Anyway, both Minerva and Tieria use guns as their primary weapon, so they are soon assigned to take a position at the back to protect most of the miners.

Meanwhile, everyone just barely rested before the second horde arrived. Because of the unexpected horde of Zombies, they had to spend more time eliminating it instead of recovering…

As they heard the commotion, many of them, still resting, immediately stood up and returned to their position. They heard the earth tremble as the horde approached.

Nonetheless, because of Shane's Healing Tokens and Safety Tokens, they were confident that they would be able to deal with this horde as well.

The battle continued as they faced a horde of zombie dogs, with several Survivor Zombies included in them… This battle lasted for more than 30 minutes but in the end, they were able to protect the wall and it barely had any damage.

When the third horde arrived, their defenses were put to the test as Spitter Zombies surged forward. Each one was throwing streams of acidic saliva that sizzled on contact with any surface.

Thankfully, there was a hint of silver plating on their walls, so the wood didn't get too damaged.

Behind these Spitter Zombies, who stayed at a distance, there were five Spitter Monster Zombies moving slowly.

They were all bloated, with dark green skin, almost like a ball. What was terrifying about them was the distance of their spit.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Powerful jets of acid splattered across the camp's outer defenses. Thankfully, the two Turrets were able to use the Incendiary Bombs to deal with the spit mid-air…

Furthermore, the Beginner Shelter Crystal's Defense and Durability Boost had also helped them endure the attack…

Nonetheless, there were just too many of them. Their area was filled with the sound of bubbling acid against metal and wood.

The once-sturdy outer barricades of the camp began to weaken under the corrosive attacks.

Diana, who was watching from a central vantage point, issued swift orders to the forces supporting Shane on the front line.

"Archer team, aim for the heads! It doesn't matter if you pierce their skull…" She commanded…

"The Turrets will focus on the Spitter Monsters—it will not let them reach the wall!"

Just like that, the elves and the rest of the defenders released a rain of arrows from the watchtowers…

Thankfully, the Spitter Zombies weren't too tough… They even seemed a lot easier to kill as arrows punctured the heads of Spitter Zombies.

However, the problem with these Zombies was the fact that they could explode upon their death.

Nonetheless, it didn't matter to Shane as he had enough Safety Tokens to protect him.

This time, the Automated Turrets switched their ammunitions and shot energy bullets into the approaching Spitter Monsters.

Their massive frames made it quite easy for the Turrets not to miss their joints and limit their movements.

Soon, the Spitter Monsters staggered under the barrage…

"Perfect…" Shane muttered as he watched the progress…

Thick greenish blood spilled from the bullet holes on their bodies… Though they were still able to move for a little while, the sustained fire eventually brought them down, leaving their bodies piled up just outside the Grinder, ensuring the deadly machine remained untouched…

Unfortunately, Shane's SWAT Uniform was in terrible condition during the whole duration of this horde, so he had to change into his Rock Python Set, which could increase his Agility and Defense for the next Zombie Wave.

'Wait… Slime-Coated Codpiece?' Shane wryly smiled after seeing this, but he suddenly felt hesitant to wear this set.

'What would it look like?' Shane mused. Well, he was also curious what kind of set effect he would obtain once he wore all of them. As long as he wouldn't become a slimy creature, he should be able to tolerate it.

Anyway, Shane decided to just wear his Rock Python's Set for now, as it could increase his defense by a lot.

Soon, the Zombie Wave continued.

By the fifth horde, fast-moving Zombies started rushing at them.

Runner Zombies sprinted toward the camp at breakneck speeds, flanked by Violent Hurdler Zombies that hurled themselves over obstacles with incredible agility.

Jumper Zombies leaped at the outer barricades, clawing their way up with inhuman strength, while five terrifying Licker Zombies slithered along the ground, their long tongues were used like deadly whips. Each new wave of zombies pushed the defenders closer to their limits.

Without hesitation, Shane wore his Exosuit back.

He decided to ram it against the Zombies to stop their momentum!

He was able to intercept the incoming undead because of this move.

While being surrounded by the Zombies, he punched through the skulls of Runner Zombies, using every ounce of the suit's remaining energy to keep them at bay.

"Bring it on!" Shane also felt his adrenaline as he fought hard.

Of course, he wasn't alone.

The elves, positioned in the towers around the perimeter, rained arrows down in coordinated waves.

Their only probably was the existence of the Licker Zombies. They were intelligent and vicious as they used their tongues to target the Elves and the gunmen on the towers… They had completely ignored the Grinder!

They immediately yanked two of the gunmen off their platforms before the elves could kill the creatures with well-placed arrows.

Shane targeted the remaining Lickers swiftly, using his suit's enhanced speed to close the distance. He struck them several times and crushed their heads with each. But as the last Licker Zombie fell, he felt the Exosuit's power drain with a final flicker. Furthermore, it was also heavily damaged and needed to be repaired.

Thankfully, this happened after they cleared the Zombie Wave.

'Fine… Let's do this…' Shane muttered.

The Tactical Sentinel Combat Exosuit shut down completely, leaving Shane to rely on his own strength and skills. He had no time to repair it this time.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Shane quickly regrouped with his team and informed them of the new plan. "Exosuit's done. We'll have to handle this the old-fashioned way."
