Chapter 396 Another Powerful Attack!
*Crackle!*
The smile on the boy's face faded. He lowered his head and glanced at the sword in his hand. It had been severely damaged in the previous exchange rendering it useless.
Hu Fei did not know why, but unlike her fellow captain, she had been having a bad feeling. 'Something is not right.'
*Shatter!*
The boy raised his hand and clicked the sword, causing it to shatter. "These Rank 2 weapons are too weak to withstand a move I barely used any strength to make."
He threw the sword into the rubble of rocks around him.
"What are you blabbering? Did you lose it, realizing that you made a mistake picking the wrong fight?" Bai Chen mocked the boy, seeing him muttering to himself. "Are you too afraid to tell me your name?"
*Boom!*
"Don't worry, I will still kill you even if you don't tell me!" Bai Chen launched himself forward while loudly antagonizing his enemy. He used all of his strength, which caused his figure to appear like a blur.
"Is that so?" Bai Chen stepped right beside the intruder and was about to smash his hammer down. But the boy looked directly into his eyes as if he had been waiting for him to do that.
*Bang!*
'Let's see how long you keep bluffing!' With that thought, Bai Chen slammed the hammer down once more. This time the attack connected, but not in the way he imagined. The boy, who appeared half his age, stopped his full-power attack with his bare hands.
"Bai Chen, was it? Listen and remember, remember to fall in despair!" The boy looked over the hammer straight into the man's eyes and added, "My name… is Nuo Yan."
"One more thing, I haven't even used 4% of my power until now~"
*Boom!*
As soon as he finished that, he punched Bai Chen straight in the gut over his armor. The armor caved in, sending the man flying.
Hu Fei's expression darkened seeing the scene. 'That bastard couldn't even fight on equal terms, let alone overwhelm the enemy.'
'Looks like I have to use that!'n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
*Bang!*
Nuo Yan turned to look at her, hearing her banging her spear on the ground.
*Woosh!*
"I will use everything to stop you from moving forward." Hu Fei exclaimed in determination as a huge amount of qi gathered all around her body.
The wind started to flutter her hair. The qi from the surroundings gathered around the tip of the spear.
"What an interesting spear." Nuo Yan commented, seeing the spear glowing with different glyphs all over it. "Is that an array?"
"So you can tell that." Hu Fei exclaimed out loud, hearing what Nuo Yan said. Her eyes looked at the boy with the same coldness she had from the start. "Even if you know it, there is no way you can stop this attack by yourself. This attack is something that even the other captain cannot take head-on."
"But even then you are still one of the lower-ranking captains, right?" Nuo Yan teased her about her rank. His words caused a vein to pop on the woman's head. If one thing was certain, it was that Hu Fei did not like people mentioning her weakness.
Being a woman, she had to face a lot of things to get where she was at the moment. And even now she had a long road filled with thorns ahead of her.
"Isn't it because this attack of yours takes too long to prepare and anyone can beat you while you do that." The young man continued speaking without any care for her expression. "Even though your attack is more effective when you're on the battlefield. But here…"
"That's all it takes to stop you and kill you." The boy disappeared before reappearing behind the woman. Feeling a cold finger touching her neck, Hu Fei just froze. She could feel her blood turning cold.
But before she could wrap her head around what just happened, the feeling disappeared with the boy. To her shock, she was still standing in the same place he was before.
Seeing this, she clenched her hands into fists. "What did you just do?"
With her flaring qi, the spear before her rose to the sky, charging up with all the qi in the area.
"I didn't do anything. I have been standing here for a long time." Nuo Yan smiled at the enraged woman.
"I don't care about it anymore! Haa!!" Hu Fei shifted the spear in the direction of her enemy.
*Woosh!*
*Crack!*
The ground started to melt from the heat coming from the spear. The pressure from the weapon caused the ground to split open on the surface.
The cracks got wider and wider as the spear started to spin. Sparks of energy flew from it, striking the ground.
"What a flashy attack~" Hu Fei's eyes turned colder, seeing how her enemy still refused to take her seriously.
*boom!*
She threw the spear at Nuo Yan. A trail of blaze was forged in the path the spear took to reach the boy.
Tearing through the air, the spear appeared before the boy in less than a breath's time and was about to pierce through his chest, killing him in the process.
*Screech!*
A loud noise of two metals colliding filled the area. Hu Fei pressed her hands against her ears, protecting them from tearing apart.
She had been expecting an explosion, and all she heard was the sound of metal grinding. Not taking any chances, she jumped back immediately and looked at the sight.
Her face lost color when she saw the boy standing there, holding the spear she had launched with his bare hands.
*Screech!*
The sound continued to spread, but it started to tone down. Hu Fei could not believe that the boy was holding the spear even when it was burning his hands.
"What…?" Hu Fei muttered in disbelief when she saw the flames from the spear burning Nuo Yan's hands.
"My.. my~ What an attack!" The boy grinned and twisted his body to shift the power behind the attack into the air.
*Boom!*
What do you think?
