CHAPTER START---

"Did you mean what you said earlier?" Sero asks as the classroom begins to fill up.

"Which part?"

"About Star and Strip being able to beat you, I mean, you're pretty much invincible so did you mean it?"

Horizon shrugs, "Honestly, no idea. But it's the safe assumption, right?"

"How do you mean?" Tokoyami asks. "Isn't your Quirk the strongest?"

"Eh, it depends. See nobody even knows the name of her Quirk, much less what it does. But from what the public knows she seems to be able to manipulate the world around her somehow, but the limits and requirements are obviously unknown."

"So she could be stronger than you?" Sero asks. "Honestly it's hard to imagine anyone stronger than you, atleast since All For One is gone."

"Well, if the current me fought him from back then, I'd win, but it makes sense that Star would be stronger. She's the only other Mystery Class on the planet, and has the entire US military training her. An infinite budget and she's like 35, more experience.

Compared to that I've only had my Quirk for 11 years and mostly just trained at home, in a head-to-head fight she should win, atleast on paper. But my Quirk lets me do more miraculous stuff that doesn't involve punching villains, so I think it evens out."

"The operations and such," Tokoyami says. "I suppose in many ways you're much more of a boon for mankind than she is. It's been proven many times that punching out villains is useful, but people who can save lives in other ways are much more scarce."

"Exactly," Horizon says. "Especially when human anatomy and biology are constantly being bent and stretched because Quirks exist. Becoming a doctor is one war, then keeping up is a whole other."

"Meanwhile I struggle with algebra," Sero mutters. "Guess I'll stick to punching villains."

"Eraser is coming," Horizon abruptly says, and everyone gets to their seats, quieting down and facing forward.

Horizon just takes his feet off the desk but leans back in his chair.

And Bakugo is still missing, with his phone on his desk.

"Good morning students," Eraser groggily says as he enters, getting a chorus of responses from most of his class.

He glances at them while taking his place at the front, eyes lingering on Bakugo's desk for a moment before he just gives an annoyed sigh and continues.

"Alright, listen up, I've got some announcements before Snipe gets here for the first class."

Most of them stiffen up at that.

"Firstly, Mid Terms will be starting Wednesday and ending Friday. You should have already been studying so this shouldn't be an issue for any of you," he sees many students look worried at that announcement. "Because of this, Work Studies students won't be allowed to leave campus until Friday afternoon, we need you to show you haven't been slacking on your academics."

Horizon casually raises his hand.

"No, you cannot be exempt from the exams because we know you're a genius, some of them are practical not written."

Horizon lowers his hand, then as Eraser is about to speak he raises it again.

"No, you cannot take all of the exams in one day to get back to your usual schedule."

Horizon lowers his hand and just looks out the window, clearly annoyed.

"Right, now with that out of the way. To help you prepare, from today there won't be any after-lunch classes. Hero classes are postponed until next week, this gives you most of the day for your own study time.

I suggest you use it wisely to make up for any slacking off you would have done, I'm sure some of you failed to manage your practical hero work with your academics."

He looks around and notices many people trying to avoid eye contact.

"Please keep in mind that anything below an 80% overall grade means your Work Studies is postponed until your overall grade gets back up to that point. No exceptions will be made."

Most of them nod along.

"Right, now other issues, Yaoyorozu, Horizon," his eyes dart over to them.

He immediately notices the worried look on Momo's face, as if she'd been caught, a rosy tinge across her cheeks, her eyes constantly glancing over to Horizon.

Eraser immediately puts it together and just rolls his eyes, which Horizon notices and shrugs in response, leaving most of the class completely oblivious.

"You'll both be expected in the Student Representatives meeting room at 1 PM today, I guess it's time for the mid-semester meeting. These are held twice a semester, at the middle and the end, but last semester got a bit hectic so they didn't happen.

As the class representative and vice representative, you'll be representing 1A and its interests, this is where your classmates find out if their votes went to the right person or not."

Momo feels the weight of that responsibility on her, while Horizon just casually raises a hand.

"No, you cannot send Yaoyorozu to the meeting so you can skip it," Eraser Head says. "Your attendance, more than most, is mandatory."

Horizon lowers his hand, then raises it again.

"Yes, it is too late to pass your responsibility onto someone else, you being the Class Rep for 1A is a selling point for the safety of your classmates, especially since some of them don't have Provisional Licenses yet."

"I fucking hate it here," Horizon mutters to himself as Eraser Head continues talking.

And up at the front he senses Jiro giggle quietly.

Raising a brow he gets a bit curious, and focuses for a moment to sense one of her Earphone Jacks touching the metal of her desk.

"So are you always eavesdropping Jiro?" he whispers, too quietly for the people beside him to hear.

He senses her stiffen up.

"You can respond, just slowly mouth what you want to say."

He focuses on her lips with Scan, and senses her roughly saying, 'New, bad, habit. Sorry.'

"I can't say I wouldn't do the same, but I try not to be a total perv like you..."

'Shut, up.'

"You're lucky I think you're cute, but watch your mouth perv."

'Cute?'

"Come to my room later, I'll gladly explain..."

Horizon notices Jiro stiffen up at that, then turn around as Eraser Head is talking to steal a glance at him, then she looks past him at Momo.

'Your, girlfriend,' she mouths before turning back to the front of the room.

"Don't be stupid, and I'm sure Momo will gladly bombard you with details the first chance she gets."

'Later,' is all Jiro gives him before retracting her Earphone Jack.

'Did she just hang up on me...is that how this feels?' he can't help but wonder, all while everyone else is completely oblivious to the conversation they just had.

Toward the end of Homeroom, Horizon extends his senses, feeling Bakugo sprinting through the halls as he enters the main building.

'Huh, he got back here faster than I thought, not bad for what he's working with. Well, I guess I'll have to slap him around a bit this afternoon, should be a bit of fun atleast.

Then I'll have to actually figure out this whole...whatever the hell it is with these girls. Hopefully, the meeting after lunch doesn't take much time, then I can get some work done after dealing with Bakugo.

Training won't be on schedule since Sero and Shinso will be joining Momo's study group for midterms, but I should have some more info from Fatgum, Ryukyu, Nighteye, and Crust today to keep me occupied.'

Horizon leans back and relaxes in his chair.

'Never thought UA would be the relaxing part of my life, just sit back and take a nap during classes or scroll through my social media, spend some time with my girls, and beat down some cocky losers...it could certainly be a lot worse.'

He looks over at Jiro, 'oh but it'll get better...best to have some fun while I'm stuck in this place.'

CRASH!

The door slams open, and the entire class looks over to see a disheveled Bakugo with a sheen sweat over him.

"Monday morning and you're already a mess," Horizon taunts him, "get your shit together Silver Medal..."

"You ba---"

"Save it," Eraser Head cuts him off. "Just go get yourself cleaned up, classes are about to start."

Bakugo grumbles a bit, obviously fuming. Eraser turns to leave as does Bakugo, and through the windows into the hallway Horizon sees the boy staring at him.

So he just leans back, puts his feet up, and gives Bakugo the middle finger.

And a thought suddenly dawns on Momo.

'Wait, am I dating the class bully?'
