Tan Rou agreed with his plan, but still she mercilessly said, “You want to retire? Wait another thirty years, until after I retire. Then you can retire.”

They were both joking. Tan Rou needed Hang Wei to help her manage the company’s other projects, and Hang Wei needed the job. His twins were at an age where they needed a lot of things, so he had to work even harder.

After the jokes, it was time to discuss serious matters. The two talked some more, finalized all the arrangements for the opening ceremony, and then went back to their respective tasks.

The opening was set for July 2nd. Before then, Tan Rou had also posted some ads online and placed advertisements in the Capital Daily. She had promised the elderly, so she would not go back on her word.

The night before, Tan Rou returned to her family home. She needed to inform her family to come and support the event the next day.

“Oh dear, what should I wear to the opening ceremony tomorrow?” Mother Tao was very nervous. “Tan Rou, you should have told me earlier. If you had, I could have had some new clothes made.”

Tan Rou said, “Mom, whatever you wear looks good, and besides, the focus tomorrow is not on us, it’s on the products that will be showcased. So, you don’t need to worry about what to wear.”

Mother Tao fretted, “But it’s your mall. I need to be there to support you. If I don’t look good, people will certainly laugh.”

However, Father Tao said, “Tomorrow, Ah Zhi will be representing the Tao family at the ceremony, so what we wear won’t matter. It’s better to dress modestly and not steal the spotlight from the youngsters.”

Reminded by Father Tao, Mother Tao felt she was being a bit improper. “You’re right, dear. We shouldn’t be too ostentatious. If the reporters focus on us, it would steal the limelight from the young people.”

At tomorrow’s opening ceremony, everyone from the Tao family would make an appearance, including Old Master Tao, who rarely left the house. He was also eager to try out Tan Rou’s new portable automatic wheelchair, which he had heard was very convenient.

Tan Rou’s wheelchair was already in development, though it wasn’t designed for Old Master Tao because he had plenty of people to assist him and did not face mobility issues. It wasn’t made for Lan Ning either, but she just happened to be there for the wheelchair’s testing, so she became the first person to try it.

After dinner, Tan Rou returned to her estate to rest. She lay in bed looking at the ceiling, ready for everything, yet she still couldn’t sleep.

Eventually, Tan Rou decided not to sleep at all. She took a warm glass of water and walked to the balcony where there was an indoor garden. Although she hadn’t stayed there for a long time, the flowers were well cared for, many blooming and emitting a faint fragrance.

Tan Rou sat among the flowers, took a sip of the warm water, and then looked up at the sky.

It had been over five years since her rebirth. Her family was alive and healthy, and she had many friends who genuinely loved and cared for her. Most importantly, she had found love.

Thinking about this, she touched the necklace around her neck that Zhuang Liu had given her, which he had made himself. Although it was somewhat rough, she cherished it dearly.
