Chapter 132: Chapter 132 – VR World Inadequacy

Midnight Heist was fun. That was what Max honestly thought after he played three games last night. In the morning, he exercised and ate some healthy meals. Ava had given him a new menu when he met her yesterday. And yes, she didn't expect him to return after not contacting her for a few days.

His day was filled with exercising and checking the progress of his contest. Unexpectedly, there were already 50 entries on the second day, with 6 of them using the hashtag to get the editor position.

"It's more than I thought." He muttered as he drank the energy drink on his new balcony. He liked the new spot because he could see the park from there.

The day was spent resting and setting up his Strike account. He also posted the link to his Punchtube video there. Even without the system's help, setting up the account was pretty easy.

And when everything was done, he changed into cargo pants, a simple shirt, and exercise shoes. Today's goal was simple: checking the apartment's roof and creating some videos for his new Punchtube channel.

To be safe, he messaged uncle Sam and asked for permission to go to the roof. Some apartments usually forbid the tenant to go on the roof because it was dangerous.

But getting Uncle Sam's permission was unexpectedly easy. He was allowed to go to the roof to shoot footage without any problem. The security guard held the key to the roof at the entrance, and Uncle Sam said he could get it just by mentioning his name.

Without waiting for long, Max did exactly that. He got the keycard and went to the roof through a special elevator.

The roof, just like the other buildings in the area, was spacious. He exited the elevator and looked around curiously.

Some exhaust boxes and large pipes stood around the surroundings, connecting to each other. The area was perfect for a parkour POV.

He walked around to observe further while planning what he could do. The edge was surrounded by a low fence made of two metal pipes with a gap in between, leaving enough space for a human to stand on.

'I might be able to squeeze through the gap.'

Unfortunately, the buildings around the apartment were taller. He also wasn't sure whether he could jump to the stairs' gap on the side. While it was possible, he didn't want to get into trouble.

Moving on, he noticed something incredible when circling the roof. A tall pole, with 20 cm diameter, stood tall near the corner of the building. It looked strong and sturdy.

Max's face brightened considerably as he looked at the pole. He approached the corner near the pole and leaned against the fence, looking at how high it was.

'It's 8 floors high, so around 30 to 40 meters from the ground?' He roughly calculated it. And after seeing how it looked, he nodded in satisfaction. 'It looks doable. I can do it, but let's save that for later. I need to make a story behind my POV.'

A good video needed a story. For example, the commonly used story in parkour POV video in his past life was either late to school or late to work. Sometimes, people also made a parkour race against a train. That was impossible in this world, as Sky Rail was as fast as lightning.

Because most people didn't know what parkour was in this world, and almost no parkour POV video could be found on Punchtube, there were many options Max could choose from.

"I have decided." He said to himself as he walked back to the elevator. "I will make an escape video."

Coincidentally, it also matched with the game he was currently playing, Midnight Heist. It was perfect.

For that, he needed to ask the security to play along with him.

"So that's what I plan to make. May I ask for your assistance?"

Returning to the security near the apartment's entrance, Max asked the security for a cameo help. He explained what he needed help with, and they looked at each other after hearing his plan, unsure of what to do.

One of them, the oldest one whose hair started to turn gray, looked at him.

"I'd love to help our tenant, but I am sorry. It's impossible." He said, "It's not that we don't want to help, but the activity you described is dangerous. We won't allow our tenant to do a dangerous stunt such as jumping around the roof."

The other securities nodded at his words.

As expected, that was the problem. Max had guessed it from the start.

'I understand where their worry comes from.'

Parkour was dangerous; he didn't deny that. And the way he described it to the security earlier sounded as if he wanted to challenge horror on the roof with minimum security.

Watching people jumping around from the second floor was already dangerous, not to mention a roof on the 8th floor of a building. One mistake and he could fall to the ground without any protection.

'I didn't tell them about my plan for the last stunt, but even this is not allowed, huh?'

"Treasure your life, young man. There are many things you can enjoy. Look, you can do your stunt in VR. There is definitely a Lobby with a similar environment such as this one." The security said with a soft tone.

He wasn't angry at Max; he was only concerned.

"I understand." Max couldn't help but nod, "Here is the keycard I borrowed before. Thank you, sir."

Taking the keycard from him, the security smiled, "You're welcome. Remember, don't do anything dangerous."

"I'll keep it in mind."

Max decided to return to his room while filled with disappointment.

'VR world is different from the real world.' He thought.

Entering his room, he looked at his VR capsule and caressed it.

'Bad ideas are fun. I said I would try to take care of my health, but I still want to do parkour. I want to feel the adrenaline rush that I can't feel in the VR world.'

While the VR world could be called perfect, it was still different from the real world, even for him, who had 98.5% SR. It just lacked that sense of danger and adrenaline rush. The lack of fear in the VR world was not as fun as IRL.

'Well, it can't be helped. I will have to find a way to obtain permission.'

Maybe Mr. Taka could help? He thought that but decided not to bother him yet.

'Let's just find a Lobby with a similar environment, just like the security told me. I should be satisfied with that. Or I could change my private Lobby to the perfect parkour ground for now.'

Swiish!

'Yeah, that's a good idea.'

The VR capsule opened at his command, and he climbed inside. And thus, he entered the VR world.
