I Became A System

The D-day.

Walter was shocked, looking at Ryto with disbelief in his eyes. Perhaps he thought that Ryto was supposed to be powerless, but right now, Ryto was standing firm.

"I get it. You did these right? You planned to report everything to the Humban Family then use the disappearance of the thugs as a means to move their way without hurting the citizens?"

Despite what Walter was saying, Ryto was just looking at him with disdain. The loathing he felt wasn't enough to be paid by what happened here.

I just smiled and looked at Ellena, who was standing next to a shadow near a building. We were just observing intently while Ryto had the chance to reclaim his title.

He was the rightful heir after all. Yuto and Walter were just greedy.. Too greedy, perhaps, they might be potential incarnations of the Sin of Greed.

"I don't need to explain what happened. You were just hit with karma." Ryto said with his voice full of contempt, then, afterward, he faced a soldier.

"Please take him as well. I can verify that he was also one of the people who killed my family. I, as a witness and the heir of the Fillian Family."

The soldier saluted, then pulled the helpless Walter. He was smart enough to know that even though he resisted, he wouldn't win. Thus, he surrendered and let the soldiers drag him as well as put a choker around his neck.

Ryto sighed as the tide calmed down and the soldiers of the City of Humban returned to their territory.

I sighed as I felt relieved that things had become smooth. I didn't expect that with Ellena being busy with the Dark Dreadful Spider search, I could achieve much in fixing things with my own efforts.

Of course, Ellena helped me, but with this practice, I can investigate and manage things on my own.

In particular, I didn't just do it because I hated oppression. Maybe at first, but as things progressed, I felt that with Ellena being involved here, her reputation would spread more.

Ryto approached Ellena with his head bowed before her.

"I thank you for assisting me in reclaiming and returning the city to its previous state. Without you, even with planning, I won't achieve this."

Ryto's voice was full of admiration and gratitude. I could feel it as I saw his aura being thankful towards Ellena.

"Then, please do me the honor of spreading that Dark Lightning Princess helped you in the shadows," Ellena said to Ryto in a slightly enigmatic tone.

I snickered, then returned my gaze to Ryto, who was still bowing.

"Yes, I will."

Ryto Fillian restored the city to its previous state five days later. With his talents, even with the limited time, people started acknowledging him as the landlord of the city.

They weren't contemptuous of the local government; it was just Walter and Yuto who they hated for exploiting the taxes and raising them.

Also, the remaining thugs that joined in with the tax collecting submitted themselves to Ryto. They felt gratitude, and even with a plan of escaping, they realized that they would just become the same as the most hated person in the city.

And thus, they didn't dare to escape and decided to change themselves by becoming servants and guards of the city.

The city wasn't that huge in particular. They were just acknowledged by the cities around them, but of course, since the founders of the families had great connections, they respected Ryto.

The reason they couldn't touch the city months ago was that they wanted to contain public opinion. How could a city become a city without citizens? And thus, they waited for the right time to assist the city since the current head at that time disconnected the trust between the other families nearby.

Of course, this won't be achieved by Ryto if not for the help of Ellena and Aaron. Even though only Ellena's alias was lit from the shadow, it was still fortunate since it connected with Aaron's personal interests.

However, he was still feeling a little agitated at the moment. He knew that Yuto and Walter didn't have the ability to overthrow the family and claim it for themselves with just their own abilities.

Inside him, he knew that there were people who assisted them behind the shadows that made Yuto and Walter powerful.

But since he couldn't dig more, he just let it go and thought of it as a side goal in the future. He shouldn't worry about others' worries, and thus, without being apathetic, he helped the city.

Currently, Ellena and Aaron were on the way to the north direction of the city. Of course, they weren't just going there for some unknown reason; they wanted to go there to find clues.

Clues pertaining to the disappearance of some villagers in Gero's village.

The trip was urged by information learned by Ellena. The legend of the Dark Dreadful Spider that used to live near Fillian City before the expansion of the Dukedom.

There were actually five clues regarding it. It was all the supposed base of the monster.

Of course, it wasn't verified information, but Ellena wanted to verify it for herself. Even though it was slightly useless and wasting time, she couldn't feel apathetic since, inside herself, there was still a little worry and justly personality she had.

Aaron knew it. And thus, he just didn't mind it. They still have 4 months at a minimum. It also means they can still find the Morning Flower. Even at that time, if they found it, they wouldn't find any difficulties in harvesting it since Aaron already researched things about it and the environment it was in.

Somewhere in the territory of Phobious.

Inside a dark cave, a sinister smile kept on illuminating the cave. It was as if the teeth that belonged to a certain entity were making it glow for a reason.

After seconds, the sinister smile disappeared with a light following, lighting up every corner of the cave.

A person was revealed, complete with a human figure as well as a human face. He had a slightly matured face, but his body was significantly thin.

"I felt like my parasites had been captured. I feel bad for them, but I am growing weaker as of the moment. Kekeke. That darn Wrath dares to bring his Fingers. If only I could bring mine, I've already got the territory of Phobious in my arms."

The person was just talking to himself, but sooner, while he was talking, his body started glowing with runes appearing around it.

He was surprised by it. Then just as he realized something, he smiled again.

"Wow... It felt good. Now I think that Phobious made a wrong move. Kekeke... I still have a chance."
