Chapter 234: Bad Day for Making Elixirs

Yang Shi didn't have any proficiency in pill refining, but it doesn't impact on making elixirs. After extracting the essence, the hardest part of making an elixir is calculating the proportion and the effects of mixing the essence of different herbs.

" Let's start with Body Cleansing Elixir." Yang Shi thought.

Even without the memory of the Samsara Emperor, Yang Shi got a good amount of knowledge about various elixirs in the ancient records of Earth. 

Since the Earth didn't have anything like alchemical pills, the most viable things were elixirs.

There were various types of elixirs used in ancient times, like- Longevity Elixirs, which can revitalize human cells and extends lifespan. Various types of rare and exotic herbs were used to make these elixirs.

There were Body Strengthening Elixir, Disease Repelling Elixirs, Poison Curing Elixir, Sense Enhancing Elixirs recorded in various tomes.

As for the poison refining method, the Heaven Evasion Lightning Stealth manual contains more than a hundred types of poison brewing methods.

Yang Shi was amazed that the ancient humans created so many medicinal formulas with such variations of herbs. But as modernization began, many of the precious herbs went extinct or mutated. So these formulas became useless for the later generation

Yang Shi felt that using these as a reference isn't a bad idea. Although getting those exact herbs is impossible, getting herbs with similar yet greater effects is easy. In this cultivation world, wondrous natural treasures are filled everywhere.

Even a normal elixir can become a hundred times powerful in this world. Yang Shi didn't want to rely on the Samara Emperor's memory too much, so he wanted to test his own comprehensive limits.

He heated the cauldron and added herbs after herbs. Since he was in the experimental stage, he took very few amounts of herbs.

His left arm was sorting medicinal herbs and adjusting their proportion while his right hand was controlling his spirit flame.

Yang Shi was used to working with exceedingly high temperatures as it was needed to melt metals. But now, he needs to use his flames in very subtle temperatures as they are refining medicinal herbs. A minute change can just burn every herb to ashes.

" Damn, It's like suddenly working something completely opposite." Yang Shi was annoyed as he was having a pretty difficult time refining the medicinal herbs. Moreover, the amount of herb was much less than the average pill refinement consumes.

" What should I do? Eh?! Wait!" Yang Shi was distracted for a moment when suddenly, his expression changed.

*POOF*

All the herbs suddenly got charred by the fire as they turned into ashes. Although Yang Shi was expecting to fail, he didn't think that he will fail even before the first step.

In pill refinement, there are three major steps- Refining Ingredients, extracting the essence, and the final step, condensing the pill. 

As for Elixir brewing, after extracting the essence, the pill condensation is replaced by the step called- Essence Blend.

" Hell, I failed before the Essence extraction step." Yang Shi sighed as he cleaned the cauldron. After adding ingredients, he started alchemy again.

The second time, third time, Yang Shi tried at least a dozen times, but he failed in all of them.

" someeems today isn't a good day for it. I will try again after come thinking."

Yang Shi wiped his sweat as he stopped elixir refining. Every time he reached the Essence extracting stage, his flames would burn the herbs. No matter how much he tried to lower hi temperature he didn't succeed.

" I am doing something inaccurately." Yang Shi pondered as he opened the door.

It was already evening as Yang Shi suddenly felt hunger. Surprisingly, There was already food on the table. Bai Ruxue was adjusting the plates as she saw Yang Shi coming out.

" Young master, You are out. I have already prepared dinner." Bai Ruxue nodded as she looked at Yang Shi, " You should take bath before eating."

" You also didn't clean yourself after you trained in the courtyard, did you?" Yang Shi asked as he looked at Bai Ruxue with an evil gaze.

" It seems young master needs me to clean his body in the bath? Why be so roundabout?" Bai Ruxue immediately understood Yang Shi's intention as she snorted lightly.

" Since you already know, Why wait?" Yang Shi laughed lewdly but suddenly light flashed as a figure appeared.

" Ah, this food smells nice. It's been a while since I have eaten outside. Eh, why are you guy looking at me like this?"

It was none other than Jin Yu, who came out of her hiding place. Yang Shi's face turned dark as he lamented at the unfortunate timing of the appearance of Jin Yu.

" Little Sister Jin, so you are here." Bai Ruxue coughed awkwardly as she greeted Jin Yu. 

Although she didn't know much about Jin Yu, she knew that she is an important figure for Yang Shi.

" Oh, Hello Sister Bai. Did you prepare all these?" Jin Yu asked as she looked at her. Yang Shi felt that both of the girls are avoiding him.

" Here goes my bathroom plan." Yang Shi sighed as went to take a quick bath.

" So, How is Xiao Hei doing?" Yang Shi asked as he was eating his meal.

" Pretty nice. I am helping him to awaken his bloodline memory and so far, it is going smoothly."

" The Sword Feather Condor is indeed a powerful species. It can be considered as a noble bloodline among the demon beasts." Jin Yu replied as she stuffed a piece of meat in her mouth.

" Wow! This tastes so good!" She exclaimed as her eyes sparkled. " Haha, If little sister wants, I will cook for her every day." Bai Ruxue smiled lovingly.

" Yay!" Jin Yu cheered as she gobbled up the food.

" What were you doing all these days inside the golden egg?" Yang Shi asked curiously.

" Same as always. I was using your strange energy to slowly refine my curse. But It seems I have reached a bottleneck." Jin Yu frowned.

" Sky Corroding Evil Immortal Curse is one of the great curses known in existence. To cast it, the caster must have paid an enormous price as well." Yang Shi said.

" You have refined most of it by my Internal Energy, but the core part is still there. Nonetheless, the danger of it has lessened significantly. "

" But because of this, I can't progress in my cultivation." Jin Yu said with an annoyed tone. " Anyway, I am planning to stay outside for a few days. It's very boring inside my abode." She stretched her hands.

' Eh?" Yang Shi was startled, but suddenly he noticed that the plates were emptied up already.

" The fuck?! Where is the food?" Yang Shi was startled.

" Burp."

Jin Yu burped as she wiped her mouth. " What food? You guys are eating so slowly." She commented.

" What a glutton. You should remember that you are currently in the humane form." Yang Shi pinched his forehead as he spoke. Bai Ruxue was giggling as she saw the development.

" So what? Humans eat so less? It's not enough to fill my stomach." Jin Yu snorted.

Yang Shi could only sigh after he heard Jin Yu.

" You should go and sleep with Ruxue. I won't come to sleep tonight." Yang Shi spoke as he went back to forge more weapons.
