Chapter 125: Chapter 125 – Congratulatory Reward
Greatest Steamer System. Max couldn't really understand how it worked, but he knew it would reward him for his success in finishing a quest. He didn't think it could reward him outside the quest, either.
Max stayed in the café after he saw Mr. Taka out. The marketing team leader was so busy because he was about to be promoted to manager for his achievement.
After he was left alone, he looked at his system. Because there was no quest yet, he couldn't even bring up the window, but there was already something clear that he could feel.
'My VR body has become lighter.' He thought, clenching his fist under the table. 'The SR that got limited to 95% is now returning to normal. What a bummer, I can't stream as long as before again then.'
With his SR returning to normal, above 98%, his time inside the game would also be limited. He would get exhausted faster in return for an increment in his overall performance.
Unexpectedly, the system had already updated his channel's 'About Me' and put Biozone Entertainment's logo and link in it. The verification sign that he was the affiliated streamer would be given as soon as Mr. Taka finished the procedure.
Also, he wouldn't be surprised if his loading screen had also changed. There would definitely be a Biozone Entertainment logo in it now.
And then that congratulatory reward…
'I wonder what the system sent me.' A smile formed on his face as he brought up the menu and logged out.

When Max arrived at his new apartment after a gym session with his trainer, everything was already set nicely. A VR capsule was sitting beside the large bed in the master bedroom, and the stack of boxes filled with his clothes was put on its side.
He had to admit that the moving company in this world was efficient. They also just entered through the window using a drone instead of bringing everything up manually through the stairs.
"And all of that is for $300 only. How cheap." He huffed in satisfaction and turned to his bed.
On it was sitting a small box, wrapped nicely like a gift, complete with a red ribbon.
"And that should be the system's congratulatory gift. It's smaller than I expected." He said as he took the box and examined it.
The box was just a little bit bigger than his palm, and it was light to the point he could lift it with one finger without any problem. What was inside, he wondered.
'I won't know what's inside unless I open it.'
Opening the box, Max's heart was beating faster in excitement. He slowly unwrapped the ribbon and opened the lid. The memory of him getting that liquid that allowed him not to get fatigued flashed in his mind, immediately increasing his expectation of the reward from the system.
When the lid was completely open, he saw a golden ticket sitting on a soft, red cushion. The ticket had a leaf decoration on its surface and gleamed from the sunlight from the window.
"A golden ticket?" Max muttered in confusion as he took the ticket.
Upon closer inspection, there were words written on the back of the ticket.
<A miracle ticket. Rip it and witness a miracle. PS. Only use it when you are forced to and can't find any way out. 1 time use only.>
The explanation was vague, but the name made him squint his eyes.
'A miracle ticket, huh?'
If other people had given him this ticket, he might have shrugged it off and just thought of it as a way to make him feel good.
However, this ticket was given by the system, which could magically put the latest VR capsule into his room without anyone noticing. He could not just brush it off as a simple ticket.
'I guess I will keep it inside the box and put it inside the closet for now.' He thought.
For a congratulatory reward, this was more than enough. The best part was that his system was now back online and could give him more quests. That meant more rewards were waiting for him.
His motivation was shot through the roof.
'It's time to make a recruitment video.'
Moving toward the living room, he set the camera and the wireless microphone. He connected both to his smartwatch like usual and tested a few seconds of recording before going to the real deal.
The files would be saved in the cloud, which meant there was no need for a large memory device. It was all digital.
Because he had often recorded his parkour vlog back in his previous life, he understood the basics of recording and how to talk in video. It wasn't that much different from streaming, but he kept it simple and on point instead of joking around.
It only needed him 3 shots to get a satisfying result. Then, he proceeded to edit and make the unique hashtag used for his contest.
"Hmm, this is already good. #BreezeContest and #EditorBreeze. No one would use them."
After everything was finished, he uploaded it to his Punchtube channel. It was the first video he ever uploaded.
***
Inside the dark room, with only flickering light from a rare physical monitor, a man with an unkempt appearance and pale skin, which made him look like a vampire, was looking at a hologram screen anxiously. He was waiting for something that could appear any time.
"When will he upload it?" He tapped his feet repeatedly as he drank tomato juice. It was his favorite.
Just as he thought of that, there was a notification popping up on a small screen.
Ding!
[Breeze has uploaded a new video!]
"It's here!" The vampire-like man rose from his seat and went to the chair in front of the physical monitor. He used his hand to control the cursor and find the newly uploaded video.
Finding it was easy, as it was the only video on Breeze Punchtube's channel. He immediately played the video. The background was in a simple living room, giving a cozy atmosphere. Breeze was sitting on a sofa, looking straight at the camera.
"Welcome to my Punchtube channel. I am Breeze."
The sound came out from the speaker located on both sides of the monitor. It was louder and clearer compared to the virtual speaker in the smartwatch.
"I won't make it complicated. I will explain the rules of the video contest. The participant needs to use my VODs, which can be found in my Punch channel, and make a 5-minute long video. One participant can only upload up to 2 videos from my Knight's Journey and V-Shelter VODs.
"If I find someone who uploads more than 2 videos with the same tags, I will disqualify them immediately. I want to see the best you can do, not how fast you can edit a 'good' video. The time limit will be 3 days.
"Use #BreezeContest to join the contest and #EditorBreeze if you want to be my editor. Both can still win the award, which will be in the form of money. I will reward the first place with $1,000 and the second with $500. There will be no third place, and the judge will be me.
"I will livestream the judging process in 3 days, and the contest will start once this video is uploaded. Good luck to the participants."
The video ended with a black screen.
The vampire-looking man looked at the screen for a few seconds before leaning back onto his chair. He threw the empty carton box of tomato juice to the corner where many similar things piled up before massaging his forehead.
His eyes were bloodshot, and his lips curled into a nasty smile.
"Heh, a competition like this is child play." He muttered and straightened his sitting position.
Opening the editing software on the physical monitor, he began to work immediately. It was an unusual way of editing, as most people preferred to do it in Virtual Reality using an easier program helped by AI.
But he was still using a manual one. It was harder and took more time. However, this man believed that using this would give him the best result.
"This noble me will win this competition and laugh directly at him! Hahahaha!"
Driven by an impure competitive thought, he spent no time sleeping and focused on making the greatest video ever.
