Chapter 376 - Jane The Pretender
She also realised that he couldn't stand on the leg he was hit.
"Max, take us to the hospital. His wounds need to get treated...,"
"Miss Naughty, that is not necessary. I am fine," Jackson who was in a lot of pain said so as not to make her worried.
"Say that one more time and it will be my turn to beat you up," Jasmine said coldly, her piercing glances directed at his face. Jackson kept quiet when he saw that his woman wasn't only angry but was deadly serious.
Max, left the attackers to the other five guys in his team. With the help of Jasmine, the two of them assisted Jackson to where he parked his car.
He immediately drove the couple to the most popular hospital in the city. When they reached inside the hospital Jasmine made sure Jackson was immediately attended to.
X-ray was carried out to see the extent of his leg and back injuries. During the X-ray, it was discovered that Jackson suffered damage to his legs but thank goodness the bones in his back did not get damaged.
After all the necessary tests had been conducted Jackson was admitted to one of the hospital VIP rooms. Although he wanted to go home Jasmine insisted he must stay and get treatments and there was nothing he could do about it.
Jasmine stayed at Jackson's side and attended to all his needs throughout the night.
The next day when people at the company learned that Jackson was hospitalised they had all planned to visit him at the hospital but Max advice made them reconsider their decision.
Instead of visiting him individually, they came up with sending a representative to relay their good wishes to their boss. Jane insisted on being the representative and no one was good enough to fight with her for that position.
During lunchtime, Jasmine was peeling an apple for Jackson when they both heard a knock at the door. At first, they thought it was the guys or the worried ladies but they realised that their guess was wrong when the visitor entered the room.
Entering the room Jane pretended as though she did not see Jasmine sitting at Jackson's bedside. She rushed to stand on the other side of the bed.
"Jack, how are you feeling? I wonder who is the unfeeling idiots who dared to do such a thing to you," Jane said, her eyes glued on the cast around his right leg.
"Hypocrite!" Jasmine muttered but in a tone loud enough for the three of them in the room to hear.
"What does your word mean? Are you trying to say that I am pretending to be concerned about Jack?" Jane asked as she glared at Jasmine.
"You said so yourself not me," Jasmine said as she passed the fruit to Jackson. The guy listening to the ladies conversation in silence refused to collect the fruit.
"I am sure you are the main reason why Jack got hurt badly so how dare you try to make me look bad in front of him?" Jane snapped rudely.
"If you didn't offend someone powerful would you have been those men's targets and would Jack have gotten hurt just to save you?" Jane asked failing to maintain her angelic appearance.
"How did you know that the men were after me and not him? And how come you are so well informed about the incident like you were the one who paid them to kill me?" Jasmine dropped the bomb and Jane's reaction wasn't so nice.
Jackson who was pretending not to hear their conversation turned and shot Jane a murderous glance when he heard Jasmine's words.
"Are you accusing me of hurting Jack? How dare you think I would ever hurt him. I love him...,"
"I know you wouldn't dare hurt him but I can't say that about myself. You take me as an enemy who stole something that was never even yours. As such I am sure you would do anything to eliminate that enemy, am I correct Jane Allen?" Jasmine asked her expression stern and momentarily deprived of emotions.
"Yes, I love Jack very much but I would never hurt you. I am not a bad person," Jane tried to defend herself.
"Let your conscience and the law be the judge of that and that is if you even possessed a conscience," Jasmine said rudely before she brought back her attention to Jackson.
"Jack, she is just accusing me because she is jealous of me. You know that I am not capable of hurting a fly not to mention harming you. I am innocent of all she said," Jane decided to play the victim.
She stretched to touch him but Jackson's murderous glance made her subconsciously retract her hands.
"From this day onwards never try to touch me without my permission or they will be consequences if you do," Jackson said before he brought back his attention to his woman. His expression suddenly turned soft like he was not the same person who spoke to Jane earlier.
"Feed me, my hands ached a lot. I guess the hit at the back must have affected my hands," Jackson lied just to make his woman feed him.
"Stop being a kid and eat," Jasmine said. The two acted like Jane staring there didn't exist.
"Jack, everyone at the company was worried about you so they sent me to check up on you...,"
"And now that you have confirmed that I am not dead, you can leave," Jackson said without even staring at the one he was talking to.
Jane clasped her fist to control her temper.
"Apart from the fruits over there I brought you lunch...,"
"Don't you understand human language or do you want me to repeat what I said earlier," Jackson said harshly.
"The doctors said he needed maximum rest to recover. Getting upset isn't good for his recovery so I advise that you leave now. Don't force me to do it myself," Jasmine said in an impolite tone. She brought back her attention to her man.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi darling readers, I wasn't supposed to upload another chapter today but I just recalled that I forgot to do the most important thing before the year ends.
2021 came with a lot of surprises be it good or bad. They were times I got so tired of everything including writing. The way my books were doing poorly despite all the time, effort and resources I invested in it made me lack motivation to do anything. This constant failure as an author almost made me give up on writing. The reason I wrote "MISSION XX: SEDUCING THE GREAT SEDUCER", was because my friend constantly kept encouraging me to do it despite how scared I was.
Although all these things happened I still think 2021 has been my best year as an author.
2021 brought me a lot of wonderful readers through this book and other of my books. I got to meet and befriend wonderful readers just like you. You guys might not understand how much this means to me but it's ok since I do.
Overall, 2021 was awesome and this was all because of my superb readers who showered me with their endless love and supports. The feeling that my readers will always get my back no matter what this 2021 made me so happy. It made me feel like I could fly and soar so high.
I wish 2022 will be more awesome than this. I wish all my efforts after all these years of being an author will pay off. I wish my readers will support and shower me with their love in 2022 more than they did this year 2021.
I also wish for all my readers to remain happy and healthy comes 2022.
Thank you so much, everyone, you have been more than amazing this 2021. I wish they are other ways I could show you all how grateful I am apart from writing it down.
A BIG SHOUTOUT TO ALL MY READERS!!! I LOVE YOU ❤❤❤
