and muscles continued touching his soul as he felt his nether capacity growing once again.
Different from the nether recovery speed, an increase in his nether capacity meant that Blake could now cast even more spells at once, possibly even casting three second-realm darkness spells back to back without having to feel his body becoming sluggish due to nether deprivation.
Blake’s nether capacity kept on increasing until finally it stopped when Blake felt he could really dish out three second-realm darkness spells with an addition of several myriad of darkness tendril spells consecutively without falling flat on the ground.
And last but not least, one of the things that he had the most anticipation for from his evolution, Blake could finally feel changes happening to his wings.
His wings had been a barely functioning part of his body. It was too small to generate the force to lift Blake’s body up and fly in the sky like a bird. Fortunately, it still had its very significant uses, which was to lighten his body up by sending nether to it and it also enabled him to glide in the sky.
Having a wing that could lighten his body and make his body glide in the air was actually more than enough if Blake were to compare it to his prior physique when he was just still a normal human. But as they say, after knowing what a fully developed pair of wings could offer to him, of course, Blake would be excited to get it.
And right now, with his first ever evolution, his wish to fly in the sky environmentally friendly, meaning no explosions or charred craters would be made in the ground if he wanted to fly, would finally come true. With fully developed wings, Blake could just do the same as Vera, flapping his wings into the sky above.
Starting from a tingle on the base of his wings, the part where the two wings connected to his back, Blake could feel his wings growing rapidly as the little stumps on his back grew out, extending past his body as it now had the length to completely encompass Blake’s whole body from the sides.
Not only had the length of the wings increased, but the wideness of the wings had also grown as they now almost completely blocked out Blake’s back from being exposed to the outside.
Blake still couldn’t move his body yet as the nether was still doing its job enhancing his whole body, but he could already feel how he got taller, more robust, and his wings had also turned to full-sized wings, the same ones that Vera had.
Blake waited patiently as the nether did its job, letting the nether nourish his body and turning his body from a demon that belonged to the first demon realm to a demon that could make his own name in the second demon realm.
In the last moments before his evolution was finished, Blake didn’t feel any more changes to both his physique or his nether capacity. Rather, he felt the nether touching upon something in his being again, something related to his soul.
He didn’t notice any visible changes so Blake couldn’t tell what it was the nether was enhancing, but he guessed that it would have to do with his bloodline power or something related to it. He could always check and ask the system about it later after he finished his evolution, so Blake didn’t say anything and just waited until the evolution process finished.
Blake already noticed the thick film nether all around his body, the same one that Robus and Cyra had when they went into their evolution.
But different from theirs that were a combination of two colors, Robus having black and brown nether while Cyra having black and red nether, the nether film that wrapped around Blake’s body was pure black, not a single other color existed despite him having the affinity of the fire elements and the earth elements.
The pure dark nether just kept on revolving around his body as more and more of them entered his body before finally the thick film became thin enough that Blake could slowly see past the thick film of nether.
Behind the thinning black film of nether, Blake could see three silhouettes standing a distance away from him.
And without even having to spend a second to think whose silhouettes belonged to, Blake already knew that those were Robus’, Cyra’s, and Vera’s silhouettes just from the fact that one of the three silhouettes was a towering one that easily stood as tall as the trees.
Blake smiled as he saw the three demons patiently waiting for him to finish evolution, just like what Cyra had said. He was really happy that he got to meet those three people, people that actually cared about him and wanted him to be with them.
There was actually one more person that came to his mind when Blake thought about it. But the person was out of his reach for now. And he needed to work hard if he wanted to be reunited with said person and save her from the danger of having to fight with other stronger demons, ones that had the power to invade a world.
‘Wait for me, Amy. Three years. I will definitely find a way back to you and keep my promise.’ Blake thought hard to himself, not realizing that he had already got the control of his body back as his hands balled up into fists following his current thoughts.
And with him regaining his ability to move his body, the already thin nether film finally disappeared completely into his body and the system announced his success.
[Congratulations on your first ever evolution Host! This is a milestone that you could celebrate!]
[But don’t forget, this is only the first step! Your journey is still far from over to become the dem-]
The system’s mechanical voice was suddenly cut off as another voice appeared inside Blake’s head.
[Good job.]
Blake had never heard of the voice before. It sounded deep, but not rough like Robus’s voice. It felt unfathomable, but not overwhelming that it invaded and suppressed Blake’s mind.
The tone of the voice and how it sounds in general felt very similar to the voices that an actor would make in those history dramas if they were acting as a king.
But instead of feeling like it was just an act, the voice that Blake just heard felt that it really belonged to someone with great power, one that was way above his understanding as he got the urge to pay his respects to it just from hearing its voice.
‘Who is that…?’ Blake wondered before a shout, one that sounded very familiar, called out to him.
“Brother!”
