Chapter 60 - Fallen For Him
********
CHAPTER 60
"Jay," Sky stood up at once and looked at his friend. Both of their eyes held pain and mixed emotions in them.
Jay did not say anything; rather his attention was fixed on Macy and her surprised yet confused and understanding face as she watched Jenny run away.
Sky shifted his gaze and picked his car keys before chasing after Jenny, leaving Jay and Macy behind.
Macy followed him out with her eyes till he was out the door of the restaurant before trailing them back over to Jay who stood there, unmoving with the bunch of red roses in his hand.
Just before reaching the restaurant, he had seen a flower shop close by and bought it, together, Jenny and himself strolled the remaining few shops to McDawn's.
She had advised him to get a bouquet of red roses instead and waited for everything to be set before they left.
Due to that, he did not have time to keep the roses back and just took them with him to ask Sky about if he would be meeting Macy soon, so he could know her schedule and probably beg Sky to cancel his if they had an appointment.
Little had he known that he would be walking into a sight he would not want to see and break his already fragile heart.
"Am I not enough? Even now, don't you see me?" He had voiced that out absentmindedly and from his hurt but he said it in a low voice and Macy could barely make out what he said.
"Jay." She called out when she could not hear what he said. But judging from the roses in his hand and what had happened and his shocked expression, she could very much guess who those roses were for.
How he knew she was there, she had no idea.
Jay let his pain shine through his eyes, so Macy could see every meaning and feel in them before letting the roses drop to the floor and turning away.
"I guess I was too late." The words broke out of his lips as he walked away. They were louder than the first and Macy could hear them and tell the hurt that seeped out from them.
Macy stood up about to call him back but halted as Jay stepped out f he restaurant. Feeling her own hurt wash and overwhelm her, Macy fell back into the cushion as both hands moved up, rubbing against her hair and face.
She could not believe what just happened.
Her head was ij a mess right then and she knew she just did something very wrong.
Her heart clenched at the hurt she was feeling right now. She did not need someone else to tell her that the person she had feelings for belonged to someone else and she blew it.
"No, Macy why…"

Jenny did not wait back for anything and quickly found a cab and ran away before Sky could get to her.
By the time Sky got to where she was, the car was already gone and he stopped running raising his hand up to hold his forehead.
He knew he had messed up big time but there was nothing he could do to change the past. Not now, not ever. All he could do was move forward and beg her.
"Gosh! No," Sky yelled at the cars passing before turning on his heels and scurrying away to his car. Immediately the car started, he drove off after Jenny.
By now, Jay had rushed out as well and saw his friend's car leave. He felt a certain rush of adrenalin in his body and the urge to do something bad.
Things did get out of hand and he was pissed. Just like Sky, he still took off in his car and left, leaving Macy to herself and her tears or worrying heart.
The day had been ruined and all hope is gone!

It was later that Jade got to find out what had happened when her friend came over to her house looking all drained as though there was no more life force left in her.
She was shocked at first as that was the last person she was expecting to knock on her doors anyway.
She thought Macy would be busy having fun with Sky and not in the world would she have imagined for things to turn out the way they did.
"Macy, I am truly sorry for what happened to you." Jade tried her best to comfort her friend while pulling her body closer to hers for a nice hug.
Macy who was busy crying her eyes out, let herself freely fall on Jade's body, enjoying the comfort and the thrill it all brought.
"I did not know, Jade."
"I know, I know."
"I just did not know he was engaged. I never saw it coming that he had someone. I thought…" She continued crying at her stupidity.
"Macy." Jade tried to calm her down but nothing was working. She knew how Macy would be when she started blaming herself for something.
"I was so stupid to think such a handsome guy would not have someone in his heart and wait fr me. What a stupid fairy tale," Macy cursed and pulled away from Jade before looking her directly in the eyes. "I did wrong, Jade. I did wrong."
"Stop beating yourself up, Macy. I know you are hurt. It is funny how much you feel for him, Macy. You are hurt and all you could think about is how much you have caused trouble for him when you yourself are not in a good predicament as well. Tsk, what a naughty girl."
"Stop teasing me, Jade. I deserve all the harsh words there is right now. I should never have pushed through with the kiss. It just felt so right then."
"But now, not so much right?" Jade asked and Macy bobbed her head up and don, nodding at her. "I know dear. It is okay. Shit happened but we all come out of it, don't we?" Jade asked her.
"I do not know how to come out of this, Jade. On a serious note baby girl, your friend is stuck. I… I~" she sucked in a lung full of air, trying her best to ease her aching heart.
"Shh, let it go, baby. Sy it out. I know how you feel but you also have to let it out and get it out of your system. Macy, you are not a bad person."
To Macy, it was easier said than done. Jade was not the one in a mess, she was. How in heaven's name is she going to ever face Sky again?
Several thoughts began to cloud her mind and her judgment that it only made her head seem to buzz and a striking headache happen to her.
"Ahh!" She supported her head with both hands and rested back on her friend's body.
"You need to rest, Macy."
"I cannot sleep, Jade. I cannot. I think I have fallen for him."
"You think? Macy, you are in love with him. It is as plain as day. Too bad that Sky is already taken. His loss." Macy managed a fake smile at her friend, feeling like a little weight was taken off her shoulders.
She knew she would never feel the same after that encounter and that had only hurt her the more than it was supposed to. Her whole system knew it and so did her mind.
It was time to drop her last cards and surrender completely. She had lost the game before it even began. Sky was never free before and so she should not go about feeling hurt. It simply was not meant to be.
"Jade, just hold me close and do not leave me, hold me close all night. Give me the warmth I deserve."
"Sure baby girl. I would give you that and more hugs than you can think of. Come here you." She opened both hands wide apart to further welcome and accommodate her friend.
Macy cried for hours and finally closed her eyes which were now very heavy from the tears she had let to be falling free continuously.
Silently and ever slowly, Jade pulled away from her friend and gently laid her down on the bed alone before picking up her phone and exiting the room to make a call.
"Hello," her calm sweet voice seemed worried and troubled.
"Quinn. How is Macy? I heard what had happened. I am sorry about it all," Xander apologized from the other end of the phone.
"Nah, it is all good. She would get over it."
"Yeah, I hope so." He fell silent for some time. It was a little bit awkward but then again, he had missed her voice but did not know if now was the time to talk about such.
"No worries. How are you? You sound so tired."
Judging from how she spoke and the occasional yawn she let out, Xander could easily detect whether she was okay or not and what he could hear did not sound okay one bit.
