CHAPTER 43 – The Visit
"What type of flowers should I order?"
"Umm, a flower of everything they have. Make a bouquet of silver looking flowers instead."
"Silver looking…" Jay was about commenting but decided against it if he still did not want to annoy the almighty Xander. "Okay."
'Weird order, but who cares?'
******
Just like that, Jay got the flowers as ordered by Xander and headed towards one of the houses on the paper.
He was busy thinking about his encounter with Macy thee while time he was driving and just how sexy and lovely she looked even when she was angry and worried.
Just from recalling his little encounter with her the other day, Jay was yearning to see her and the surprise look in her eyes when she would see him.
With so much thought about it, he could not wait to deliver the flowers to Jade and head for her house.
By the time he got to Jade's apartment, he was looking so tensed up and stressed and barely out of breath. He tried his best to steady himself before ringing the bell.
Jade heard the doorbell from her room and went to answer it. She was quite shocked when the doors opened and was greeted with a bouquet of silver flowers.
Her gaze moved from the silver flowers to the one holding the flowers in front of him. She squinted her eyes at him.
'Wait a minute. I know this face from somewhere.' She thought as her mind immediately went to work trying to place where it was that she had seen this person before.
"Hello." His enchanting but ragged voice entered Jade's ears and one thought came to mind.
The guy who had saved her.
'Yes, that is it. He was with him that night. It was dark but that voice and eyes.'
"Hi."
"For you," Jay simply stated, trying not to look too embarrassed by the sorry state the flowers were now in, a complete difference from its former beauty.
Jade looked at the flowers he pushed in front of her and smiled. She loved anything silver because of her hair colour.
It was one of the distinct traits she inherited from her mother and she did not know why they both had that colour of hair but she loved it notwithstanding.
"From?'" Jade asked as she stretched her hand to pick the bouquet from Jay.
"Him."
Before Jade got the chance to ask any more questions, Jay took to his heels and ran away.
"Hey, wait," Jade called after him but Jay did not answer and ran with all he got.
"That was weird," Jade remarked and shrugged her shoulders.
She brought the flowers inside and smiled at them, ignoring the fact that they were from the naughty strangers who kissed her that night.
Jay quickly got to his car as fast as his legs could carry him and drove off.
By the time he got to Xander's house, he was looking like a guy who just ran a marathon. Xander was speechless when she saw him trying to catch his breath.
"What happened? Why are you not with your crush?" Xander's words were like a breather to Jay and he instantly found his lost voice.
"Do not send me on that kind of errand again." Jay partially exploded, causing Xander to raise his brows at him.
He was acting like a mad man and that was not the reaction Xander was expecting.
"What happened? Why are you back so quick? Knowing your person, I was expecting you back tomorrow?"
"Oh come on!"
Without saying a word more, Xander brought his phone out and was silently videoing his friend.
"What was her reaction like?"
"Oh, she was okay, shocked and pleased in fact while someone else wasn't so thrilled."
"Huh, you are confusing me. What exactly happened?" Xander asked.
Jay straightened himself and walked over to sit on the cushion opposite Xander, giving Xander a better angle at his face unknowingly.
"It was like this," Jay started to say and his mind went back to what had happened.
**Flashback**
The minute he got to her condo unit, he rang the bell and waited impatiently for the door to be answered. His blood was rushing in his body and he could feel his adrenaline pumping so much in anticipation.
This was it.
Macy who was busy having her lunch looked over at the door and a frown appeared on her face. She was not expecting anyone today, so who could it be that was coming to disturb her peace? She thought.
By the time the second bell rang, Macy stood up from her chair and walked over to open the door.
As soon as the doors opened, she came face to face with two things. While one was a bunch of flowers, the other was a person, someone she had least expected it to be.
