Chapter 58 - Jenny's Discovery
*******
CHAPTER 58
~Warners Corporation~
In the big building of Warner's company, Jay sat down in his office contemplating his move and what he should do to get Macy's attention.
Even Xander had already advised him the whole thing still seemed frustratingly hard. Nevertheless, he understood one thing, he should and must apologize to her and start afresh with her.
He could already see that Xander and Jade's relationship 'friendship' in quote was blossoming well.
Never was Xander all too gloomy and having that kind of dullness that drowned someone's soul in his eyes.
He was now focused and full of life but occasionally he still showed his coldness and put everyone in line but that could not make him deny the fact that he had fallen for her completely.
After pondering on what he should do, Jay decided to get her a bouquet of different colours of roses and send over to her personally then apologize.
With his plan set in place, there was nothing that could ever go wrong now, was there?
He picked his car keys and phone then headed out of his office and walked out of the company. Just when he got to the entrance of the company.
Just when he got to the entrance of the company, he was greeted by a very beautiful presence, causing a lovely smile to form on his lips as he walked up to greet her.
"Hey, Jenny." He greeted, then leaned in for a hug. The girl in question smiled back at him and opened her arms to welcome his embrace.
Jenny was Sky's girlfriend and one that everyone knew Sky would do anything and everything for. The couple had been dating for years now and the trio knew her very well.
She had also been their childhood friend but she picked a liking in Sky and ignored the advances the others gave her and since then, she and Sky had become almost inseparable.
"Hey, Jay." She greeted back before pulling away from the hug. "Where is he?"
"Oh, I am not sure really. But I doubt he is in his office either way. He may be out on a business lunch or something."
<Author: Or something! Tsk *shakes head*>
"Is that so? He seemed to be pretty busy of late. We have barely seen each other. We are always missing each other."
"I am sorry about that. You can wait for him. I think he would return to the office."
"Nah, I am going to call him and find out where his business meeting is holding and wait there for him." Jenny decided and brought out her phone to call him.
"Nice. That's how baby Jenny. Not taking no for an answer." Jay teased her.
"Who said anything about a no, Jay?" She dropped her phone and checked the screen then dialed again. Her brows deepened into a frown and her once smiling face became marred with worry.
Jay noticing this squinted at her and gave her that questioning gaze. "What happened?"
She did not reply but tried to contact him again. "Did he busy your call or what?" Jay asked again.
"No. I t is not just connecting."
"Then that must be a network issue. Try sending him a message then."
"Good idea." She typed her message away while Jay was busy looking somewhere else then brought his gaze back to his watch. "What is wrong?" Jenny asked when she noticed the worried look on his face.
"Enh? What?"
"You, you seem troubled. Anything the matter? Are you in a hurry?"
"Me?" He pointed to himself with wide eyes before breaking off into a small laugh. "No, why do you ask that?"
"You were checking your watch."
"Oh, that. I t was nothing." She pursed her lips and looked at him quizzically. "Why are you giving me that look?"
"Jay, I know you. You cannot hide anything from me. Tell me, who is she? What is her name?"
"I…" He paused and stared at her with unbelieving eyes. "I never said anything about a girl."
"You do not need to. Your whole expression says it all. Tell me what is her name?" Her lips curved up as a smile spread across them, revealing her nice set of arranged teeth.
Seeing as he could not get out of this one lying, he finally succumbed to her whims. "Macy."
"Ahhh!" Jenny squealed, forgetting she was sad a minute ago. She was mega thrilled that Jay found a girl he liked.
It was not that he did not have that before, it was just that it was never anything serious.
He was a perfect example of a playboy. He never really stuck to any girl for long and would just move on to the next, dating them for their looks and figures, not because of who they were and their character.
And that too also ended up giving him just the kind of girls who were into material thongs and not what a real relationship entailed.
But just watching his actions, it seemed like his mind was drifting off even though he looked like he was present with her and the occasional sighs…
There was no doubting it. He really found a girl he liked so much. She was a lady as well so she knew.
"Calm it down, Jenny."
"No."
"Why?"
"Because you are falling hard for a girl. Yipee, I have long waited for this day."
"You say it like my mother, Jen. Tsk, it is not like that."
"So have you asked her out yet?" Jenny asked changing the topic.
"Nope."
"WHAT!" She could not believe her ears now. This was the almighty Jay that went for whatever he wanted at whatever time. Yet he could not ask a girl out.
Wow, just wow!
DING!
A message dropped in, distracting Jenny from her stunned state. She peeled her eyes away from him slowly and returned them to her phone screen.
"Oh, it is Sky. Apparently, he is having lunch with a business client."
"Oh, ask him where then."
"Way ahead of you," she said as her fingers quickly typed her message and she sent it. "Done." She looked up from her phone and back to Jay. "Tell me, why has the all-time playboy Jay not made the move yet?"
"I would if I had not seen you." Jenny raised her brows at him in confusion. Why was she to blame for him not making the move yet? How was it her fault for any of this?
"That does not seem plausible, Jay. Just hear yourself.'
Jay took a 360 turn and threw his hands in the air. "What I meant was that I was on my way to do that before running into you."
"Ohh… How long have you known her?" Jenny asked again.
"Umm, a couple of weeks."
She did not respond to his answer this time but rather raised her brows at him again. Giving the silent words of 'You were saying?' before relaxing her brows and folding her arms.
"Macy."
"I am all ears, Jay." She was grinning hard and leaving him speechless. That was when it hit him hard in his mind. He had just called her Macy.
"Damn it!"
"Relax. It happens. I would be Macy, for now, call her name all you want."
Ding!
"Oh." She returned her gaze to her phone screen. "I know where he is. McDawn's."
"Sweet then. I am guessing you did not come with your car because you thought you would meet him here?"
She nodded her head in embarrassment. "Yeah. I planned on going home with him after work to spend the weekend." Jenny confessed.
"Tsk, naughty you. Come on. I would drop you off. I still need to ask him one or two questions."
"About what?"
"Nothing." He smiled at her and they both started walking in the direction of his car.
"I know, it is about Macy, am I right?"
"I don't know what you are talking about." She hit him on his arm lightly. "Ouch."
"Silly, stop pretending. Anyways, ho is Xander?"
"The lovestruck baby?"
"What!"
"Wait, you didn't know?"
"About what?"
"Sky didn't tell you?" Jay was shocked that Sky never relayed the fact that Xander was falling for Jade to his girlfriend. It only showed how distant they had become and how much his own mouth ran.
"What?"
"Yikes. I am in a soup."
"What? Is Xander in love too?"
"Too?" Jay shook his head trying to focus on the main issue. "Do not mention this to Xander. Pretend you ever heard me say that."
"But I am sorry, I cannot reverse what I heard. And unfortunately for you, it has stuck in my brain like a magnet. I can't wait to taunt him."
"Macy," there was a warning to his tone and it only made Jenny giggle.
"You did it again. Aren't you such a cutie?" She stepped back for him to get the door for her before entering the car.
Listening to her, Jay sighed before rounding the car and entering the driver seat. He was going to suffer in Xander's hands.
