Chapter 711: Worldshard Jade
Chapter 711: Worldshard Jade
Sylas' eyes sharpened, forgetting for a moment that he was in the middle of such a dangerous excursion.
This change was simply too huge.
'Do I have 300 Bronze Genes right now?'
Sylas hurriedly checked through his inventory and confirmed that he did. After a moment of hesitation, he pressed forward and asked the question.
The only reason he hesitated was because he didn't know if it was even worth it to learn the truth right now. It wasn't like it would be helpful in his present situation.
But in the end, there was no immediate danger, and even swimming through the lava had become a joke thanks to the upgrade of his Scorned Wraps, so there was no need to do everything by the book.
[What is this item?]
[This jade is made of a precious material known as Worldshard Jade. Worldshard Jade is known for being capable of storing exceptionally powerful Aether Treasures, the kind that normal storage devices cannot withstand the power of, but this is just the most common use. Worldshard Jade is capable of holding the Spark of a World, carrying it and nurturing it until it births a new world of its own. However, Worldshard Jade cannot reach this full potential without first being planted into a worthy vessel.]
It was a response that was enough to leave a man speechless. This was certainly not what Sylas was asking about.
It had to be remembered that Sylas' skill was unable to scan this jade, so he assumed that the jade and the item within it were one in the same.
But it seemed that this was the incorrect assumption to make.
The good news was that the Worldshard Jade was probably at least as valuable as what was inside, if not far more so.
The bad news was that he hadn't learned what he actually wanted to.
Sylas had learned to strike a balance with the Madness Key between vague and specific questions. If he was too specific, its response would often miss the forest for the trees. But if he was too imprecise, it would likewise give a short and succinct answer.
However, if he asked a broad question that was about a specific enough scope, he would often get a great, detailed response, that might touch on things he hadn't considered before. This was why he had asked such a "vague" question, because this was the perfect situation to do
So.
Although he had thought about directly mentioning the Genesis Forge, he had no idea if that was referring to an external item that wasn't here or the obelisk itself.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
'I only have 50 or so Genes left... it might be a wasted, but I guess I should check first.'
[What does this Worldshard Jade store?]
This time, Sylas well and truly almost laughed at the absurdity of it all. That wasn't because the response was too expensive... but rather because it was far too cheap.
It cost the same as a normal question. With the reset of the Madness Key, it only required Fragmented Genes.
He was right. The Worldshard Jade was actually far more valuable than the Genesis Forge within.
[What does this Worldshard Jade store?]
[This Worldshard Jade stores a Worldroot. A Worldroot is a treasure forged at the heart of a World, tempered by Progenitor Flame. This Worldroot, known as Genesis Forge, serves one particular function, and that is to spark the evolution of its holder, advancing a user's Race from F-Grade to E-Grade.
This Worldroot, however, seems to be incomplete, missing two pieces. Should it be completed, there is potentially a path to advancing one's Race to D-Grade.]
Sylas' eyes practically blazed like radiant lanterns when he read this. This was huge.
Maybe to the Madness Key, the Worldshard Jade was more valuable. But as things stood right now, Sylas couldn't even think of how to maximize it outside of storing living creatures in there.
Of course, he couldn't do that with the obelisk within. Last time he went in there, he felt like his entire body was almost crushed. In fact, now that Sylas thought about it, it must be thanks to the Worldshard Jade that this was even possible. The reason his physical body had been harmed was because his physical body had been what went inside!
That said, others might struggle with storing something as powerful as the Genesis Forge obelisk, but didn't Sylas have the Madness Key? Could he put the obelisk within and then use the jade freely?
'Easier said than done. I would have to be able to envelope the obelisk in my telekinesis to take it out, but I couldn't even look at it without almost dying before...'
For now, Sylas could only slot this matter to the back of his mind. A chance to upgrade his Race was too shocking.
He had asked the Madness Key before about what the difference between F and E-Grade Races were, and the list was too long to account for entirely.
But the main points were that E-Grade Races had a much easier time progressing to E-Grade strength, they had a more forgiving State of Wealth versus State of Expenditure, and their Stat, Gene, and Gene-Stat Limits were likewise higher.
Taking Sylas as an example, if he was an E-Grade Human before absorbing any Gene Crystals, even with Blade Aura nerfing his stats, it wouldn't be a surprise if his base Stat Limit had been 100 instead of 50.
A high Race Grade would mean that his Dual Class Constitution would stretch further. Essentially, Race was located deeper in the body than his Constitution was. As such, his F- grade Race was actually limiting just how good his Dual Class Constitution really was.
Elevating his Race would raise the tide for his entire body.
This was only the first point.
If he was able to become a D-Grade Human while still F-Grade in strength, that sort of advantage would start impacting even his Genes themselves directly.
If he was a D-Grade Human, he would be able to absorb F-Grade Gold Genes even without a corresponding Gene Crystal to allow it.
