Edge of the Apocalypse

Chapter 1484: Empress Garde 1

Chapter 1484: Empress Garde 1

The black door opened a gap through which Alice could pass, and stopped. Alice closed the metal box with her heart, put it away, and walked towards the black door alone. She entered through the crack in the door. After she passed through the black door, the giant door began to close. The door was closed, and the two figures on the door faded away one by one. The faces of the characters also became blurry, and they finally returned to their dim original appearances.

On the other side of the door, Alice was standing on a high slope. Not far from the door was a downhill path, different from the ten thousand mile plain on the other side of the door and before the abyss. Behind the door was a undulating world. Hills of varying sizes were scattered on this vast land, and winding rivers flowed on this land. However, the river was not filled with clear water, but with bright red lava. The surface of the magma was filled with bubbles. The hot air rose and the smell of sulfur floated in the air. A thunderbolt rang out in the sky. In the blinking lightning, a towering mountain peak in the distance appeared in the white lightning. It was a volcano. Occasionally, a pillar of fire would spit out from the crater. From the crater, streaks of red flames flowed down. They were the source of the lava rivers on the ground. The world inside the door was also desolate, and the only difference between it and the ten thousand mile ice field outside the door was the temperature. The ice plains were cold, but this was the world of flames!

Alice walked barefoot on this hot land. The earth was filled with green smoke, and from time to time, hot smoke or flames could be sprayed out from a crack. However, these things did not make her frown. Instead, Alice wore a smile on her face, as if she had returned to a familiar home. She even harrumphed an unknown song, and the melodies echoed in this fiery land, floating into the distance.

It took her two days to reach the foot of the volcano. Of course, she did not walk fast, and even deliberately slowed down her pace. Sometimes, she would stop and ponder under a hill, as if there were some memories of her death buried here. When she arrived at the foot of the volcano, she headed straight for a cave at the foot of the volcano that seemed to lead to hell. The cave was not dim. There was a flickering dark red flame. Occasionally, a gust of hot wind blew out, enough to steam a person. Alice was fearless, and the terrible hot wind was as warm to her as the spring breeze of March. She even opened her arms to welcome him and carefully enjoyed the feeling of the wind passing through her fingers.

Alice entered an underground hall along the winding path of the cave. There were towering stone pillars here. Every crack on their bodies was a mark left by time. The air here was filled with an ancient smell, as if the time in the hall was still very far away. Apart from the stone pillars that supported the dome, there was also a cluster of clan red moss. They were piled together like round balls that were tall. A dozen of them were piled together and covered every corner of the hall. The moss balls regularly emitted dark red flames, as if they were breathing the air of the hall. From the top of the hall, long and short vines hung down. The vines, which were also bright red, had fiery red and irregular grains on them. Red moss and vines emitted a dense energy aura.

Alice walked through the hall, and irregular red moss was scattered on the floor. These red moss were like living creatures, and their colors would change whenever Alice stepped on them. From light to darkness, then from darkness to light, then waves of light spread out, like waves in the sea. Alice stepped forward like a wave. At the end of the hall, the fire was blazing and the hot air was boiling. After stepping barefoot on several stone steps, Alice stood in front of a semi-circular platform. Beneath the platform was a world of magma. This was a lake of magma. The surface of the lake was so vast that it was suffocating. Alice spread out her arms and sang an Eboynese verse as if she were singing. The magma lake began to tremble. A circular platform rose from the center of the lake. Stone pillars rose from the platform to the shore, one next to the other, forming a passage to the platform in the center of the lake. Alice jumped onto a stone pillar without hesitation. The pillar had just risen from the magma lake, and there was still magma on its surface. Alice stepped in and immediately let out a sizzling sound. Her skin was charred black and cracked. But when she lifted her foot again, her black skin fell off and a new layer of skin had already grown inside. The speed of regeneration was so fast that it made people feel their fingers poke out.

She jumped over the stone pillars like a dancing girl to the platform in the middle of the lake. At the center of the platform rose a cylinder with a diamond pattern. Alice opened the metal box of her heart. The silver heart opened its strange eyes again, and a golden beam of light shot out from its eyes and landed on the cylinder. The diamond pattern on the pillar immediately lit up, and the pillar also sank. When it reached the top, something cried out in the depths of the lava lake. The magma began to sink like a tidal current. In front of the platform, the surface of the lake rose and fell like the surface of the sea under the storm. Alice walked to the edge of the platform, stretched out her arms and shouted loudly. Tears actually gushed out of her eyes. She was like a girl who had just returned home from wandering outside. She cried out in joy when she saw her loved ones.

With a rumble, a huge wave slammed towards the platform, smashing into Alice's body and surging across the entire platform. Alice's body was scorched black by the magma and she quickly recovered. At this moment, a pitch-black pillar could be seen rising from the center of the lake. It was said to be a pillar, but it was as large as a building. The material of the pillar was some kind of crystal. The magma couldn't stay on it for a moment, much less hurt the pillar. Through the translucent surface of the pillar, one could vaguely see a shadow inside. The shadow twisted from time to time, as if it were a living thing. If it was a creature, it would be a giant creature that was over a hundred meters tall!

After the pillar rose, half of it remained in the lava lake. At this moment, flames shone from the center of the pillar. Then, the surface of the pillar spread out in turn, and it was shaped like a rib. Within the pillar was a fiery red creature. It was like some kind of magnified insect, with a smooth, crimson shell everywhere. Its head had a huge crown bone, and beneath it was a charming woman's face. Even by human standards, this woman's face was flawlessly beautiful. However, if it was a meter tall and placed on another insect, there would be no sense of beauty. At this moment, the woman's mouth opened, and when she finally separated her face up and down to the same height, a triangular-shaped head popped out from within. There were seven or eight eyes on both sides of the head, like the compound eyes of some kind of insect. It opened its mouth and rolled out its fangs, which were filled with turbid yellow liquid.

The creature stood upright in the pillar and began to walk out of it!
