Chapter 204 Opportunity
'The more I think about it, the more confusing this situation is, as I never heard of any grudge between the Italian Mafia and The Gedeon Family nor in-game or in the real world, which means it is a work of individuals in power within those families,'
Alex understood that the Agostino Bernardo family and the Death Traders were just pawns being used by someone of authority in the Italian Mafia and The Gedeon Family to force Twilight Embers school into submission.
'What does Twilight Embers school have that is making two individuals of power take such drastic measures,' Alex thought, going down the rabbit hole of curiosity.
'It doesn't matter what the school had to offer as I don't need it, and more importantly, I already have too much to deal with in the coming months to add more time-consuming tasks to my already busy life,' Alex thought, deciding not to get involved.
"Eagor, I don't know if you understand this or not, but the real perpetrators of your school situation are individuals of power in the Italian Mafia, and The Gedeon Family, and dealing with those families is no easy task,"
"The Organization can deal with them, but you will need a second Grade Wish for that to happen," Alex said.
Alex decided to tell Eagor that he needed a second Grade Wish for the Organization to solve his problem.
It would require months of hard work for Eagor to acquire the wish, even if he contributed massively, and this much time would be more than enough for the situation to get settled, saving Alex from getting involved with unnecessary trouble.
"Sir, Can we talk in private?" Eagor said after staying silent for a few seconds.
"Let's go outside," Alex said as he walked toward the door.
Eagor followed Alex outside the training chamber, and after seeing that no one was in the corridor, he visibly took a deep breath and started talking.
"Please accept this contract," Eagor said, displaying a contract on a holographic screen.
Alex read the contract terms and was a bit surprised by the conditions as the condition stated that everything he was about to hear from Eagor he couldn't share with anyone outside of his organization, and before he shared the information, he needed to make them agree to the same contract.
Alex had no intention of getting involved with the Twilight Embers, but he was interested in knowing about the situation, and seeing no problem with the contract, he accepted it.
"After the government revealed the truth about the Ancient World, more than a thousand of my brothers and sisters joined the game, and to this day, 21 have become [S] Rank legacy holders, 3 have become [SS] Rank Legacy Holder, and 1 have acquired a [SSS] Rank legacy,"
"The information about one of my brothers being a [SSS] Rank legacy holder is only known to very few key individuals of power, but for the others, even the low-ranking organization know about them,"
"In outsider's eyes, the two families forcing us to pick a side because of the value of talented students of my school, but that is just partially the reason for them to threaten us with our lives,"
"One of My Sisters has received a Legendary Grade Quest, and the reward is a City Establishment Token of Large scale with no restriction on the location, meaning it could be built on any place on the human continent,"
"This is the real reason why those two families are using their pawns to threaten us or, more accurately, my sister into submission,"
"Both families are unwilling to back down or share the rewards of my sister, and the other reason they went as far as threatening to eradicate us is to make sure we don't spill the secret and attract other real-world giant's interest," Eagor said and went silent.
'If it's a City Establishment Token with no restriction on the area, then it makes sense for the two giants to take such measures, and now I also remember where I heard the name of Twilight Embers,' Alex thought as he closed his eyes to sort out his old memories.
Any big guild with manpower and money could create a city by buying a piece of land and pleading a yearly tribute to the kingdom the city was located in, but it would still stay an unofficial city and would receive no protection from the said kingdom.
The city without protection would be a target for bandits, and no NPC residents would risk staying in such a place while no merchant do business in an insecure place with no population resulting in the city not lasting even a few months.
On the other hand, A official city will have protection from the kingdoms, will have the authority to hire a private army, the NPCs will flock to it, and so will the merchants, and all in all, even a small city will become a money-printing machine.
'The new guild that rose to the top ten guilds Ranking in just two years (Tainted Vanguards) its first division was named Twilight Embers,'
'Tainted Vanguards had control over a large-scale official city that was their biggest source of income, and if I have to make a guess, the guild was controlled by the Italian Mafia,' Alex thought, connecting the dots as he remembered some useful information.
'The Twilight Embers school is very valuable, but the question is, is it worth the trouble I will need to go through to solve the problems surrounding them to get them on my side,' Alex thought, reevaluating his decision.
'The Twilight Embers division was the backbone of the Tainted Vanguards guild, and taking them for myself would be great but taking them from the jaws of two predators will be extremely hard, if not impossible,'
'Let's ask Badger to do some digging and find out who is involved, and then I will decide if the Twilight Embers school is worth the trouble,' Alex thought.
After remembering about the Twilight Embers division and hearing of the current achievements of the students, Alex again reevaluated his decision and decided to put some effort into taking them for his organization.
'He is not only talented but smart,' Alex thought, looking at Eagor, who stood calmly before him in silence.
Alex understood that Eagor told him everything, hoping that if the organization was what it was being portrayed as, then a new influential giant would join the competition for their school, forcing the two families to change their ruthless approach.
If the Organization was just talk, then Twilight Embers School would lose nothing because a contract was binding Alex stopping him from spreading the information.
"Eagor, I will tell your situation to the higher-ups, and as for what you decided to choose between the wish and shadow points for your reward, you can inform me privately through the member chat," Alex said as he walked back into the training room.
Alex picked six members to manage the players who failed to advance the Rank promotion with the hidden class by offering them 10% of what every individual under their management would earn in a month in shadow points.
Alex then answered the questions the members had before he took his leave and went back to the hotel room to freshen up and wait for the time of his meeting with Vlad and Badger.
