Chapter 66 Commander Scott
Unable to get a status screen of Commander Scott, Lei Zhen knew that Scott must have a skill that can conceal his information.
Although it wasn't unheard of and was actually well-known to most Magnolia players given that the game had been out for 4 years, he still couldn't help but be frustrated by the circumstances.
He just wanted to have a peaceful life and earn money through live-streaming. Yet his career didn't even get to kick start before he was thrown into so much nonsense.
"I'm probably the unluckiest person in this world." Lei Zhen sighed, holding up his staff and casting [Stun] directed at Scott.
Unfortunately, even with his prediction of movement, Scott's speed was too quick.
It was as easy as breathing for Scott to casually dodge Lei Zhen's skill and deflect the incoming strike from Kate.
"Princess Kate, it seems like you still need to work on your sword art." Scott taunted, swinging his sword in a downward fashion.
"Tsk, don't underestimate me too much," Kate hissed coldly, raising her sword to deflect his strike.
CLANK!
The impact of the strike caused Kate to retreat a few steps back, her hand trembling slightly from the sensation.
Although Scott's strike seemed to be a simple and basic move, it was actually a strike that was filled with mana. In addition to that, it was the years of experience and training that Scott had as a commander of the imperial guard.
"Let's make things simpler, Princess Kate. I don't really wish to harm you so long as you agree to come with us. We can promise that you won't be harmed by a single hair if you and your companion drop their weapons and surrender." Scott said in a magnanimous tone.
"Hmph, save your fakery words for somewhere else." Kate spat, not even bothering to listen to his nonsense.
If he really didn't have any intention of harming her, then he wouldn't have tried a sneak attack tactic.
Kate was sure that he didn't want to continue to fight because he was wary of Lei Zhen's skill and the unknown Chris.
After all, Chris and his two mounts managed to hold their footing and prevented the imperial guards from even advancing toward them.
"I wanted to save you some dignity, but I guessed you are really different. I'm being generous enough to offer you a leeway and you still choose the death way."
"Then come and make your move, Commander Scott. I'll show you why you are always beneath Robert Knightman." Kate smirked and made a gesture with her hand to tell him to come.
pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ Meanwhile, Scott's eyes turned cold at the mention of Robert Knightman coming from her mouth.
"Then so be it." Scott hissed and suddenly vanished from his position.
However, Kate was unfazed and raised her sword 40 degrees to her right side, blocking the incoming strike from Scott.
Unlike the previous time when she was knocked back, Kate managed to control her strength by utilizing mana to withstand the strike.
"Tsk, have a try of my Vortex Slash!" Scott clicked his tongue and brandished his sword. His sword turned brightly and he began to swing his sword in a weird motion.
A powerful wind current was soon created, and it was a vortex that had blades swirling around.
The ground beneath him started trembling due to the wind current, and Kate had to blink her eyes a few times to avoid the flying debris.
"Haha, prepare to get sliced and diced into a meat grinder paste." Scott laughed wildly.
However, before he could even continue his laugh, his body suddenly stopped moving, almost as if his body's control was temporarily disabled.
"I'll say… are all villains this naive or what? What makes you think I'm just going to stand here in a daze and wait for you to finish your move?" Lei Zhen's calm and collected voice echoed on the road.
He was holding a contemptuous expression at Scott, almost as if he was looking at a naive child.
"You want to use a powerful move, right? Did you ask for my permission yet?" Lei Zhen asked again in a cold tone. This commander Scott ticked him off when he went off to make some monologue of himself, declaring victory.
Like who the hell does he think he is?
"And you Kate, what the heck are you doing? Waiting for him to finish making his big move like some gentleman? Go attack him now that he's immobilized." Lei Zhen turned toward Kate and scolded her harshly.
This was a battle of life and death situation, so why would he not take advantage of every opportunity.
"R-Right.." After getting scolded by Lei Zhen, Kate hurriedly dashed forward and swung her sword.
"No, don't do it!"
A horrified look occurred in Commander Scott as he watched Kate swing her sword horizontally on his neck.
Just like that, Commander Scott was able to see his lower-half body in full resolution before realizing he had been decapitated.
His head rolled on the ground for a few seconds before stopping in place.
As for the imperial guards that were still busy trying to capture Chris and his mounts, they were all stunned. Speechless, they couldn't believe what their eyes had just witnessed.
Their strongest commander was actually decapitated in such a short amount of time since the fight had begun.
How anticlimactic was that?
Though, the person that was shocked the most was none other than Kate.
"I-It was just that simple?" She muttered in disbelief, turning around, only to see Lei Zhen casually walking past her and began to loot Commander Scott's body.
"What are you looking at?" Noticing her intense gaze, Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"The loser's loot naturally belongs to the victor." He added. Given that Scott was dead, it would be a disgrace to not loot the body of a Commander.
Who knows how many good items he might scavenge?
"Yes, but that's…" Kate started stuttering in her speech as she was confused, unable to respond to Lei Zhen's words.
She had won the battle, but it didn't feel right.
