Chapter 78: Chaos
Chapter 78: Chaos
After Yuga fell to the ground upon exiting the cave, he suddenly realized he was unharmed, except for a slightly uncomfortable sensation beneath him.
Bowing his head, he saw that he was actually sitting on a Gligar he had been searching for a long time. Yuga was about to feel pleased, but his expression changed as he looked up.
Before him lay a vast expanse of Gligars, all of them glaring menacingly at him and Audino trio around him.
Awkwardly, Yuga got off the Gligar he had been sitting on and said with a smile, "It's all a misunderstanding, really!"
Without a word, the Gligars launched numerous Poison Stings towards Yuga.
Quickly, Yuga summoned Vivillon.
"Vivillon, use Safeguard."
A green barrier instantly appeared in front of Yuga, blocking all the Poison Stings.
Failing in their first attempt, the Gligars immediately prepared for a second round of attacks.
Yuga hurriedly released all his Pokémon and shouted at Audino trio, "What are you waiting for? Come and help me!"
Audino trio, Linoone, and Swellow wasted no time. Upon hearing Yuga's voice, they launched a counterattack against the Gligars.
The Linoone was particularly fierce, employing expertly executed Sucker Punches while simultaneously regaining its strength. It was like a one-punch, one-knockout routine for each young Gligar.
As the Gligars were of low level, the fight proved effortless for the Linoone.
The Swellow displayed a similar prowess.
With incredible speed, it infiltrated the swarm of Gligars, its front paws radiating a white light. With skilled maneuvers, it used its skill to knock the Gligars left and right.
The Pokémon under Yuga's command also performed admirably.
Floette entwined one Gligar with its vine whip, then spun around with Yuga at the center, knocking down the surrounding Gligars.
Though the vine whip's power was modest, it merely knocked the Gligars down without incapacitating them. At this point, Floette followed up with a gust of Fairy Wind, carrying the Gligars away.
Chimecho and Vivillon, being relatively weaker, formed a team.
Chimecho trapped a group of Gligars with Gravity skill, and then Vivillon followed up with a Gust skill laced with Stun Spore to attack them.
Their coordination proved more efficient than other Pokémon.
As for Absol, it was tasked with protecting Yuga safety.
Absol's Pressure ability made weaker Gligars hesitate to approach it. Even the few daring ones were effortlessly dealt with by Absol.
As most of the Gligars were defeated, their leader finally emerged, surrounded by its subordinates.
This Gligar tribe lacked a Gliscor, and the leader was merely a relatively high-level Gligar.
Enraged by Yuga and his companions intruding and harming its kin, the Gligar leader brandished its pincers and attacked Yuga and Absol.
Absol leaped forward, engaging in a head-on collision with the Gligar leader using its Sucker Punch.
Yuga examined the Gligar leader with his discerning eyes.

Level: 40
Skills: Poison Sting, Quick Attack, Furry Cutter, Feint Attack, Acrobatics, X-Scissor.
...
Among this group of generally low-level Gligars, this Gligar leader's level was considered high. However, its skill set wasn't as diverse as Yuga's Vivillon.
Currently, Absol was at level 35. Although its level was lower than that of the Gligar leader, it hadn't shown any sign of being outmatched in their recent clash.
This Gligar was probably accustomed to dominating within its own tribe, so when it saw that its attack hadn't achieved the desired effect, it grew extremely angry. It once again employed the X-Scissor skill and aimed it at Absol.
"Absol, use Sucker Punch again!"
Upon hearing Yuga's command, Absol's claws gleamed with a dark hue, and it once again clashed with the Gligar's pincers.
This time, the Gligar was directly smacked to the ground by Absol's claw, raising a cloud of dust.
"Absol, capitalize on this victory, use Quick Attack, and then Sucker Punch once more!"
Seizing the opportunity while the Gligar leader was down, Absol employed Quick Attack to send it into the air, then lifted its claws to use the Sucker Punch skill once more, striking the Gligar.
The Gligar leader was left incapacitated.
Seeing the Gligar leader defeated, Yuga quickly retrieved a Pokéball and easily captured it.
Among this group of Gligars, several others were also above level thirty. The reason they hadn't joined the initial fray was because they had been held in check by Audino trio.
Now, with their leader down, they were swiftly taken care of by Audino trio.
The remaining Gligars were small fries, around levels ten to twenty. Yuga's Pokémon had no trouble dealing with them.
However, as the saying goes, even ants can defeat an elephant through sheer numbers. After Yuga's group took down all the Gligars, his Pokémon were left panting for breath.
Yuga had Absol and the others rest to the side while he used his discerning eyes skill to examine the numerous Gligars on the ground.
There were at least a few hundred of these Gligars, and Yuga wondered how they had gathered here.
With Yuga's discerning eyes, the traits of these Gligars became clear.
Yuga was quite surprised by the qualities of this group of Gligars. Together with the Gligar leader he captured earlier, Yuga found a total of 88 Gligars with a green aptitude, and not a single one had a blue aptitude.
This probability was indeed astonishing.
Green-aptitude Pokémon had a basic occurrence rate of around one in a thousand in the Pokémon population. This meant that there was a one in a thousand chance of encountering a green-aptitude Pokémon for every one thousand Pokémon.
Yet, in this group of Gligars, with a total population of less than a thousand, almost one-tenth of them possessed a green aptitude.
Yuga captured the remaining 87 Gligars with his Pokéballs, his mind filled with questions. Could this place be a special breeding ground for them?
Storing the Pokéballs in his system backpack, Yuga suddenly thought that with so many Gligars around, there must be some Pokémon eggs too.
He promptly enlisted his Pokémon to help locate the eggs laid by these Gligars.
Yuga and his Pokémon quickly located the eggs.
It turned out that the Gligars had dug another cave and hidden all their eggs inside. If it weren't for the Linoone, Yuga would never have found it. The entrance to the cave was quite small and hard to spot.
In the end, it was Yuga and his Pokémon working together that made the entrance large enough for Yuga to enter smoothly.
