Chapter 27
Chapter 27: Their Age Gap!
Although Zhang Li Xue never took her aunt’s advice seriously, the girl had never mentioned her basketball partner in school.
However, this does not have anything to do with her promise to her aunt, Zhang Yu Ying.
The little girl would quickly forget about her teammate the moment she arrived home.
Each time she saw her mother, Zhang Li Xue would look at her mother’s tummy and talk to her unborn sibling for a long time.
It can be seen that the little girl was looking forward to meeting her younger sibling soon. In her mind, her younger sibling was already her companion who would play with her and practice basketball together.
Because of her father’s injury, her family members have been living in their house. With her big family all around her, Zhang Li Xue was just happy to have everyone accompanying her to play.
It was only when she was on her way to her kindergarten would Zhang Li Xue remember her basketball partner.
.....
Her aunt, Zhang Yu Ying continued to take the task to send the little girl to kindergarten.
Seeing that the little girl had run into the kindergarten after greeting her teacher made her sigh. Zhang Yu Ying was a little curious about the little girl’s basketball practice.
After that one time when had accidentally witnessed her niece and that little boy, Zhang Yu Ying had never seen the boy again.
She was a little disappointed as she was hoping to watch the two children’s interactions. Unfortunately for her, she could not enter the kindergarten and peek at what her little niece was doing.
In the past few days, Zhang Li Xue had continued to practice basketball with Bai Qi in the gymnasium. Seeing that Bai Qi had appeared every day to practice with her made her happy.
Zhang Li Xue really did not want to lose this teammate.
It was hard for her to find someone who wanted to practice with her and the boy had diligently showed up.
Seeing Bai Qi’s improvement made her feel that she shouldn’t slack off as well. Zhang Li Xue wanted to continue and improve together with Bai Qi. Perhaps, when they started going to school, she could team up with Bai Qi and the two would be the best partner.
Just like her father and her uncle, Wei Jun Hao.
Perhaps, once they entered school, she would find more people who shared the same interest in basketball. Just thinking about it made her excited.
After practicing for a while, Zhang Li Xue and Bai Qi sat down on the floor to catch up their breath before they would return to their class.
Zhang Li Xue turned to her partner with a bright smile on her face.
Her smile made Bai Qi stunned. His heartbeat accelerated and his face turned redder.
Bai Qi did not understand what was going on with himself and thought that he has been practicing a little too hard. Otherwise, why else would his heart continue to beat faster?
“Bai Qi, next time, let’s attend the same school. Later, we can still partner up and have our own basketball team,” Zhang Li Xue spoke excitedly. “That’s right, which school are you going to attend?”
Hearing her question made him pause. He looked at Zhang Li Xue and hesitated. Although he was happy that the little fairy wanted to attend the same school as him so that they could continue and practice basketball, Bai Qi realized that there was one big problem.
Zhang Li Xue was busy telling Bai Qi that she planned to attend the school where her father had attended in the past. She did not notice the change in Bai Qi’s expression.
It was only when he noticed that Bai Qi has been quiet that she noticed that something was wrong.
Zhang Li Xue turned to Bai Qi and blinked. “What’s wrong?”
Bai Qi hesitated. He did not want to ruin the little fairy’s hope and dream, but he had no choice.
“You did not want to attend the same school as me?” Zhang Li Xue guessed.
“That’s not it,” Bai Qi spoke quickly. “I want to go to the same school as you.”
Her face tilted to one side. “Then, why do you look troubled?”
Bai Qi pursed his lips into a thin line. “Li Xue, I am a year older than you. I am the same age as Mu Zhen Yu.”
The little girl nodded. “Un. I already know about this.”
“I’m going to attend school starting next year,” Bai Qi said. “But you will have to attend kindergarten for one more year before going to school.”
Her eyes widened as she heard his words. Zhang Li Xue was too excited about the idea of expanding her team that she had forgotten about this one important matter. Their age gap!
Does this mean that next year, she won’t have anyone to accompany her to practice basketball?
The thought stunned her. Zhang Li Xue did not know how to respond.
The bell rang as Zhang Li Xue continued to ponder this matter.
Bai Qi had to remind his little captain that class was about to start before Zhang Li Xue finally snapped out of her trance.
The two of them went their separate ways and Zhang Li Xue could not stop thinking about this one big problem.
She did not notice that there was someone who was watching her from afar.
In fact, Mu Zhen Yu has been watching Zhang Li Xue practicing basketball for days. Each time, both Zhang Li Xue and Bai Qi failed to see him lurking around.
Mu Zhen Yu was unhappy to see that Zhang Li Xue continued to practice basketball with Bai Qi despite his warning.
He had not thought that the little girl had really forgiven and forgotten about what Bai Qi had done to her previously.
Seeing the two of them practicing basketball together made him unhappy.
There were countless times when Mu Zhen Yu wanted to go over and tell Zhang Li Xue that he wanted to play basketball with her as well.
However, his legs would refuse to move.
Mu Zhen Yu would always remember that he had rejected her when Zhang Li Xue suggested playing basketball with him. He had thought that the little girl shouldn’t be playing under the hot sun and told her that he was not interested in basketball.
If he came forward and tell her that he changed his mind, would Xiao Li Xue think that he was up to something?
After all, the girl hasn’t been talking to him since the last time they talked.
Mu Zhen Yu watched as Zhang Li Xue returned to her class with a complicated look on his face.
