Chapter 215 - A Ruler
The reporters kept following King Lucas, Gavin, and Brione who were being escorted by the royal guards. They bombarded them with so many questions.
"Your highness, where is Prince Cedric?"
"Why is Prince Cedric not here?"
"Your Highness, What is his stand on this? You abdicated the throne to your firstborn son. Prince Cedric was supposed to be the next in line for the throne."
"Is he against the idea of giving the throne to his brother that's why he didn't show up today?"
King Lucas stopped on his track after hearing that last particular question from the reporter. He didn't want them to misunderstand, thinking that there was conflict between the two brothers because of the throne.
Little did they know, Prince Cedric didn't wish to be a King since he believed that with great power comes great responsibility.
He would be happier knowing that his twin brother, Gavin took that role and responsibility away from him. He would not feel a burden anymore once he returned to them safely.
The reporters also stopped as they waited for King Lucas to speak up and answer their questions.
"Prince Cedric is still missing right now. This is the only detail I can give you. But rest assured that the Royal Family is doing our best to find my son, Prince Cedric."
There was a downcast look in King Lucas's eyes when he said those words. Until now, they couldn't find Cedric. He was sad about that.
Meanwhile, the reporters fell silent the moment they heard the news. Prince Cedric was missing and the Royal Family refused to disclose further details about this.
King Lucas was firm. He would not answer any more questions regarding Prince Cedric. It seemed that this was not a simple matter anymore. They assumed that there might be another big conspiracy behind the disappearance of Prince Cedric.
The Royal Family wanted to make it more confidential for the safety of Prince Cedric. No one knew what happened to him so they needed to be more careful and cautious.
The enemies had eyes and ears everywhere. Oliver's life had been sacrificed already. They didn't want to lose Prince Cedric as well because of some mistakes and carelessness.
To change the mood, one reporter asked Brione when he recognized her.
"Miss, you are Brione Yu, right? The famous super star? Why are you here?"
The King was the one who answered them. "Yes, she is Brione Yu and she is my son's wife."
Everyone: "..."
King Lucas, Gavin, and Brione continued walking away as the royal guards restrained the reporters from following them. Since they could no longer interview the Royal Family, the reporters focused their attention on the Prime Minister and his family who were following the Royal Family behind.
It did not take long when Olivia and Prime Minister Greg were surrounded by the reporters. Unlike the Royal Family, they were just escorted by a few bodyguards so the reporters were able to block their way.
The reporters started to throw several questions to the Prime Minister.
"Prime Minister Greg, what can you say about this revelation?"
"Did you know about the twins as well? How long have you known this?"
"Are you in favor of the King's decision of abdicating the throne to his long-lost son, Prince Gavin?"
"Do you trust the Royal Family? Are you confident that Prince Gavin will be able to rule the whole country?"
"Please, tell us what are your thoughts about this?"
The Prime Minister just glanced at them with a deep frown on his aged face. He was not feeling well since the start of the conference but he forced himself to show up.
Seeing the silence of her father, Olivia stepped up and answered some of the questions on his behalf.
"My family was also kept in the dark by the Royal Family. My father doesn't know about Prince Cedric's twin brother. Just like you, this was the first time he heard about this," Olivia answered them without batting an eyelid. She knew about Gavin's identity already.
The reporters just nodded their heads as they continued listening to Olivia's words. She left them some strong statements for Prince Gavin.
"As for our stand regarding our future King, Prince Gavin Wilhelm. The Prime Minister, including I, myself, will keep an eye on him to see whether he is worthy to rule the country, or not. This is for the sake of our country and all our citizens."
They could feel the chilly aura emanating from Olivia right now. They couldn't help but feel goosebumps as they gazed at her sharp eyes. She looked very intimidating and fierce.
The reporter could only admire her more because of that. They could see the vibe of a ruler in her. She's beauty and brain, worthy to be a queen.
Everyone in Country B knew that Olivia was supposed to be engaged to Prince Cedric. If Prince Cedric was chosen to be the King, Olivia would have been their new Queen.
Olivia was known for her generosity. Aside from being smart and beautiful, she also had a kind heart. She was supporting several foundations, helping lots of people in need.
They could see the quality of a good queen in her. Too bad, King Lucas chose Prince Gavin to be the next ruler. They became more in doubt with Gavin's capability to rule the country.
They would prefer if someone like Olivia would be standing by his side. But that was not the case.
They were about to ask Olivia another question when suddenly the Prime Minister passed out. Fortunately, the nearby guard was able to catch the Prime Minister before he fell to the ground.
"Father!" Olivia called her father with a concerned look in her eyes.
The reporters panicked seeing the Prime Minister suddenly collapse in front of them. The guards cleared the path right away, pushing the crowd. Others also noticed the commotion that was happening there.
"Make a way! This is an emergency! Don't block our way!"
The guards carried the prime minister.
"Prepare the car. We will bring the Prime Minister to the hospital" Another guard ordered his comrade.
They immediately brought the Prime Minister into the nearest hospital, OIivia and her mother were following them.
