Chapter 84: Chapter 15: Return
Two days after his alliance with Rena was confirmed, they began to share map information, and she also gave him the details of stronger lords who were close to him.
'Hmmm, she seems to have wanted it to be every week, but I can't do that... Haha.' Lancelot laughed, reading the letter sent to him from Rena.
"She seems to have purposely bought a special demon owl to send messages... that girl is so strange."
He leaned back, "Don't demons have phones?" before smiling and getting up from his desk in the huge palace.
"This black citadel is so grand it takes me 10 minutes to reach the door if I don't sprint.... at least I won't get fat."
Lancelot tied his response to the owl's little jacket.
The huge bird was three times the size of a normal owl, with black and silver feathers and a huge horn. In his reply, he arranged to meet once a month to discuss their alliance and 'other' things.
Otherwise, it would take up too much time.
[My King, are you already better?] Morgana said, her voice seems to be holding back her laughter.
{Master, do you need some tonics to heal your kidneys?} Marimo joined in using the eastern saying that a man needed to improve his kidneys if he couldn't perform in bed.
'These girls are having a lot of fun!'
Lancelot's face turned red, and he coughed twice. "Haha, stop it, you two! I'm perfectly fine!"
As he said so, the demon bird took off from his shoulder and flew off with the letter, leaving him alone.
'It is convenient to have such a big guy around to send letters.' Lancelot thought as he saw it fly off into the distance.
He stepped into the town, which was thriving, as Morgana accepted his suggestion that people could earn money from working hard.
They use a bartering system to exchange furs and meats with the cooking house, tailor and leatherworker to make them nice clothes or food after working hard.
'Marimo, is it hard work for you and Meru to keep an eye on the Hares contributions and wages?'
[Not at all, Master—Meru seems to enjoy the work of writing everything down, although she asked for an easier way to store the information.]
[As for the wages, we have kept it to something small, 1 Avalon coin a week with 1 pelt and 1kg of meat from every 10 they collect.]
'Hmm, that should be quite a lot to them, right?'
Lancelot walked through the new houses upgraded and built by the Frost Hare workers, as well as the training fields where they were taught by Morgana, Vallen and Lusia, who were now also in charge of teaching them combat skills.
'They are working hard...'
He saw groups of 10 Hares patrolling the walls, likely 100 of them in total.
30 on the north wall, 40 on the west and 30 to the east overlooking the forest.
"Oh? Did they build watchtowers in the forest?"
Morgana stood behind him with a quiet face, smiling as she watched Lancelot manage the territory and look at their development. "Yes, My king. The idea came from Ikumi, who believed that sneaky thieves were stealing carrots and stones. Then when we crafted them, we found a stray imp nest formed due to the mana in the forest."
Nuriel was on the opposite side, unspeaking after seeing her Master's embarrassing state. She seemed to become more distant and rarely spoke. 'I need to fix our relationship soon, but it's too bad I need to focus on growing stronger and dealing with the damn Pendragons.'
Lancelot stepped towards a small opening south of his town, opposite the Succubus summoning statue that seemed to have upgraded; the Heroes upgraded it because they wanted more sisters to play with.
"This is the place..." He whispered, taking out a small statue of a beautiful angel with six wings. It was Nuriel, and the one for succubi was Morgana, but he only realised it after it was upgraded.
He found it lonely that they no longer spawned from his throne but guessed his pedigree needed to be separated from his subjects and warriors.
'Interesting, I've not heard of commanders being the image of worship before; normally, it's their god or queen.'
"I wonder if I should put statues of myself everywhere, aha..." Lancelot chuckled, but no one laughed along with him.
'This is awkward...'
Lancelot stepped forward, using his blood to power the summoning, and soon a group of angels arrived—a total of 10 with 2 beautifully clean white wings.
"Hello, Sir Lancelot!" The first was a girl with short white hair and green eyes; she wore armour like all of them, with a large spear in hand.
"Hi, what's your name?"
The girl smiled, "My name is Risa! I'm the leader of this unit." She bowed her head respectfully.
Lancelot said, "Hello, I'm the Lord of this land, and it seems you will be my guard unit." He paused as he noticed something wrong with them.
They looked at Morgana with a nasty look and revered Nuriel... 'Ah, a Demon Queen and Seraphim... I guess
The other 9 members were girls with the same white hair as Risa and the same beautiful white wings.
"Hmph! So, you are a Demon, and she's the one who took our Master's purity!" A young girl spoke up angrily and was quickly stopped by Risa.
"Lexia, please stop that now! I apologise, my lord; we will work hard." Risa spoke seriously, causing the others to stop speaking and salute Lancelot.
Lancelot had a small smile, "I know it is difficult to accept, but I hope you can get along with Morgana."
As he said that, the other two Commanders stood forward, and Marimo, Lusia and Vallen stepped beside him.
"My territory is where demons, angels, humans and beastkin can ALL live without the threat of someone judging them or making them feel unwanted; if you can't accept this, then I shall have you executed."
His eyes narrowed, forcing his aura to almost crush the girl named Lexia as she knelt on the ground shuddering, "Forgive me, forgive me.... forgive me...." she begged.
"Mmmm, everyone deserves a second chance here, so try not to let your former thoughts and views blind you to my true paradise."
His words caused all the angels, even Nuriel, to feel shocked before he continued. "I don't expect you to believe me now, but one day. I will make you worship me more than any other god."
The girls stood up, and Risa stepped forward and knelt respectfully.
"We are yours to command, Master Lancelot." She said, causing the others to follow suit and kneel, even Nuriel.
"I serve Master Lancelot as his guardian," Nuriel spoke for the first time in a while. Her voice was cold, but it didn't matter, as she was a seraph and had earned the respect of all the angels, but it seemed she did not care.
Lancelot nodded and looked at the girls.
"Please stand." He paused, looking at each of them, "I'm sure some of you want revenge or to prove you are right, but that's fine, but remember, it was your god that abandoned you. Otherwise, why are you thrown to my side like unwanted goods?"
"I am your God now." He spoke and left Morgana to sort out their living situation.
She smiled as he left.
[He's becoming more confident and manly... But why won't he sleep with me!!!]

Lancelot suddenly opened his eyes after leaving a huge list for Meru and Marimo to care for.
He needed more metal and other ores to upgrade the blacksmith to Rank 3. 'I asked them to scout, but let's hope they don't push it too far... despite upgrading the Frosh Hare's summoning tool, only 20 would spawn a day.
"I have 322 Frost hares and 50 Succubi..."
'Too small...' He thought as his body was sitting on the cool stone of the arena, the moonlight shining on his body, as he leaned back, taking a breath to sigh.
"L-Lancelot?" A mature and beautiful voice sounded in the darkness as Evaine, standing in her black skirt and suit, held a folder in her arms as she seemed to be leaving. "Why are you on the floor?"
His heterochromatic eyes looked at her, one golden with a star pupil, the other silver with a slit pupil looking at her; he just smiled and said, "I can beat you already."
Lancelot's words echoed through the empty yard, causing Evaine to stand with a shocked face.
"What do you mean by that? You don't think I am strong?!" Her voice raised, and the folder she carried flew off into the distance as she moved towards him, "you are always like this! So cheeky, not respecting me as an instructor! You fight Arthur and almost die before vanishing! Do you know... I had to be."
Lancelot shook his head and laughed.
"Don't Laugh at me!" Evaine roared, her aura bursting as the ground cracked under the pressure.
"It's funny! How you can't tell, you're so weak. You are the same as Arthur. Thinking you are the strongest, you don't even know how to use magic properly!"
Lancelot's words hit Evaine like a hammer, and her eyes glowed with anger, but unlike him, she knew there was more to the world of Avalon and magic itself that even an old wizard like Merlin was still learning.
"I-I do! I am a master at the wind and fire magic! I can beat you easily!" She shouted angrily and lifted her right arm to cast a spell, but Lancelot stood up and grabbed her wrist.
"Hmmm, what a weird feeling..." He whispered, his eyes glowing while watching her magic, "This... this is something called magic?"
With the flick of his finger, he instantly cast the same ball of wind before it transformed into a ball of flames, causing Evaine to look shocked, trying to pull her hand from his tight grip.
"W-What happened.... how!?"
"Haha, I guess you can't tell. But your magic and ability to cast spells waste so much magic because you use improper ways. If you want to learn more, how about you treat me to a meal sometime soon?"
Her mind was in chaos as Lancelot suddenly let go of her and began walking away.
"You should ask yourself why you didn't need to learn more, why you think you are the strongest... it's funny. That's how it is..."
As he left, she stood looking at his back, trembling and thinking. 'I can't be weaker than that cheeky boy...'
"Why is he so strong?"
Her body shook before gripping her fist.
"I'll show you! Let me learn your secrets! A date, sure! Easy...."
