Book 2: Chapter 107: Four Colors of Light
Vol 2 Ch 107: Four Colors of Light
The Wanxiang Gate’s Wanxiang Cards come in several levels. The lowest is the third-level card, whose main function is to receive payments for completed tasks.
Second-level cards offer some privileges, such as the free use of some treasures from the Wanxiang Gate and access to low-level intelligence.
As for the first-level cards, these are reserved for the Stone Hall Masters, allowing them to use items like the Wanxiang Stele without any cost.
Above that is the Supreme Card, given only to those Hall Masters and Elders of the Wanxiang Gate who have made significant contributions. It has always been something Zhang Xuan dreamed of possessing.
Of course, these cards are granted through spending or making contributions. The legendary "Heaven" and "Earth" cards, however, are the rarest and most difficult to obtain. They are never easily distributed, and even the Elders at the headquarters don't always receive them.
Especially the Tianqing Wanxiang Card, which is incredibly rare. Zhang Xuan has never seen one, but he can feel the immense power in the azure traces of the card, which is clearly not something that can be replicated or disguised.
This means that the card is absolutely genuine.
A person he had once underestimated suddenly takes out such a rare card... Could it be that the so-called identity test was just a disguise?
Qian Yuhuan trembled slightly, feeling a wave of dizziness hit him as his vision blurred. How could an ordinary person casually present such a valuable card? How laughable that he had acted so arrogantly. He must have thoroughly offended this person...
Thinking back to his earlier behavior, cold sweat immediately ran down his back.
He had been so arrogant earlier, and now he regretted it immensely... While he was regretting, thinking about how to apologize, he heard the young man across from him speak with a slightly confused tone.
"Is this card acceptable? If not, I can apply for another one!"
It would have been fine if Qian Yuhuan hadn't heard this, but once he did, he nearly collapsed in shock.
A sarcastic remark!
The other person was clearly teasing him with his words!
This was one of the highest-level cards from Wanxiang Gate. If this one didn't work, what else could?
To his surprise, although the young man looked young, he was actually quite ruthless!
His scalp tingled. Qian Yuhuan gritted his teeth and forced himself to respond, "Of course, it's fine..."
He carefully returned the card and clenched his fists, apologizing, "I'm sorry, Young Master Zhang. I didn't recognize your greatness earlier... These source tickets are yours now. If you ever visit, don't hesitate to ask. Even if you want to demolish this room, it wouldn’t be a big deal!"
"Demolish the room?"
Zhang Xuan looked at him suspiciously.
Could this guy know something? Is he deliberately teasing me?
No, if he tells Shi Yunjing about this, no amount of money would be enough to cover it...
Realizing this, Zhang Xuan quickly spoke up, waving his hands repeatedly. "I’m an honest person, I wouldn't do that! You can't say such things casually." R̃
He would never admit to anything and was curious to see how Qian Yuhuan would react.
"Say things casually?"
Seeing the expression and tone of the other person, Qian Yuhuan's heart skipped a beat.
It seemed that the other party still hadn't forgiven him. The two words "say things casually" were pointing out his disrespect and nonsense!
Realizing the implication, Qian Yuhuan showed an expression that seemed like he might cry. He gritted his teeth and bowed deeply, "Young Master Zhang, I'm sorry, it was my mistake. I didn’t recognize your greatness earlier, please forgive me!"
"???"
This time, it was Zhang Xuan’s turn to be confused.
Wasn't this guy trying to mock him? But instead, he seemed to be sincere?
"Old Qian, you..."
Shi Yunjing, who was standing by, blinked in confusion, unsure of what exactly had happened.
After apologizing, the atmosphere froze for a moment. Since the other party didn't say anything, it seemed he still hadn't forgiven him. Qian Yuhuan gritted his teeth and walked toward Sun Qiang, "These source tickets are yours. Also, here's a small gift for our first meeting, please accept it..."
He took out a thick stack of money and handed it over.
Sun Qiang blinked. He glanced at the stack of money, and from the quick look, he could tell it was at least 50 million, if not 100 million.
Just a moment ago, he was insisting on money, and now not only was he returning it, but he was even giving a gift...
It was puzzling. He couldn't help but glance over at Young Master Zhang, seeking his opinion.
At this point, Zhang Xuan finally realized something was off. His eyes fell on the Wanxiang Card in Qian Yuhuan’s hand.
He had guessed correctly—it was because of that card.
He initially thought it was a gift from Yue Longxiao, but now it seemed it was more likely from Ouyang Hai. Otherwise, there was no way Qian Yuhuan would change so drastically.
With that realization, Zhang Xuan breathed a sigh of relief, nodded, and said, "As long as you don't say anything inappropriate, feel free to accept the gift."
Still, he reminded him to not speak recklessly about the destruction of the Tianming Hall.
"Thank you..." Qian Yuhuan breathed a sigh of relief.
So he was teasing me! He doesn't want me to say anything...
"???"
"What just happened? This is Qian Gate Master, why did his attitude change so suddenly?"
"When I came last time, I had to pay for the test, so why the sudden change?"
Shi Yunjing didn’t understand, and the people around him were all looking at each other in confusion, unsure of what was going on.
Everyone had heard of Qian Yuhuan and knew he was stubborn, serious, and unsympathetic...
For such a person to insist on money and then suddenly back off, return the money, apologize, and even give a gift—it was odd.
"Could it be... this guy’s identity is not simple?"
Mo Hong, observing from afar, clenched his fists.
As an outsider, he could more easily see the issue. Qian Yuhuan must have only shown such deference after confirming that Zhang Xuan's identity was extraordinary.
It seemed that Zhang Xuan was not just an ordinary one-star Tianming Master.
"Young Master Zhang, please!"
Ignoring the others' expressions, Qian Yuhuan pointed to the Wanxiang Stele in front of him.
"Mm!" Zhang Xuan nodded and approached the stone tablet. Following the instructions, he placed his palm on it.
Buzz!
After only a brief pause, the stone tablet wobbled slightly, and a red light flashed out, illuminating the surroundings.
The red light signified one-star Tianming—just a beginner Tianming Master.
"Congratulations, Young Master Zhang, it looks like our Tianming Hall has gained another Tianming Master..." Shi Yunjing smiled.
"Just one star? Wait, could this be unrelated to Min Jiangtao’s sword technique?"
Mo Hong was puzzled again.
He had initially thought that Qian Yuhuan's change of attitude was a disguise and that Zhang Xuan’s true power was far greater than it appeared. After all, a one-star Tianming Master couldn’t be this valuable. But now it seemed like he had overestimated things!
He was just a one-star Tianming Master—his cultivation must only be at the peak of the Law Body realm.
To break through to the Starry River realm, one must have understood the second realm of Tianming, which was nearly impossible otherwise.
As Mo Hong was in shock, Qian Yuhuan was also confused. A mere one-star Tianming Master should not possess such a rare Tianqing Wanxiang Card.
Before he could dwell further on this thought, the stone tablet in front of them suddenly changed color, releasing orange, yellow, and green lights in rapid succession.
The lights kept flashing, creating an effect similar to a disco.
"???"
Qian Yuhuan was stunned.
To comprehend Tianming, one would either achieve the first, second, or third realm. The realm should be fixed, but now the stone tablet was flashing in multiple colors. What was happening?n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Not only Qian Yuhuan, but also Shi Yunjing and the others watching were equally confused, their expressions showing they were witnessing something bizarre.
They had seen red, orange, and yellow lights before, but never all four together.
"This is impossible. If he’s just in the first realm, how could so many colors appear? Zhang Xuan is definitely not ordinary!"
Mo Hong’s expression became serious once again.
He had just thought he might have been mistaken, but now he was sure Zhang Xuan wasn’t an ordinary person.
Thank goodness he realized Zhang Xuan’s connection to Min Jiangtao, otherwise, he might have caused unnecessary trouble.
"I must report this to my Master..." Mo Hong thought.
Despite his confusion, Qian Yuhuan suddenly smiled. "Young Master Zhang, is the Tianming Stele broken? How else could it be flashing so many colors?"
"Ah... yes! You're right, it's broken!" Qian Yuhuan immediately replied, recalling his earlier teasing. "This stone tablet has been malfunctioning for a while. We haven’t had the chance to fix it... I’m so sorry!"
"Broken?"
Hearing this, although everyone was still puzzled, they reluctantly accepted the explanation. They couldn’t just say Zhang
Xuan had comprehended multiple levels of Tianming, could they? That was impossible!
"No matter what color, doesn't the fact that I lit up the stele mean I’m officially a Tianming Master?"
Seeing that Qian Yuhuan was covering for him, Zhang Xuan nodded with satisfaction and looked over at Shi Yunjing.
"Of course!" Shi Yunjing responded. "I’ll have someone arrange a token to represent your status as a Tianming Master!"
Their main purpose for coming was to test whether Zhang Xuan had passed the examination and comprehended the Tianming that suited him. No matter the color, as long as the stele lit up, it meant he had succeeded and now held the title of Tianming Master.
Zhang Xuan sighed in relief and looked at the rest of the group. "You all should test it as well!"
Sun Qiang and the others nodded.
"Since this Wanxiang Stele has a problem, let's move over here and use this stone tablet for testing..."
Qian Yuhuan led everyone to another stone pillar.
As long as they ensured this one wasn’t broken, everything would be fine.
