It was a man whose appearance made him look like someone in his 30s, but the look in his eyes told that he was someone who had been through his share of battles. From the edge of the armor, one could see a small scar spreading up to his neck. After stepping out, he looked at the person who just replied to his words.

"Why are you still here, Captain Hu Fei? You could have gone there by yourself and dealt with the intruder." Leaning against the wall of the building stood a woman. Her face was turned in the direction of the battle where she could sense several auras flickering.

Hearing the question of her fellow captain, the woman named Hu Fei turned her head to face the man's grin with a cold look on her face. Her eyes were as cold as ice when she opened her mouth to speak. "Someone told me that the intruder came face to face with Captain Black Sword."

"Are you serious?!" The grinning look on the man's face was wiped away as soon as it appeared. Instead, his eyes were filled with disbelief. "That guy is back already? Why did he let the intruder run away then?"

"You know that Captain Black Sword is not just any captain." With a solemn look on her face, the woman shook her head. "But if that intruder managed to get past that man, it means there is something more to this intrusion than meets the eye."

"Are you suggesting there is something big going on behind the scenes?" The man frowned hearing Hu Fei's words. 'Hu Fei is not the type of woman to back down from challenges, but she is also a smart woman. If she did not go to fight that intruder, it only means one thing.'

"We should both go there together and see what that person is capable of."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"So you really want to fight together." The man tilted his head with a grin on his face. Hu Fei could not help but feel that things would not go as she wanted them to go. "But, I refuse!"

"Are you mad, Bai Chen?" Hu Fei scowled in annoyance. Seeing the battle intent in his eyes, she could more or less guess what was going on in that man's mind.

Just as he was about to finish his words, a deafening roar cut him off. Hearing the sound, Hu Fei and Bai Chen turned their heads and saw a dragon tearing apart a mammoth with its jaws and soaring through the skies along with it.

The image of the dragon reached the veil and exploded, obliterating the attack!

"Was that the military formation attack?" The white-haired man asked Hu Fei for confirmation.

"That formation can crush first-level Core Formation Realm cultivators like ants." Hu Fei sighed seeing the same attack being crushed by an unknown force. "Why is that so weird? I could not sense any qi from it?"

Bai Chen did not hear the last part she muttered under her breath. At that moment, the feral grin plastered on his face was enough to show that he was not fazed by the enemy's attack.

"That attack must have caught everyone's attention… we should also go–" Hu Fei turned to face her fellow captain only to notice him missing from the spot.

"That idiot! He only lives to fight strong opponents no matter the cost." Hu Fei slammed her fist into the wall in anger. Taking a deep breath, she also disappeared from her place.

"Is this for real?" All the exhausted soldiers looked at the intruder in front of them with despair.

"Just how powerful is that guy?!"

"Even someone in the fifth level of the Core Formation Realm cannot remain unscathed taking that attack head-on." All of them expressed their disbelief.

"Just where are the captains? We are going to get killed!!!" While some were still holding hopes that they would be saved by the stronger guards in the palace, some had already started to lose their cool.

Seeing their panicked faces brought a smile to the face of the intruder.

"Now then, that was a nice attack you just performed." The young man suddenly spoke up, making everyone hold their breath. "I should also be given the chance to attack back, right? It's only fair~"

The look of hope on their faces vanished with the blood. Fear gripped their hearts, making them dread the next actions of the man.

All of their qi was drained from the previous attack, which made it more difficult for them to move from their places before the man could attack.

When those words left his mouth, the man exploded his cultivation.
