FALLING IN LOVE WITH HIM - HER FIRST LOVE

Chapter 242 - Telepathic Bond

"I told you, you're not allowed to go back on your word," Hunter warned, a finger lifted in her direction. Hera rolled her eyes and scoffed at him. "Huh, you're not even ashamed for manipulating my brain," she accused, eyeing him with feigned disgust. Hunter gave a nonchalant shrug before adjusting his pants.

Hera's eyes accidentally fell on his crotch again, and the bulge was still very much visible. Now it was Hunter's turn to roll his eyes. He snapped his fingers, demanding her attention, and she dragged her eyes up to meet his disapproving ones. "We have a more important issue to address here," he hinted, and Hera remembered her plans with her brother.

Biting the inside of her cheek, Hera took a deep breath. Hunter was right. She had more pressing matters to focus on than fantasising about her boyfriend's anatomy. Their eyes met, and Hunter shot a charming smile her way. She let her eyes scan his handsome face admiring his facial features before staring into his purple orbs..

Hunter tilted his head, a dreamy look clouded his eyes, and he smiled involuntarily. Hera melted under the intensity his gaze held. It wasn't dirty or anything sexual. It was the purest form of love and devotion he had reserved in his heart only for her. It poured through his eyes, showering all the affection on her.

Hera lowered her head to hide her blush.

"I'm in love with you, Goddess," she heard him confess in a soft tone. It was almost inaudible as if he was speaking to himself.

Hera grinned and winked at him. "I know," she stated boastfully. Hunter adored the rosy blush dusting over the apple of her cheeks. His heart missed a beat. His goddess knew the depth of his feelings, but she didn't know that he would burn the whole world if anyone tried to take her away from him.

'Don't ever leave me, Goddess.'

He made a wish.

Taking a deep breath, Hunter walked to the window and let the cool breeze brush over his body. He loosened his tie and sat on the window sill. Suddenly, something inside felt wrong and warned him. Ever since he planned his visit to the home, a strange feeling kept disturbing him. He was scared of losing Hera.

It was a gut feeling that he would have to fight his way to reach his love.

Meanwhile, Hera collected her thoughts, plotting how to broach the topic before him. She made her way to where her dreams, her future, her life and her world awaited. Standing between his legs, Hera wounded her arms around his waist. She rested her head on his chest and listened to his heartbeats.

She felt it when his heart skipped a beat.

Hera was afraid she would lose him. It was a terrifying awareness, and she hoped everything between them stayed right. Hunter seemed lost, and Hera sensed the uneasiness in his stiffened shoulders and blamed herself. It was as if the bad energy travelled from her body to his through their telepathic bond.

"No matter what happens, we'll always find our way back to each other," Hera declared. Hunter wrapped his arm around Hera's shoulder, his fingers tucking her hair behind her ear. He smiled to himself and kissed the crown of her head. He didn't wonder why Hera said that. It was the default setting between them. One could sense the distress when the other was down.

"We always do, right?" Hera asked as if she could read Hunter's mind. He hummed his agreement.

"How do you know I'm meeting Danny after this?" Hera asked, already guessing the answer. It wouldn't surprise her if Danny told Hunter. They never kept secrets, after all. She wondered if Hunter knew what Abby and Danny were up to but hesitated to voice it out.

"I forgot to charge my phone yesterday night, and it died this morning. So I was using Danny's phone," Hunter was saying when Hera moved out of his arms and stared at him in disapproval. "You read my messages?" she asked accusingly. Hunter rolled his eyes before answering her.

"I didn't. I was playing a game on Danny's phone when your message came. I paused the game and informed him about it," Hunter said and smirked proudly at her before continuing. "My best friend asked me to check it myself instead. So I read it out loud for him," he clarified.

"Of course, you did," Hera said, scowling at him and slapped his chest playfully. She climbed the window sill, sitting sideways. Leaning her back against the wall, she placed her feet on Hunter's lap. "Do you want to know about it?" she asked hesitatingly. Hunter's hands supported her legs resting on his thighs and kept them in place.

"It's okay too if you don't want to tell me. I'm glad that you two are bonding," Hunter said in understanding. Hera smiled in relief before she made a kissy-face at him. "Does Danny do drugs?" she blurted the words without thinking. Hunter frowned at the question and shook his head in a no. "He acts a little grumpy these days, but I assure you he's not into drugs," Hunter promised.

Hunter thought about how Danny used to get annoyed at everything and was always sulking. They talked about it, and Danny had asked him to give him space when Hunter had called him out on his lie about getting involved with an older woman. Danny had assured his best friend that it was nothing serious and he would tell him if he needed help.

'Trust me, Ace. I won't do anything that would jeopardise our friendship.'

Hunter remembered Danny's promise.

Danny had asked him to trust him, and Hunter would do just that. He knew Danny would tell him everything eventually.

"Eric accompanies Danny everywhere when he goes out so that he won't get into trouble. Don't worry about him, okay. I won't let anything or anyone harm him," Hunter promised, and Hera knew he meant every word.

Certainly, Hunter didn't know the whole truth.

'Danny hasn't told him yet.'

Hera realised with a shocking surprise.

The problem had to be something serious and dangerous if he was hiding it from his best friend. Hera moved closer to her boyfriend. Leaning her head over his shoulder, she hooked her arm with his. She felt guilty for hiding it from him. "It's okay if you want to speak to him privately about his problems. Whatever happens, nothing changes between you and me or between Danny and me," Hunter said, assuring her.

Hera lifted her head to look at him. Her boyfriend knew her like the back of his hand. He always knew what to say to make her feel better. Hera smiled in gratitude while her eyes watered, overwhelmed with emotions. "It amazes me how you can read me so accurately. You see through my soul, you know," Hera admitted before kissing his cheek.

She wrapped him in her arms and buried her face in his chest, wishing to spend her forever there. "Just so you know, I'm in love with you too," Hera whispered, looking into his eyes.

Hunter dipped his head down, pressing his mouth to hers.
