Following all of these system notifications, Azmodeus decided to move toward the sound of metal clashing in the distance. He could feel the presence of multiple extremely powerful beings.
A few seconds passed, and he found himself standing atop a hill overlooking the Yang Manor below.
From this overhang, he saw the Sect Leader battling multiple figures in black cloaks, and all of them were beyond the 3rd Stage Qi Condensation Realm in strength.
In fact, they were so far above that stage that Azmodeus wasn't even sure they were human…
Just how strong are these ones…?
Even he could barely stay standing after feeling their insurmountable pressure, so how exactly was his master holding up against them?
Was Master hiding his power all along? But why?
BOOOOM!
However, his thoughts were quickly interrupted by the Sect Leader being kicked through the skies by a large, robust man.
"Why don't you just give up and die, you old coot?? Don't you know when you should just call it quits??"
A mocking voice resounded through the Yang Leader's manor as a wide, broad-shouldered man—with long brown hair braided like a Viking—made his way toward the Sect Leader by…-
-Flying!
Are they able to fly?? Just what realm do you need to be in to do that??
Azmodeus lay in wake behind a few shrubbery atop his overlook, observing this battle in which he would likely immediately die if he interfered.
Nonetheless, his astonishment over the fact that these attackers could fly was quickly overwhelmed by the fact that the Sect Leader could fly as well!
What the blazing hell!? You're telling me that bastard master of mine is capable of flying??
He didn't even know how to show how shocked he was at all these revelations being presented to him.
The only thing Azmodeus felt upon watching this battle go down was pure bewilderment…
-
"If you think you'll kill me so easily, then you better think again. These bones of mine may be extremely old, but that doesn't mean I can't still knock some sense into some younglings!"
The Sect Leader's aged voice reverberated through the Yang Manor and even the entire Yang Sect as his aura spiked upwards!
"Ho? We may have been no match for the mighty Renegade Raider back in the day, as who doesn't know about the exploits of the one who took the entire Milky Desert by storm? But that day is no longer here, old man. And just like your old partner down at the library, you will be dying soon as well."
This time, it wasn't the robust man who spoke, as it was instead a sly-looking man with a long goatee and his hands behind his back.
This man exhibited an inexplicable aura that, although overwhelming, was also mysterious beyond comparison.
Was he speaking of Elder Chong?? They wish to kill Elder Chong as well?? But why???
Azmodeus became more and more confused with each thing that was discussed between the Sect Leader and the assailants.
However, the mystery would only get deeper from there, as the man with the goatee continued speaking:
"Even after thousands of years, you still haven't changed, Renegade Raider. But in the end, you were struck down by a high-level Spiritual Beast Emperor and lost most of your strength. So what can you do against us, who have already broken through into the Tribulation Transcendance Realm!?"
"...You speak of me not changing, but neither of you have either… Sneaking out of your regiment and playing as one of these low-rank Twilight Assassins just to come and kill me so you can take what's mine! Do you have no shame!?"
The Sect Leader practically erupted in fury as an aura that could envelop a country was unleashed from his figure!
His eyes dimmed and his hair thinned, but it mattered not for him, as he planned to take the two of them down with him!
"You will never obtain what I acquired that day. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever!!!" He bellowed, his blueish aura transforming into something far more terrifying.
WAAAAA!
Powerful figures all over the continent were alerted by this sudden release of power, as everyone dropped what they were doing and rushed in the direction of this all-too-familiar aura.
Just as they assumed it would end with just one familiar aura, yet another one popped up from the Yang Sect's Library!
Azmodeus felt the soul-crushing pressures of two auras press down on him, as he was sure that his ribs had already started to crack.
Even so, he watched three god-like figures battle it out in the skies, summoning lightning and fire storms from thin air as entire sections of the sky were razed to the ground!
Furthermore, this wasn't the only immensely powerful fight happening, as another figure was fighting what appeared to be Elder Chong in the distance.
This level of strength is unbelievable… And in their individual clashes, 80% of the Yang Sect has already been destroyed…
Even the Yang Forest itself is burning at a rapid rate, and before long, there will be no more Yang Sect or Yang Forest…
Azmodeus could hardly believe it himself, but the fact that it was happening was undeniable.
The Sect I grew up in… The sect that I loathed for so many years of my life…
He watched the vibrant red-tiled buildings and pagodas light on fire and crumble as anguished screams echoed throughout the Yang Sect and Spirit River City.
Everything is falling apart, and loot bags are dying in the thousands, yet I can't even get up off the ground… n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
He felt helpless… Even in his past life, he never felt so helpless…
Azmodeus didn't much care for other strangers or even the sect itself, but what about that adorable bundle of joy who was always bothering him… The benefits she gave him...
She would die… Or even worse…
And there was absolutely nothing he could do about it.
...…
