Chapter 660: Glass Pinecone

Chapter 660: Glass Pinecone

[Dynamic Field Dungeon <Glass Fortress> Cleared]

Sylas took deep breaths, his arms opening up to allow the Glass Monkey to fall to the ground.

His heart felt like it was beating out of his chest, but he still kept his wits about himself for long enough to dismiss his Fusion and Semi-Fusion.

That constant bursting pain in his head finally dimmed away as he exhaled the last of his breath.

He began to control the remainder of the medicinal effects to cool and heal the rest of the injuries lingering in his body. Whether it was the Fusion with Nosphaleen, or the after effects of <Cryobane Evolution>, his body would need time to recover from both. Luckily, there were still more than enough of the Elixirs left over. They were meant to last an entire day, after all. Sylas exhaled a final deep breath and he finally bent down to retrieve the Glass Monkey's Gene Crystal. Unfortunately, he would have to sacrifice what Genes it had to the altar of his Class, but regardless, it would benefit him greatly.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

[Rewards]

[>Glass Pinecone (Aether Treasure)]

[>Glass Tail (Living Treasure)]

[>Glass Monkey Slayer (Title)]

[>Glass Desert Territory Key (Treasure)]

[>Glass Pyramid (Fortress)]

Sylas found it very interesting that the bottom three rewards were practically mirrors of the Woodland Spider Queen Field Dungeon. There, he had also gotten a Title, a Treasure, and a Fortress. Here, it mirrored that perfectly.

The Title was also something quite interesting...

[Woodland Spider Queen Slayer (FFF+) (Title)]

[You have slayed a Queen of Spiders. Hatred of beasts that follow Her charge increases, but you Fear them not.]

[F-Grade Spiders below the Woodland Spider Queen in rank suffer a -20% debuff to ALL stats when facing you]

[Glass Monkey Slayer (Title)]

[You have slayed a King of Monkeys. Hatred of beasts that follow His charge increases, but you Fear them not.]

[F-Grade Monkeys below the Glass Monkey in rank suffer a -50% debuff to ALL stats when facing you]

They were perfect mirrors of one another as expected. But more interestingly to Sylas was the fact that they also somewhat mirrored his Legendary Path Talents.

Of course, this was obviously a far weaker version.

For one, his Beast Totem worked against all snakes of the F-Grade regardless of rank. Plus the fact that he could suppress them by 100%.

Still, the odds that he would run into a monkey beast stronger than the Glass Monkey, at least one on Earth, was very low. He had yet to run into a situation where such a Title would be useful, but he was sure that he could gain something from it in the future.

Maybe one day it would save his life.

'A Living Treasure...'

It wasn't long before Sylas figured out what it was. It was like a Symbiote, but far less intrusive. He also likely didn't have to worry about it swallowing him up. In fact, it was like a perfect mirror to a Demon Treasure.

It fused into the body and became a part of yourself. In this case, it was the Glass Monkey's tail.

During their battle, Sylas had practically made the tail moot because of his movement speed. Plus, it was very easy to predict because out of fear, the Glass Monkey had made it far too long. With it swinging in such wide arcs, it wasn't even a factor in their battle.

Of course, this tail would be quite useful if you used it properly. It was just that...

Sylas already had too many tail abilities.

It was ironic considering the second Gene Talent he had ever received was Tail Whip. But since then, he had gained his Basilisk Tail from Fusion, and the Scorpion Warlord Armor.

In fact, just by virtue of his Vipermancer Class, he had a ton of tails to choose from. Soon enough, he'd likely have a new tail for each one of his Contracts. He certainly already had one from the Bone-Tailed Lizard.

Plus there was the concern that this Living Treasure would react much the same way the Blackened Claw would. It would be destroyed before he would have to rebuild it to form a much weaker Treasure than what was here... all for it to get in the way of his other forms.

'It's not entirely a loss... The Scorpion Warlord Tail is a very complex series of Runes, and the second and third layers are even more so. If I study this tail, maybe I gain some inkling toward what a more complex form of the Scorpion Warlord Tail might look like...'

Unlike the Demon Treasure, Sylas could actually understand the Runes of this one. That would go a much further way toward helping him.

[Glass Tail (Bronze) (Living Treasure)]

[Gain the abilities of a King of Monkeys, an extra limb and a scepter of great power. Wield the Glass Elemental Mancer Path as though it was your second nature]

[Durability: 100/100]

He also wasn't thrown off by the "poor" grade. As he had already confirmed, the type of item was often more important than the Grade.

An Aether Treasure would always be more valuable than a normal Treasure, and the same was true of a Living Treasure. Especially since according to the Madness Key, this Living Treasure had an ability that other Legendary Path Treasure might not necessarily have...

It could progress to the E-Grade along with its owner.

This should be a unique quirk allowed by it fusing into the body. This was, quite honestly, huge. So, Sylas was unwilling to casually ruin it with his Scorned Wraps.

Plus... he still had an Aether Treasure here, one that quite interestingly reminded him of the

Mountains of Giza...

And its Grade was truly something else.

[Glass Pinecone (Gold) (Aether Treasure)]

[The Seed of Hope birthed from the Tears of Earth's Ancestors. Once a beacon of humanity, it has become the symbol of endless strife and terror. The world sits upon a Throne of Glass.]

[Combine with compatible Aether Treasure to unveil something truly special]

Sylas' first Gold Grade Treasure had appeared.
