Chapter 93: Chapter 93 – Good Work
"And that concludes the program! Thank you for staying until now! We managed to break a total of 3 world records! Congratulations to the Flexy and Breeze pair for winning the speedrun!"
Everyone in the studio clapped after Evelyn stopped talking. The streamers congratulated the pair, excluding MadLad, who stormed out of the area immediately after the livestream ended.
Afterward, Doctor Ardi and some nurses gave all six of them a check-up before they were allowed to return to their designated room in the Biozone Hotel. When everything was over, it was 3 PM already.
Due to their special SR and their inexperience, Max and Lily were specially instructed to rest for the day, and their meals would be delivered. The former didn't really need it due to the medicine he drank, but the Doctor still forced him to rest because he went for 2 runs instead of 1.
"Haa..."
Sighing tiredly, Max sprawled over his bed and looked at the ceiling. He extended his hand above and looked at the floating window before him.
<Quest failed! Final time: 00:45:01>
<Penalty will be applied. Synchronization Rate will be limited to 95%. No quest will be given for a month.>
<See you in a month.>
"It's the worst..." He muttered as he covered his face with his arm.
It was the final time of his first run. Flexy dropping himself made all his calculations missed. He thought he would have enough time, but no... It took a second more to finish the run.
'I also can't blame Flexy because we managed to break a world record. He looked so happy and apologized already. Also... everybody makes mistakes. It's a normal thing.'
Everything was pretty good until he failed the quest.
They went for a second run afterward, much to Flexy's worry about Max's health, but the RNG wasn't in their favor. It was worse than the first run. They finished in 47 minutes and 45 seconds, even with the new strategy.
"Well, there goes my living quarters..." Max sighed once again and closed his eyes.
It was a shame that he failed the quest but had done his best already. So, he had no regrets... Well, at least not as much.
Opening his eyes again, he got off the bed and began to move his body. Usually, it would feel weak and stiff due to exhaustion.
'The medicine's effect is good. I am not tired at all, even after gaming like that for two hours straight. It will be good if I get the same medicine again in the future.' He thought as he exhaled deeply.
'Well, it won't be possible for at least a month. I just need to stream as usual in the meantime.'

That night, a dinner party was held to celebrate the program's success. Mr. Taka invited all streamers and the host for the day, Evelyn, to a fine dining on the roof of the Biozone Hotel.
The restaurant was usually only available for celebrities and rich people. It had a long waiting list as it was so popular.
Max was lucky he was invited and had a chance to experience the restaurant.
After the dinner, which was composed of luxurious full-course food, the drinking party was held. Various liquors, including fine wine, were brought out.
He also found out something new about him that night: he couldn't seem to hold liquor. He tried one sip and immediately knew. If he took another one, he would either get drunk or straight up fainted. So he just took a juice, which was also Lily's choice.
Raising his glass and standing up, Mr. Taka smiled widely and announced.
"Thank you for your hard work. I can proudly say that our program has achieved tremendous success!"
Clap clap clap!
Everyone was clapping at him.
"I must say this is above our expectations. First of all, let me say thank you once again. Our initial goal was to promote Knight's Journey as well as break the million concurrent views on the Punch streaming platform. However..."
With a swipe of his hand, a screen appeared, showing two graphs. One was a game sale, and the other was views.
Max looked at them and was amazed. Was it okay to disclose the data? Wasn't it confidential?
"Please keep this data a secret. It's within the clause." Mr. Taka smiled menacingly as he surveyed the table, "I will know who leaked the data because, presently, only selected views have seen this."
'Ah, so that's the case.' Max chuckled dryly. The threat worked wonderfully as everyone nodded their heads.
"Anyway, please look at the graphs. Both of them increased steadily over the course of the livestream. The peak would be when StoneSword and LilyPixel broke their world record, followed by Flexy and Breeze's new strategy.
"Our sales increased by 350% in just a day, and the views..." He paused midway, and the screen zoomed in at the peak views.
It showed 1.2 million views.
"... We managed to reach our targets. No, we even break past them. It's all thanks to Puppeteer's watch party, which has more than 300K viewers. And the one who made that possible is Breeze." He looked at Max, and his smile widened, "You surprised me many times."
"Hahaha, I just did my best." Max replied humbly and scratched his cheek, "And it's also thanks to everyone's work."
"Hahaha, indeed! It's thanks to everyone's effort." Mr. Taka laughed merrily. His cheek was dyed red, and he seemed drunk and in a good mood, "Alright. Let's cheer! To celebrate our success!"
"Cheers!"
Cling!
The drinking party continued. MadLad got drunk and rambling about how great he actually was. For some reason, he decided to make Max his rival.
"Just wait! I will definitely beat you!"
That declaration, however, sounded funny to him. It reminded him of BloodSucker, the one viewer who never learned from his past mistakes.
Flexy also let himself lose and actually danced to entertain them. He was truly a mood setter, having an energetic energy and good humor to make everyone laugh.
Nearing the end of the party, Mr. Taka suddenly whispered to Max.
"Breeze, please follow me for a second. I'd like to discuss something regarding your extra reward."
Hearing the word reward, Max immediately nodded. He excused himself and followed Mr. Taka to a private room located to the side of the party venue.
