Chapter 115
115 [Bonus Chapter] Chapter 115: The Team
Alex spent most of the night considering his options. He could reap a lot of benefits by fighting in the war but it can be considered really dangerous. He also considered the possibility of the fame he would gain from their war, by the way making a name for himself has always been his number one goal.
The pros and cons of the offer were quite balanced but Alex didn’t dare rush to make a decision now, especially since he has time. War is a place where even A-rated deviants die without knowing what killed them. His strength at best is just at the doors of the B ratings. Jumping into a battle he is not well prepared for is the dumbest thing he can do right now.
Alex quickly shoved the thought aside and slept off. He didn’t bother thinking about it much anymore and just decided to focus on the trip tomorrow.
He had been assigned a team and not too surprising Blaze was in the team. They were meant to go through a place called sector H and kill any mutant plant or beast they see. Tasked with securing the place, Alex was made the team leader.
He shut his eyes and slept off, bearing it in mind that this may be the last time he will have a good night’s sleep on a comfy bed.
The next morning Alex walked over with his things packed in a backpack. A military van had already been prepared for them and while he walked to the pickup station, he went through the details of everyone on his team.
Blaze is about the same age as him and a pyromaniac with an unquenchable thirst for battle and challenges. He is rated C and is considered a danger both to his teammates and the enemy.
“Sounds accurate... the person who prepared this report did a good job... he should be given a bonus in his next paycheck” Alex commented.
The next was another C-rated powerless human with no beast gear whatsoever but simply dependent on martial techniques.
.....
“Interesting! I guess we finally meet again” Alex said as he looked at the picture on the document!
It was the face of the Asian kid he saw back then when he was still using his fake identity in the academy. He always knew that kid was special but he didn’t know the kid would be this special as to make C ratings with other members of the Big Four!
The remaining two were third-year students. While one is known as Mr white who is a deviant, the other is Melissa a 3rd year deviant with healing capabilities.
Alex couldn’t get much information from their report. All he knew was that Mr white was his vice so he didn’t bother much.
Arriving, he saw them waiting patiently for him. Blaze had spiky orange hair and wore a black sleeveless shirt with his camouflage trousers. His arms were filled with tattoos depicting skulls, fire, and destruction. His nose and ears were pierced, giving him the look of a true vagabond.
“God of war?” Alex read one of the tattoos on his arm and frowned. He got the feeling this kid’s report was not as accurate as he believed.
This kid is far worse!
Kung Jun had long blue hair tied back into a ponytail. He wore a native samurai robe armor without the helmet, leading Alex to believe this kid takes tradition seriously. He had a sword hanging around his waist and on his back were two spears. He gave off a warrior-like feeling each time Alex gazed at him.
The next is Mr white who was strangely dressed in a white tuxedo and a white bow tie. Alex was never the type to judge so he simply didn’t ask but he couldn’t help but admit this man gave him a refreshing feeling.
Melissa was nothing special in Alex’s opinion. She wore the normal military attire but her asserts were still bulging out fiercely, making Alex wonder how huge they are within the clothes. He had light brown hair and fair skin. She could be considered a beauty anywhere but Alex felt she was inferior to Tracy so he didn’t bother with her.
“Hello... I am Mr. White... Your vice....” Mr. White took the initiative to approach Alex making Alex wonder when third years became so nice.
An average third-year won’t be too eager to be under the command of a first year. He assumed Mr white was nice because of his background and fame so he didn’t think too much about it.
He pushed the thought aside and returned the greeting. After the small talk, Alex approached Melissa who seemed like the shy type, she always blushed when Alex spoke to her and her eyes always avoided his eyes. This made him believe she liked him or maybe that’s just the way she is
He spoke to Kung Jun who wasn’t much of a chatty person either, after the normal pleasantries, Kung Jun simply walked away leaving Alex stunned. This was the first time someone had the guts to walk out on him but he did put many thoughts into the matter and approached Blaze.
“I know my grandfather set this up! If you think you can lecture me because of your background then you are wrong!” Blaze growled the moment Alex approached him.
“Lecture you? Why would I do that? It’s nice having someone who can lead the charge and wipe out enemies... a person with an immense battle experience like you is worth twenty people... so no I didn’t come here to lecture you... I only came here to say this to you.... When the time comes, don’t hesitate, destroy them all” Alex said before walking away.
Blaze was rooted to that position with a stunned look on his face. He expected Alex to talk in favor of his grandfather because he knew both of them had a good relationship. That’s why he has never bothered to meet Alex in the past but these words struck him like lightning leaving him confused about how to feel.
“Finally someone understands that everyone has a role to play in this world! I came to destroy not create! Hahahaha! I like this guy, I should have met him earlier!” Blaze laughed before getting on the truck
