Chapter 428 – Jackson And Mr Avans In The Golf Course

"Uncle, I know I was wrong for asking Jasmine to come live with me but I really love her…,"

"Stop wasting your time here and go back to your company to do something productive," Mr Avans said as he walked past them. Jackson still followed Mr Avans despite the elderly man's warnings.

When they reached where Mr Avans is to play golf, Jackson kept his distance from the elderly man.

Mr Avans while playing golf acted as though Jackson didn't exist. When the elderly man ran out of balls Jackson began to pick up the balls for him.

"Aren't you tired of picking balls for the past four days? Is this perhaps part of your hobby?" Mr Avans asked coldly his eyes focused on Jackson.

"I can't afford to be tired just yet if I want to achieve my aim," Jackson said before he continued picking the balls.

"Jasmine will not let me have a peaceful sleep for a month or even more if she learns about this so come join me here. Let me see how well you play golf," Mr Avans said as he beckon Jackson to leave the balls.

If someone who doesn't know him closely heard his words they would think that Mr Avans is afraid of his second daughter when actually that wasn't the truth.

"Thank you, uncle," Jackson said smiling as he walked closer to where Mr Avans stood.

"Stop smiling because like I said I don't like you. I am only doing this for my peace of mind and sound sleep," Mr Avans said with a stern expression. He handed the golf stick to Jackson.

Jackson took the stick from him and took his position. As a businessman he was, he often meets client's on the golf course to discuss business so he knows how to play golf very well.

He has always been very confident about his golf skills but right now, he feels very nervous playing it with his future father-in-law.

"You are quite good. I guess your many years of being a businessman wasn't entirely wasted," Mr Avans said when Jackson hits the third ball into the hole.

"No matter how good I am my skills can't be compared to uncle's skill in golf. I will need to learn from you if I want to improve," Jackson said sounding very humble.

"He is such a sweet talker. I can see the reason why my wife supports him a lot," Mr Avans mumbled as he avoids staring at Jackson.

Jackson and Mr Avans took turns in playing golf. They played for over two hours before Mr Avans decided to call it quit.

Jackson who has never let Mr Avans off his sight, walked up to the man before he could enter the car.

"Uncle, let me treat you to a cup of coffee at the cafe…,"

"My wife is waiting for me to have breakfast with her. I don't have the luxury to have coffee with you," Mr Avans said before he entered the car.

Jackson could do nothing other than watch the man's car drive away. He left for the office after leaving the golf premises.

He didn't forget to call his woman when he reached the office so she won't be worried about him.

Later in the afternoon, Jasmine was about to wrap his work up so she and Catherine would have lunch together when her cell phone dinged.

Seeing that the sender was Jeff, she quickly views the message to see what it was. Jasmine raised her gaze to steal a glance at Catherine after she has read Jeff's message. She was caught by Catherine staring at her.

"Why are you staring at me like that? Is the message from someone I know?" Catherine sorting documents out at the centre table asked curiously.

Pretty Boy's message clearly said I shouldn't let Cat knows that I am meeting him so I need to keep it a secret. I am sure he must have his reason for asking me to keep meeting with him a secret from Cat.

Jasmine thought still glancing at Catherine. She tried to come up with what to tell Catherine so she won't get suspicious.

"Cat, I am meeting someone in a few minutes. I am sorry I won't be able to accompany you for lunch as we had planned," Jasmine said deliberately not mentioning the name of the person she was meeting.

"Work comes first before any other thing so you didn't have to apologise…,"

"For me, work doesn't come first so don't say such a thing like that ok," Jasmine corrected in a calm tone.

"Ok," Catherine said before she went back to what she was doing. Jasmine hurried to wrap up what she was working on so she won't arrive late to her appointment with Jeff.

When she was done, Catherine was still working despite that it was only ten minutes to lunch break.

"I will be leaving now but I will make sure to come back early. Don't forget to go out for lunch. I will be so angry if I learned that you didn't go out for…,"

"Stop nagging me and go. I will try my best not to starve myself like you normally do," Catherine said in a playful tone.

"I have changed so what are you talking about?" Jasmine said beaming as she pretended not to know what Catherine was talking about.

"You sure have changed a lot after you returned. I can hardly recognise you anymore," Catherine said jokingly. Her jokes caused Jasmine to laugh.

"Bye…," Jasmine said before she left the office with her handbag and black jacket in her hands.

The cafe Jeff choose as the venue for his meeting with Jasmine was fifteen minutes away from Jasmine's company. He deliberately did not choose nearby cafes to avoid running into Catherine while he was talking with Jasmine.

Jasmine arrived in the cafe ten minutes to the time they had agreed on and surprisingly Jeff was already there when she arrived.
