Chapter 1374 Just Wanted To See
Chapter 1374 Just Wanted To See
The time before the wedding of Shui Xian and Raelle passed too fast and it was only just a week before their wedding was supposed to be held. Shui Koshing had no idea what this couple was even up to. He had hardly been able to even see the two of them in the past month as they left home early in the morning before he woke up and came back late at night too.
Since they were so close to the wedding now, Shui Koshing believed it was time to sit down with Shui Xian and Raelle so he purposely waited for them to come back. So, when the two of them came back home, they found Shui Koshing nodding off on the sofa in the living room. Sharing a look with each other, they bother walked to his side.
"Bà, why are you sleeping here?" asked Shui Xian. "Don't tell me, you were waiting for us."
Shui Koshing yawned as he slowly opened his eyes and looked at the time. "Why are you both coming back so late?"
"Busy," answered Raelle.
"Why is work so busy all of a sudden?" asked Shui Koshing with dissatisfaction visible in his tone.
"Because we have to arrange everything before taking time off for our wedding and then our honeymoon too," replied Shui Xian.
Shui Koshing nodded his head in understanding, "You know I can go back to work to give you more time for your honeymoon."
"As much as I appreciate that, I'd still not want you to work. You are retired, remember? Just stay retired. Don't try to get back to work at every chance you get."
"Xian is right," added Raelle. "You should not think about work. He can handle it."
"If you both say so then I won't talk about it," agreed Shui Koshing. "But you really have to take a break too. You both have been working over the weekends too. I can hardly even see you too."
"That's our bad," said Raelle. "We should have squeezed out the time to spend with you."
"No need to be so serious. It's not like you both spent too much time with me before this. It's just that we used to have two meals of the day together and I just got used to seeing a lively meal table. I can't go back to being all alone," told Shui Koshing.
"Bà, then wouldn't you be more lonely when we go on our honeymoon?" asked Shui Xian. "How about I call Amelia to come home? She'll keep you company."
"No, there is no need for that," said Shui Koshing.
"Why?" asked Shui Xian. "Isn't your relationship getting better now? Or is it still very awkward being alone with your own daughter?"
"It's nothing like that. I don't wanna burden her. I'm an old man who has nothing to do but she still is an ambitious woman. I wouldn't want her to leave everything and come home just to keep me company."
Raelle had a thoughtful expression on her face as she suggested, "Then how about you go to her instead."
"Huh?" Both Shui Xian and Shui Koshing gave Raelle the same look.
"Think about it. If Bà doesn't feel like being a burden to his daughter, there is no need to be a burden. He is right, Amelia has her own things to do as she is in the final stages of her filming too. She will take a break for our wedding and after the wedding, Bà can just follow her back to the filming set. Bà has never been introduced to the entertainment industry and he doesn't understand how Amelia works or what her work means to her either. Bà can take this chance to see what his daughter is so passionate about, what makes her happy, and also use this to understand her better. It'll help them in getting close too." n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Whose wife is that?" asked Shui Xian. "Oh, right. It's mine." He hugged her from the side saying, "As always, my wife is absolutely right. What do you say, Bà? Isn't this a good idea?"
"It really is," answered Shui Koshing. "Anyway, I have too much time on my hands and I don't even know what to do with this time. So, I can take this chance to bond with my daughter. I really never understood Amelia's passion for being a filmmaker. So, I should see her at work. Maybe, I'll have something new to learn. Besides, Fai says a film set has too many interesting things going on, I'm sure I won't be bored."
"You should stop listening to Hyson," was Raelle's advice. "Half of the time, he doesn't even know what he is doing or thinking. It's really dangerous for you to listen to him in everything or take everything he says seriously. He doesn't even take himself seriously."
"You can stop roasting him just because he isn't here," said Shui Xian. "Bà, don't tell Amelia about this yet. Wait until you follow her and surprise her there."
"Hm... I also think surprising her would be better," agreed Shui Koshing. "I won't take more of your time now. You both must be tired. I just wanted to see you both since we didn't get to see each other in days and that's why I waited here. I'm going back to my room now. You both should do too. And wrap up your work soon. If I'm not wrong, Raelle said she wanted to take you to see the wedding venue before anyone else, right?"
Raelle nodded her head, "Yes. We'll be flying to Country G in three days from now."
"Isn't it your bachelorette party in three days?" asked Shui Koshing with a suspicious look.
Raelle shrugged, "But I'm not a bachelorette. And I never asked for a bachelorette party either. And I never said I'd be attending it."
Shui Koshing gasped at her answer, "You're gonna ditch them all? What about the effort they put into it all?"
"It's a fact that if I joined them, no one would be having fun. After all, I'm so boring."
