Edge of the Apocalypse

Chapter 1430: Zerka Temple (6)

Chapter 1430: Zerka Temple (6)

Lucy followed Mainne into a building that looked like a large hall. A few of the pillars supporting the hall were broken and rubble scattered all over the ground. The ornaments in the hall were much more magnificent than what Lucy and the others had seen before, but it was a pity that even Morothy was not in the mood to study the noble's dwelling. People looked out of the window.

Outside the window, the gray figure grew stronger and stronger. The wind grew stronger and stronger, and the rotating sand continued to engulf the building. In an instant, they arrived at the building where Lucy and the others were hiding. As soon as Mainne lifted a stone slab to block the window, the building shook violently and strands of dust fell from the ceiling. At this moment, it was as if the entire world was trembling.

The scholar looked up when a broken stone fell on Moroto's liquid helmet. Suddenly, his expression changed. He pointed at his head and shouted, "Look over there."

When Lucy heard this, a crack appeared in the ceiling. The crack continued to extend and split until it covered half of the dome of the hall. Suddenly, with a cracking sound, a large piece of falling rock fell down, and a large amount of sand and gravel immediately poured down from the gap in the dome. This time, the dome collapsed like a domino, sprinkling a large amount of yellow sand from above.

Just as he was about to be buried alive, a huge gravitational force appeared, sucking up the gravel, gravel, and the people in the building. Mainne's expression changed drastically. The power of the hurricane was beyond his resemblance. He only had time to shout "Be careful" when he saw all the soldiers suck it up and sweep it out of the building along with the sand and rocks that flew upside down.

Lucy also flew up. Although she was not in a state of chaos, the shield of her protective suit and the Origin Energy Barrier were opened one after another. Raising his hand to recall the Silver Winged Runner, Seven quickly wriggled in her hands, covering Lucy's arm in an instant, as if he had put a metal armor on her. Several nails shot out from the front of the armor and plunged into the wall beside it in an attempt to secure Lucy.

Unfortunately, the wind was so strong that the force of the whirlwind even peeled off the wall. The wall disintegrated in the wind and Lucy could not fly up by herself. Along the way, a two-meter-long pillar flew over. Just as it was about to hit Lucy, a petite figure shot out from under the pillar. Purple gas erupted, smashing the pillar into pieces.

Angeloni used her strength to bounce towards Lucy and hug her tightly, letting her head lie on her chest. When they encountered an obstacle, they were shattered by Angeloni's arch. The two of them were swept out of the building and flew into the air.

Lucy could barely see through the gaps, and could only see the yellow sand and all the debris in the gravel. Occasionally, one or two soldiers could be seen, but very quickly, no one could be seen. Even Marquis Mainne had disappeared.

All he could hear was the whistling of the wind. Countless sand scraped past the barriers and shields. Occasionally, large blocks of obstacles would cause Angeloni to explode in advance. In this chaotic world, Lucy could not see anything to refer to, as if she and Angeloni were the only ones left on planet Evernight.

It was at this moment that Lucy suddenly felt something strange. The golden rose fluctuated strangely, and golden roses kept appearing beside Lucy. Suddenly all the flowers swayed violently as if they had been blown by a strong wind. The petals scattered and a strong and invisible impact landed on Lucy.

She felt a headache and her vision became blurry. Angeloni seemed to be shouting something, but her voice seemed to come from a very far distance, and she could not hear it clearly.

In her trance, Lucy seemed to hear someone whispering in her ear, and the world of wind and sand in her eyes suddenly disappeared.

Her line of sight was first dark, and Lucy felt as if she had fallen into a world without light. Following that, a flame lit up. At first, the light was very weak, but gradually it became bright, and then it became dazzling. When she regained her senses, a burning world appeared in her eyes.

The sky was dancing with sparks, and the air was filled with the smell of sulfur. The pungent and pungent smell almost made her cry. Looking ahead, there were long and wide cracks in the ground. Intense flames sprayed out from the cracks, and the streams of fire were like arms stretching into the sky, swaying wildly as if they were about to catch something.

Far away, a mountain was surrounded by flames. When Lucy's gaze fell on it, her gaze suddenly narrowed, and she saw countless figures wrapped in flames climbing up the hill, and more figures falling down the hill halfway. Above the peak, the top of the mountain was sliced off, and a throne stood on the platform. There was a man sitting on the throne. He closed his eyes, but his facial features were extremely dignified. On his forehead, there was a blazing emblem between his eyebrows.

When Lucy's gaze landed on the badge, the entire badge lit up, and blazing flames sprayed out from between each line, instantly enveloping the man and the throne. For some reason, Lucy only saw a ball of fire, but she saw a pair of eyes.

His eyes were slowly opening.

Flames flashed in his eyes, as if planets were born in every instant, performing the reincarnation of the universe.

Then she saw Angeloni's eyes and her gradually clearing face. Angeloni was patting her cheek and shouting, "Your Highness, how are you? Are you hurt anywhere?"

After a few seconds of trance, Lucy came back to her senses. She held Angeloni's arm and exhaled after confirming that it wasn't an illusion. "Don't get up, Your Highness. Lie down for a while and I'll check for any injuries," Angeloni said as she tried to stand up.

She stretched out her hand and gently pressed it against Lucy's body. She sensed Lucy's condition carefully and checked her body from head to toe. Only then did Angeloni let out a sigh of relief and said with a smile, "Yes, Your Highness. It's great that you're not hurt."

"

When Angeloni helped her up, Lucy saw a long wound on her right thigh. The protective suits were cut and torn off, and the flesh and blood rolled over. Lucy hurriedly took out the medical kit and used the field surgical equipment to treat Angeloni's wounds.

When Lucy finished a brief trauma operation, Angeloni said in surprise, "I didn't expect His Highness to have such a skill."

Lucy smiled and said, "There used to be a guy who was always injured and didn't know how to take care of himself. There's nothing I can do. I can only learn some first aid. Now it's useful."

"That fellow is His Highness' beloved, right?" Angeloni blinked.

Lucy put away her things and stood up, not answering her question. Looking around, a patch of yellow sand spread everywhere, and only a corner of the building buried in the sand appeared. It seemed that the two of them were no longer on the original platform.

"We seem to be separated from everyone." Said Lucy.

Angeloni said, "I observed the surroundings when His Highness was unconscious, and it was indeed not on the same platform. Judging from the wind and speed of the hurricane, I'm afraid we have already swept a few kilometers away. Fortunately, after the hurricane disappeared, our vision became much clearer. Look, it should be the Holy Mountain, right?"

She raised her finger and saw a mountain in the distance.

Lucy nodded and asked, "Annie, did you see an illusion just now?"

"Illusion?" Angeloni shook her head and said, "You suddenly lost your willpower just now. I was only protecting you, and I didn't see any illusions."

"That's why." Lucy looked at the distant holy mountain and said, "Do you remember Mr. Morodo talking about the temple? I suspected that there was some kind of power or will in the temple, but now I'm sure. The illusion I saw just now was that there was a man. I would lose consciousness, probably because I came into contact with his will."

She put her hand on the hilt of the golden rose, and the origin path of the pistol flashed. Lucy said, "the golden rose must have sensed a threat to activate itself. It protected me, or else I wouldn't have lost consciousness so easily just now."

"If it was someone's will, then who would it be?" Angeloni let out a gasp. "And it existed a long time ago. Could it be that this person's life is infinite?"

Looking around, Angeloni said, "But having infinite life isn't necessarily a good thing. If I were to face this dying world, not to mention a thousand years, even ten years, I wouldn't be able to endure it. I would go crazy."

"I care more about who he is. However, he's already here, and the truth isn't too far away. Come on, Annie, let's go to the Holy Mountain."

"Don't you need to look for Marquis Mainne and the others?"

Lucy shook her head and said, "If Marquis Mainne and the others were here, they should know where to meet me."

Angeloni thought of the terrible hurricane and was a little scared. Thinking back to those who had been dragged into the wind circle, it was likely that the soldiers would be doomed, and only the captain and the marquis would be able to survive. As for that scholar, he was afraid that he had already become a part of the ruins.

"Come quickly, Annie."

Angeloni looked up. Lucy was already far away. She hurriedly followed closely behind Lucy. Suddenly, Angeloni felt a chill run down her spine and instinctively reached out to push Lucy. Immediately, the two of them separated, and a red light passed between them, causing a ball of flame to explode on the ground several meters away.

It was a sniper!

A wisp of purple flame lit up in the depths of her eyes. Angeloni lowered her center of gravity slightly. Her aura became extremely dangerous, like a female beast that would explode and devour people at any moment. Lucy also took out the golden rose. Now that Mainne and the defense were not around, she could no longer sit on the sidelines and watch like before.

Lucy put her hand behind her back and shook it gently. The silver bracelet on her wrist slid to the ground and quickly drilled into the sand. The silver-winged assassin had already locked onto the direction of the sniper's attack and was diving through the sand at high speed.

At this time, someone in a building hundreds of meters away scolded: "Idiot, you missed such a good opportunity, and you even called yourself a sniper expert. Bullshit expert!"

"

"Bastard Golden Card, kill yourself if you have the ability. Don't implicate me." Apparently, the sniper's voice rang out, and it continued to drift away. The so-called sniper expert had already moved his position.

"Kill as you please. Could it be that I can only rely on you? Old dog, follow me." Suddenly, a dangerous aura rose in the direction of the building. Then, a figure swept down from the building, raising a huge curtain of dust. Then, he strode towards Lucy and Lucy.
