Chapter 677 - You Wouldn’t Know What You Have Until It’s Gone (1)

Su Jingyi had been enjoying her recent days, now that she had finally some time to spend for herself. There were certain activities that she wasn't able to do when she was swamped with work back at Yun Group, like trying out photography with her younger brother as she gave him a tour around Shenzhen.

"Sis, this is amazing. Why didn't you tell me that there is so much to see in Shenzhen? You're definitely hiding the gem from me!" Su Jingli exclaimed as he walked ahead of his older sister. They were taking a stroll along the busy streets of the city with a camera in his hand.

He was wearing a light blue shirt beneath a black jacket, paired with a pair of faded denim pants and flat white shoes. With his youthful face and charming personality, Su Jingyi noticed that there were so many young women who stopped in their tracks just to admire her younger brother without him noticing.

Su Jingyi hummed in response before looking heavenward and saw that the sky was clear that day. To be honest, although she had been in this city for such a long time, she rarely had time to see what Shenzhen offered to its locals and tourists.

Most of her time was spent working with Yun Zhen and they travelled around the country a lot, so whenever she had a day off from work, she would rather spend it at home, trying to catch up with the amount of sleep that she had been deprived of.

"Haven't you seen enough? How much more sightseeing are you planning to do?" She asked her brother. Ever since Su Jingli came here to "escort" her back to Shanghai, he was rarely at home with a reason that he would take this opportunity to see what Shenzhen had to offer.

"Nope. Definitely not done yet." He grinned in reply. It had been almost two months since he arrived here and Su Jingli doubted his claim that he had not seen enough Shenzhen.

What's more, he was enjoying the time spent with his sister. It had been a long time since he and Su Jingyi had any quality time together anyway. With her busy schedule at work and him fully packed with school work at the university, Su Jingli rarely saw his older sister or talked to her over the phone.

"Come on. I'm tired and hungry. Let's find a place where we can eat." He heard Su Jingyi complain. They had been walking around since morning and he didn't even notice that it was almost lunchtime.

The route they took was lined up with different kinds of restaurants and cafes that catered to the stream of shoppers daily. Su Jingli pulled his sister's arm and entered one of the restaurants together.

"Ah, are you going to treat me?" Su Jingyi asked, her eyes scanned around the restaurant and was relieved to see that it wasn't too packed with other customers.

"I thought you'd be the one who'll treat me today? I don't even have a job yet." He w.h.i.n.ed like he used to when they were younger. His older sister was a strict one, but she rarely denied him of anything he wanted, especially when it's something Su Jingyi could provide for him.

They were led to a vacant table by one of the waitresses and were handed a copy of the menu. Su Jingyi gave her brother a pointed look and shook her head. Su Jingli remained the same as before, acting like a spoiled child in front of her.

"Once you start working, you should know how to manage your personal finances." She reminded him, which only gained a scowl from her brother.

Because they were born in a middle class family, it was important for Su Jingyi to remind her brother to be aware of his finances and expenditures in the future. It was about time for her to stop being the breadwinner and teach her brother to stand on his own.

"Sis, do you really have to say such a thing?" Su Jingli complained, watching his sister scan the menu with a bored expression on her face. She was always so cool like this, it was like there wasn't anything that could bother her, well, except work and Yun Zhen.

Speaking of President Yun, Su Jingli wondered if his sister had finally mustered enough courage to walk away from the man. Su Jingli knew that his older sister rarely gave up, so for her to resign and leave her stable job to consider marriage that their parents had been trying to set up for her for years, it was a really big decision.

Since she didn't want to create any unnecessary drama by staying more than she already had with Yun Zhen, she was determined to leave. They were too old for those ridiculous things and she only wished that they would lead a better and happier life in the future, even if it meant that they wouldn't be by each other's sides.

They handed their orders when the waitress returned to their table and only waited for a few minutes before their meals were served. Su Jingli didn't waste time and dug into his food, making his sister smile at his eagerness. She hoped that he would stay as sweet like this.

"Sis, didn't you say you were hungry? Why aren't you eating?" Su Jingli stopped to glance at his sister. He narrowed his eyes and saw the amount of food she had on her plate. He knew she wasn't a picky eater and had always kept her portion so small.

"That I am." Su Jingyi replied, taking a bite of her dumpling that she had waited for to cool down a little. "I'm not sharing anything with you." She winked playfully at him.

"So stingy even with food? Ain't gonna steal your food, woman. So chill." He said in defense playfully. Su Jingli didn't care if he looked like a spoiled brat in public, as long as he could spend time with his one and only sister.
