Chapter 136: Opening epic chests - Pure artefacts
It took less than a minute for Lein to reach his room, which had a large door with half-body dragon statues on either side. Lein had been amazed when he first saw the dragon statues, and even now, he still admired the majestic expression on them.
Opening the door, he entered the room. It was a spacious room with four windows facing outside. Even at night, the bright courtyard lights were clearly visible from inside.
Tak... tak... tak...
The clock on the wall ticked, and Lein glanced at the large clock on one side of the room. It was 9 PM.
"As usual, let's open the Epic Chest and hope for a satisfying outcome," Lein mumbled to himself.
Since obtaining the Chest and building the special storage room from the start, he had developed a habit of opening chests for two hours before bed. It also allowed Lein to wait for his duplication talent's cooldown time to reset and perform duplication.
Lein walked over to a large bookshelf to the right of the door, a grand structure 5 meters tall and 3 meters wide. With his fingers extended, he began touching several books on the fifth shelf from the bottom. Each time his index finger touched a book's spine, a small glimmer of light would flash. Occasionally, Lein moved his hand between the books, like playing piano keys.
Drrrzz...
Suddenly, the sound of creaking followed by a loud rumble echoed. A long white corridor opened before him. Bright lights emitted from the corridor walls, making the end visible. In the distance, a shelf full of chests awaited.
Without hesitation, Lein stepped inside. He didn't take long to reach the end of the corridor, finding a room filled with gold chests neatly arranged on the shelves.
"Whew... With this much wealth, who can match me?" Lein said to himself. He had a habit of praising himself.
He quickly walked to the center of the room, where a sofa and a small table were set up for him to relax. Yes, he would perform the tedious task of opening epic chests for the next two hours.
Lein immediately opened a gold chest beside him.
(High Storage Chest)
- Storage slots: 1,000
- Item: Epic item
- Endurance: 10,000 points
All 1,000 slots of the chest contained epic chests, each slot filled with 100 items. This high-tier chest could hold up to 100,000 items in total.
Lein immediately took out an epic chest and opened it.
[Open (Epic Chest), are you sure?]
"Yes."
A purple light immediately shone from the epic chest, dazzling and beautiful, with small stars dancing around the purple chest.
[Successfully opened (Epic Chest), obtained:]
- Earth Spear - Pure Artifact x1
- Mutant Wolf Nest Blueprint x1
- High-Level Energy Crystal x10
...
"Whoa... An artifact? Hmm... I haven't gotten that before," Lein muttered to himself.
He then checked the description of the artifact.
(Earth Spear) A spear made from olixum jade crystal, containing a dense amount of earth element energy.
- Type: Active Artifact
- Grade: Pure Artifact
- Essence: 688
- Ability: (Wrath of Earth) Increases speed by 50%, increases power by 50%. Unleashes a killing move with a thousand spear thrusts, each thrust reduces the enemy's armor by 1%, the cooldown resets when this skill finishes off a target. Cooldown 5 minutes.
"Damn, a killing move? The skill activates without cooldown when it finishes off a target," Lein said, clearly surprised by the Earth Spear's description.
Lein quickly activated his duplication talent. Pure artifacts were a must to duplicate at least once. Even though his main weapon wasn't a spear and he didn't use it, it would be very useful for other things in the island's development later.
[Duplicating (Earth Spear) 10,000 times, confirm?]
"Yes."
Immediately, items identical to the Earth Spear in his hand appeared in Lein's storage ring. He had no doubts about his talent's duplication ability, even if a god stood before him in the form of an item, he would duplicate it without hesitation.
"Next," Lein mumbled. He quickly took out another chest and opened it.
[Successfully opened (Epic Chest), obtained:]
- Mid-Level Energy Crystal x250
- Ramur Armor - Level 30 x1
- Void Slash (Skill Book - Legendary) x1
...
"Legendary? Damn... why am I so lucky this time?" Though puzzled, Lein couldn't think of anyone in this realm praying for him other than himself. He didn't dwell on it and checked the descriptions of the items he had obtained.
(Ramur Armor)
- Level: 35
- Attributes: RES+230, SPD +165
- (Iron Defense): Increases armor thickness, reduces incoming damage by 20%, boosts healing effects by 15% for 1 minute. Cooldown 10 minutes.
"Just average…" Lein said after glancing at the Ramur Armor's description. Although the item level was quite high, its abilities were rather average, nothing special. He then quickly opened the description of the other item, the legendary skill book.
(Void Slash) Activates void aura on both arms for 1 minute. In void aura mode, every attack increases by 50%, speed by 50%, and attacks cannot be blocked by physical objects.
- Level: 1 (0/10,000)
- Base Damage: 40%
- Rarity: Legendary
- Cooldown: 5 minutes
- Requirement: Master, Swordsman
*Master level is 1 level above Tier-3 on Power Core: System
"Crazy... Void aura? Does that mean I can slash using the aura?" Lein exclaimed, his mind running wild. He imagined himself standing valiantly before a giant dragon, casually swinging his hand, and the void aura emanating from his arm slicing the dragon in half effortlessly.
Smack...
Lein slapped his right cheek. "Haha... This seems boring to me, but for others, who knows what their expressions would be," Lein said casually.
The longer Lein stayed in the realm of the Divine Sky with the system's presence, the more he loved and appreciated everything he had achieved and gained. He had once thought little of himself for not securing first place in the system's first event.
But look at what's happening now. His 13 million points would never be surpassed until the event ends in three days.
"YOSHH... Next!" Lein shouted, cheering himself up.
Lein actually wanted to use the legendary Void Slash skill right away, but he couldn't because his level was still 50 Tier-3. To reach master level, he needed to exceed level 50 and undergo a promotion to the master rank.
And so, Lein continued his tedious work of opening hundreds of epic chests alone in the very quiet room.
