Chapter 146
146 Chapter 146: Battling tiger threat mutant beasts!
Alex was like the grim reaper. With each movement he made, mutant beasts died. He had already lost count of how many beasts he killed but one could tell they were at least fifty.
At this current stage, even the demon bat knives are useless to him so he didn’t bother with them anymore. The mad mutant beasts finally stopped running forward, looking hesitant. Even if it is a bull on steroids, it’s only a matter of time before he realizes his opponent is out of its league and is forced to retreat.
“Smart lads” Alex commented calmly as he walked deeper into the army without fear.
Before coming out he was already aware of the world situation. His main reason for doing this is simply to find out why this is happening. He had two possible reasons in his mind.
It’s either something has been deposited within various territory’s to create such reactions from the mutant beasts or something entered this world that’s making the beasts agitated.
While the second option may sound a bit crazy and unusual it is very possible, especially since he met the Danite and learned more about the Alien race.
His eyes seemed calm as he strode deeper into the army of mutant beasts, making her wonder why all the mutant beasts were gathered at one spot.
Virginia is big enough to house most of them so why are they clustered this way?
Alex frowned as he walked forward. He didn’t run. Neither did he fly but he moved at a terrifying speed!
.....
By now Alex was already far from the base. In the shadow were different kinds of beasts gazing at him coldly but none dared to attack.
Alex walked for close to an hour or two before he finally reached his destination. Just as he suspected there was a massive boulder-sized crystal lying there and emitting purple light.
“Isn’t that the artificial power source used on the enhancer prototypes?” Alex muttered calmly.
Surrounding this crystal were four mighty beasts, each at the tiger threat level. One was a massive bird and it can be considered the size of a small building. It was no different from an eagle with the only difference being its snow-white feathers and white eyes!
The second was a mutated rhino twice the size of an ordinary rhino. Its horn was golden just like its eyes. Meanwhile, there was what seemed to look like an evolved alligator, which was close to fifty meters long!
As for the fifth, it may have been hidden but Alex and the other tiger threat level mutant beasts could sense it. Just at a building next to the crystal were vines and roots completely covering it. The fierce aura coming from the vines was no different from a tiger threat level beast.
Alex didn’t stop or hide, he walked towards the purple crystal. He could tell this was the reason for the conflict. With such a power source, these beasts can evolve to the next level but they were not willing to share so they have been on a killing spree, trying to get everyone within the area to leave.
Right now the mightiest forces in Virginia were gathered at one spot. Alex’s arrival drew their attention and unlike the wolf-level beasts, these monsters frowned but didn’t attack. It seemed they could tell his strength.
“I believe I am more than qualified to be a part of this gathering” Alex said calmly as he jumped!
Landing atop the crystal with his hands wrapped around his chest. He coldly gazed at the buildings covered in vines and he could tell this is the greatest threat here. The look on the faces of these tiger threat level beasts showed they were having a problem dealing with the enemy and Alex knew why.
Unless the main root of plant-type mutant beasts is found they cannot be killed. They can indefinitely spawn vines to fight for them. They may lack quality but it has been covered with quantity! Alex even guessed that with the defeat of this beast may mark the end of the vine mutant beasts in this state so he was determined to stay and kill it.
Alex wished Blaze was at the B ratings. Dealing with something like this wouldn’t be a problem or maybe he brought little beast with him. The rabid flames would go a long way but since none of that is here he only had to use his strength to deal with the situation.
Each beast kept crying out but none of them made an attempt to attack Alex. They were torn between Alex and the original enemy, who to deal with.
Bang!
Alex’s aura surged violently as a sinister smile bloomed on his face.
Peng!
Without hesitation, he punched out creating a powerful shockwave that raced towards the building!
A strange cry could be heard as the vines surrounding the building detached and met Alex’s attack head-on!
Boom!
Vines shattered but the powerful punch was stopped, leaving the ground trembling!
The other tiger threat level beasts retreated but Alex didn’t move. He stood and watched as numerous vines erupted beneath him like a canopy, surrounding him and shielding him from the moonlight!
“If this is how you plan to win against me, then you must be high!” Alex snorted disdainfully as his body was shrouded by an invisible force, surrounding the crystal and his body and lifting them off the ground and into the sky.
The vines formed a net trying to prevent his escape but Alex frowned and punched again but this time with more power!
Kill!
Boom!
Alex shot out of the enclosure only to see more vines awaiting his arrival with the powerful bird gazing at him fiercely. It believed Alex was trying to get away with the crystal so it was ready to join hands with the vine just to put him down!
“You all will try but you will fail” Alex’s voice seemed calm but it boomed like lightning!
Cawwww!
The mighty bird cried out as it flapped its wings fiercely, releasing terrifying wind shockwaves at Alex, meanwhile, the vines raced towards him, coming from all sides including his blind spots!
