Chapter 426 – Some Sweet Moments After A Stressful Day

"Hey, stop it or you will get punched in the face by Jack if you continue teasing him this way," Steve said as he nudged Jeff by the sides.

"I also had the same thoughts when I first set my eyes on her so I sort of agree with Jeff," Elizabeth said in a meek tone.

"Guys, that is not true at all. I missed Ice Prince a lot and it hurt me so much that I had to stay away from him but I had no choice but to eat and sleep well for the sake of my….," Jasmine paused when she realised what she wanted to say. She couldn't believe she had almost revealed the truth of her pregnancy to everyone.

Her perfect surprise was nearly ruined by her.

"Jasmine, why did you stop? Complete your sentence. We are all dying to know what happened," Evelyn urged her on. She was so certain Jasmine was about to say a very important thing before she paused earlier.

"Yeah, sister-in-law. We are all curious to know why you look so fresh and…,"

"I ate and slept well because I knew you all will nag me until I developed ear problems. Also, I knew Ice Prince will be heartbroken if he saw me in a terrible condition that is why I forced myself to live well," Jasmine lied without batting an eyelid.

"Was that really the reason?" Evelyn asked giving Jasmine suspicious glances.

"What other reason would I have had hmm Lyn?" Jasmine asked playfully.

"Whatever was the reason, we are glad you came back looking as fresh as you did when you left. I would have locked you up and fed you for an entire month if you had looked haggard," Catherine said jokingly.

The atmosphere at dinner was very fantastic. There were cheers and laughter here and there as they eat. None of them could resist their laughter. They were all so genuinely happy and their beautiful smiles showed it.

After dinner, Jasmine and Jackson decided to take a walk, unlike the other couples who had already left in their different cars.

On their way returning to where Jackson parked their car, Jasmine halted, turned and stare at Jackson.

"I am so happy today. I am so happy to the point that I can't find the perfect words to describe how I feel," The smiling Jasmine said while staring at his face.

"I am extremely happy too," Jackson said beaming. He raised his hand and pat her hair which had now grown longer than it was a month ago.

"Before it was always only me and Cat hanging out but because of you I have tons of friends….," Jasmine trailed still maintaining her charming smiles.

"Not just mere friends but amazing friends which I never thought I would have in my life…,"

"I also got to make friends with Catherine. Not only that, but I can now also brag about having a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law and this is all thanks to you," Jackson said as he pulled her closer.

"Apart from that, your entry into my life made me reunite with my sister. Having you in my life has been a very great blessing and I have this feeling that this year is gonna be superb. We are gonna be happier than we were last year…,"

"You are gonna also become Mrs Jasmine Jackson Smith this year too," Jackson said playfully as he embraced her tightly.

You are gonna get the shock of your life when you learned that you are gonna become a proud father this year. I can't wait to see your expression when you hear the good news.

Jasmine thought with a smile as she romance his back affectionately.

"Let's go back. I am afraid you might catch a cold if we continue staying out on the cold street," Jackson said letting go of her. He grabbed her hand and led her along with him.

When they reached the car, the considerate Jackson turned on the heater and made sure he strap the seatbelt for her.

"Ice Prince, mum and father didn't give you their permission today so what do you plan on doing now?" Jasmine asked curiously before Jackson could drive off.

"What else if not to show them just how persistent their future son-in-law is?" Jackson said beaming at her. He drove off when she didn't say anything but only smiled at him.

Unlike others who were doing perfectly well, the next five days wasn't very promising for Jackson whose invitation to meet Mr Avans got rejected thrice. His failed attempts to meet him outside his home or office wasn't even included.

Jasmine would have rained down brimstone if she had known what her boyfriend was passing through but thank goodness the smart Jackson didn't mention anything about what happened to her.

Jackson came back from the office and was surprised to meet Jasmine at home. It was just two days ago she resumed work so he didn't expect to meet her at home.

"Wow, you arrived home quite early," Jackson said walking towards the lady who was also approaching him.

"I didn't have too much workload because Cat was very efficient. She had already sorted out all the pending works before I returned to the office and that is why I could come home to you very early," Jasmine replied as she helped Jackson take off his black suit. She also collected his bag from his hand and take them to the couch.

"I am happy to hear that you are not overworking yourself," Jackson said sitting down on the couch. Just when Jasmine was about to sit on the couch too, Jackson pulled her to his legs. He made her sit on his legs.

"You look exhausted. Was workload too much? Do you need me to massage you…,"

"I am fine. But although I am fine you know I can never reject your massages," Jackson said playfully making sure to tickle her just to hear her sweet laughter.

"You are so silly," Jasmine said trying her best to control her laughter.

"I can be naughtier. Do you want to see it?" Jackson said flirtatious trying to kiss her. It was at this moment someone's dry cough interrupted their sweet moment.

"I am sorry. I didn't know boss had returned," Lilian apologise meekly and with her head lowered.

"It's ok Lilian. You didn't have to…,"

"You might be ok but I am not ok with her interruption at all," Jackson said glaring at the innocent lady.
