MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1155 Stating the Obvious

1155  Stating the Obvious

"Alright." Seeing that everyone was more than eager to hear the continuation of his explanation from earlier, Scho'doxa faintly smiled as he opened his mouth. "I'm sure everyone here's curious as to what I meant by my earlier words."

Receiving a plethora of nods from almost everyone in response, the man nodded back as he let out a slight chuckle. "You might be wondering… why did I deliberately act mysterious in regards to how the fifth round would work?"

"Well, recall what you're participating in," said the man, causing some to ponder over his words for a bit.

Of course, Scho'doxa meant the question rhetorically. "If you've forgotten after being here for quite some time, I don't blame you. It has been a week and a half since the Rise to Prominence tournament began, after all."

At the man's mention of the tournament's name, it was as if a switch had flicked on in some of the people's minds, causing their eyes to widen as they had a rough idea of what was going on.

As for Valyr, who talked about his speculations on what the final round would be with Mystia and Riekan, he instead had a faint smile on his face after listening to Scho'doxa's words.

'It seems like my thoughts were correct.'

Just like what Valyr explained to the two while they were resting up for the fifth round, Scho'doxa went ahead and told everyone that the fifth and final round of the tournament was nothing more than an actual tournament.

Unsurprisingly, many people reacted to that reveal, with a considerable number of them voicing out the fact that there were still over 2,000 people remaining on the field.

With a such massive number of people participating in one tournament, it wouldn't be surprising if the amount of time it took was far longer than it took for the first round of the tournament to finish.

And that was considering the fact that all they had to do at the time was stand and get verified.

Naturally, Scho'doxa thought about the fifth round from that perspective as well, even going so far as to tell everyone outright that it would take them over a week to complete the tournament if it all 2,000 plus people would participate.

However… what if the tournament was split up into smaller tournaments?

"For the sake of efficiency and equality, I've eventually come to the decision to split the fifth round into three smaller tournaments," said Scho'doxa, his words prompting everyone to listen to him.

"Aside from that, I'll be splitting up the small tournaments into three even smaller tournaments, with each tournament for each class rank focusing on a certain level of strength." n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"To sum things up, there will be nine tournaments in total, with the first tournament being made for those at the early levels of Rank 4," said the man to everyone. "Then, the next tournament would go up by a stage, allowing the last tournament to be among those at the peak of Rank 6 and above."

"I suppose we're all clear on that?" As these words left Scho'doxa's mouth, a great majority of the people on the field nodded in response, working under the notion that the tournaments would be more or less the tournaments they were familiar with.

Then again, there were also those who asked the man for more clarification on how the tournaments would work, whether it be to err on the side of caution, or because they hadn't participated in an actual tournament yet.

Surprisingly, Scho'doxa did not hesitate to answer the questions those people had, causing some people to recall about how the man would punish them for asking him questions before he'd given them the opportunity to ask.

In response to those gazes, the man slightly shrugged his shoulders before telling everyone that with what everyone on the field had gone through so far, they've more than earned the right to freely ask him questions in regards to the tournament.

Because of that, almost everyone on the field felt more confident and proud of themselves as the man began to set up the venue where the final round of the tournament would be held.

Swoosh!

Swinging his arms to and fro, Scho'doxa infused both of his arms with energy before beginning to move them in a way that resembled his movements in the previous round.

However, rather than turn one massive arena into a thousand floating platforms, the man's movements instead began to merge the platforms together, transforming them into nine massive platforms with such ease that many were left at a loss for words.

Though, just as everyone thought Scho'doxa would start the fifth round the moment the nine platforms were made, he took his manipulation of the ground one step further, curving the edges of the platforms upward to create walls that resembled that of an arena.

And thus, by the time Scho'doxa was done, nine massive arenas began to hover from afar, prompting almost everyone on the field to stare at it with their mouths agape.

Whoosh!

Feeling a bit of exhaustion from manipulating a ton of mass for quite some time, Scho'doxa took a bit of time to catch his breath before announcing that the fifth round had officially begun.

Waving one of his arms after that, he then teleported everyone on the field to their respective tournaments before summoning eight more copies of himself that would preside over the other arenas.

Swoosh!

Having prepared himself to fight the moment he was teleported into his arena, Valyr immediately stopped gathering momentum the moment he noticed that he wasn't at the center of the arena.

Instead, he and the other people that were at the same rank were instead teleported into a waiting area that led to the center of the arena.

"Starting the first round of the Peak Rank 4 tournament." Just as everyone within the tournament looked around their surroundings to understand what was going on, Scho'doxa's voice soon began to echo throughout the space.

Fwoosh! Fwoosh!

Then, without much delay, two of the people within the waiting area were teleported to the center of the arena, causing a hint of surprise to appear on the faces of those who weren't chosen to do the first fight.

At the same time, everyone now fully understood how the entire tournament would play out, prompting everyone to prepare their bodies and minds as much as possible in the off chance they'd become the next ones to appear at the center of the arena.

And with that, the fifth round began in full swing.

Bang!

Whoosh!

Crash!

Knowing that one false move was more than enough to decide whether one would reach the end of the fifth round or not, it went without saying that almost everyone in the nine arenas gave it their all when they fought against their opponents.

Of course, almost everyone within the arenas came to a tacit agreement that there would be no killings happening, considering that it was their circumstances that forced them to fight people they didn't know in the first place.

Unfortunately, just like the fourth round, there were still those who had no qualms in killing other people, whether it be from the other races or from the same race as them.

With those kinds of people, almost everyone within the arenas also came to a tacit agreement that should they fight against them and have more than enough strength to subdue them…

Then it was only right for those people to receive their just deserts.

Swoosh!

Unsurprisingly, as someone whose level of strength far exceeded the peak of Rank 4, it was no surprise that Valyr easily cleared through all of the fights that he had go through, with most of them being settled within a few moves.

Then again, there were also those who put up a longer fight against them due to the fact that their strengths also more or less transcended the peak of Rank 4.

However, compared to Valyr, whose strength allowed him to deal even with beings at the peak of Rank 6, their greater strength only seemed like a slightly bigger resistance to the obvious conclusion of their tournament.

Which was the fact that he became the final victor of the Peak Rank 4 tournament.

"Say…" Just as Scho'doxa announced to everyone within his arena that he was the grand winner of the Peak Rank 4 tournament, the man leaned a bit closer to the young man as he asked him in a whisper, "Are you up for a bigger challenge?"

At those words, Valyr raised his eyebrow in curiosity. "Is this optional again?"

"Of course it is." Scho'doxa nodded. "However, unlike the last time, I've also given this opportunity to the victors of the other tournaments."

"Is that so?" Hearing that, the gears in the young man's mind began to turn, prompting him to come up with a couple of ideas on what Scho'doxa was about to offer him.

Fortunately, his ideas more or less lined up with what the man had to say. "So, how about it? Wanna try your hand at fighting against the victor of the Early Rank 5 tournament?"

"In exchange, I'll improve the reward you get from this round, similar to what I gave you to the third round."

"Sure." Valyr immediately nodded without hesitation, more than confident that his strength would be able to bridge that gap. "Though, what would happen next if I were to defeat the person?"

"Either you forfeit and I give you the reward," replied Scho'doxa. "Or you decide to continue on fighting the victor of Mid Rank 5 tournament and I increase the reward even further."

"I see." Hearing those words, the young man briefly let out a chuckle as he began to grin.

"Now that's interesting."
