Chapter 170: The Heavenly One

Chapter 170: Chapter 170: The Heavenly One

After Alex's sparring match with Satoru Gojo, everyone in the Jujutsu world who had heard of Alex's name began frantically gathering information about him, eager to learn more about this so-called "Heavenly God."

The Big Three Families, being the most influential clans in the Jujutsu world, naturally had access to the best intelligence. They immediately began collecting every scrap of data about Alex.

Because of Alex, the Zen'in and Kamo families joined forces to pressure the Gojo family into a week-long negotiation.

The details of this negotiation were heavily classified. Other than the upper echelons of the Big Three Families, no one knew what was discussed.

After the meeting concluded, someone from the Gojo family arrived at Tokyo Jujutsu High to seek out Alex, hoping to convince him to acknowledge his familial ties and return to the Gojo lineage.

Alex, naturally, ignored them. Frustrated, the envoy grew increasingly aggressive.

In response, Alex silenced the envoy with a single slap, snuffing out his anger and helping him achieve a state of eternal stillness—death. This made it abundantly clear to the Gojo family where they stood in comparison to him.

After Alex eliminated the Grade 1 sorcerer sent by the Gojo family, they wisely stopped making further attempts to contact him.

Seeing Alex's complete disregard for the Gojo family, the Zen'in and Kamo families assumed he had no ties to them. Eager to win him over, they offered Alex immense wealth and rare cursed objects.

Alex accepted all their gifts but gave no promises in return.

When the two families realized they had been played, they joined forces with the Gojo family to confront Alex. However, Alex wiped out every single one of their envoys.

Following this massacre, the Big Three Families finally became docile. They publicly announced that Alex, the Heavenly God, was a permanent friend of their families.

Alex remained indifferent to these petty squabbles. He understood the nature of such people—they bullied the weak but submitted when faced with overwhelming strength. A single show of force was all it took to keep them in line.

Beyond the Big Three Families, Alex's name began to spread among rogue sorcerers and cursed spirits alike.

Among these groups, some rogue sorcerers dismissed Alex as overhyped, much like how some viewed Satoru Gojo. These individuals, eager to make a name for themselves, flocked to Tokyo with the intent of killing Alex and cementing their reputations.

Meanwhile, Alex's name also reached the ears of cursed spirits.

On the sunny beaches of Dagon's Domain Expansion cursed spirits often gathered in their free time. Among them, Kenjaku (inhabiting Suguru Geto's body), Mahito, and others were each holding dossiers filled with information about Alex, carefully reading through the contents.

Kenjaku set his papers down, took a sip of coconut juice, and remarked with a hint of admiration:

"Heroes in this world are as numerous as the grains of sand on a riverbank, appearing one after another.

I thought Satoru Gojo was already the strongest sorcerer in existence. Who would've thought someone even stronger would emerge?"

Having lived for over a thousand years, Kenjaku understood the nuances of the world and was well aware of Satoru Gojo's unparalleled strength.

In his eyes, Gojo represented the pinnacle of sorcerer capabilities. Yet Alex's existence shattered that belief.

What shocked Kenjaku even more was that, according to the reports, even Satoru Gojo couldn't last a few minutes against Alex in a fight.

Jogo, on the other hand, scoffed at the reports. Even when he first learned of Satoru Gojo's strength, he had dismissed him as nothing more than a showoff. He now felt the same about Alex.

"I'll prove they're nothing but inflated legends," Jogo thought to himself.

Still bitter about being stopped by Geto before he could confront Gojo, Jogo grumbled: "Suguru Geto, if you hadn't held me back before, I would've already killed Satoru Gojo!

Without him, humanity would've lost its strongest sorcerer, and no one could stop us!

But it's not too late. I'll find Alex and Satoru Gojo, kill them both, and then we'll launch our plan!"

Kenjaku chuckled, his emotions barely stirred.

Deep down, he looked down on these cursed spirits. Though their strength was decent, they completely lacked brains.

Satoru Gojo's title as the strongest wasn't just empty talk—it was earned, blow by blow, through countless battles.

Over the years, countless sorcerers and curse users had tried to make a name for themselves by challenging Gojo, only to fail miserably.

Most sorcerers didn't even have the courage to face Gojo head-on.

Even if all these cursed spirits were to gang up on Gojo, Kenjaku was certain they'd face crushing defeat. And if one of them dared to go alone, they'd be eliminated the moment Gojo noticed them.

If such was the case for Gojo, then there was no question about Alex, who could completely overpower him.

Kenjaku even doubted whether these cursed spirits had the courage to face Alex head-on.

If it weren't for the fact that these cursed spirits still had some use to him, Kenjaku would've been more than happy to let them charge to their deaths. But since they were valuable assets, he decided to offer some advice:

"No, Jogo, you've got it wrong. Satoru Gojo fully deserves his title as the strongest. And Alex? He's transcended the limits of a Jujutsu sorcerer—that's why he's called the Heavenly God.

You may not believe it, but don't gamble with your life.

If you insist on testing your strength against them, I suggest you start with Gojo rather than Alex.

That way, while your chances of survival are slim, they're not nonexistent."

Jogo almost laughed in disdain but held it back at the last moment.

Though he hadn't been alive for long and lacked extensive experience, he wasn't an idiot.

He recognized that Kenjaku's suggestion was the wisest choice. When it came to matters of life and death, it was better to proceed cautiously.

He snorted coldly. "Hmph. Fine. I'll kill Satoru Gojo first. After that, I'll deal with this so-called Heavenly God, Alex."

Kenjaku smiled faintly, though a trace of mockery flickered in his expression. "Then I wish you a triumphant return."

Beside them, Mahito couldn't contain his excitement upon learning that Jogo planned to confront Satoru Gojo. He cheered gleefully:

"Hahaha, this is going to be so much fun! I want in!"

However, both Kenjaku and Jogo flatly rejected his request.

Kenjaku couldn't afford to lose Mahito, who was vital to his future plans. Meanwhile, Jogo refused out of genuine concern, arguing that Mahito hadn't yet reached his full potential as a cursed spirit.

Hanami and Dagon silently observed the conversation without participating.

---

While Alex was busy "dealing with" the Big Three Families, Yuji Itadori had enrolled at Tokyo Jujutsu High. A few days later, Nobara Kugisaki arrived from the countryside. With that, all the first-year students were finally assembled.

Not long after, Satoru Gojo assigned the first-years a mission to exorcise curses at a school, intending it as training.

Alex, of course, knew what awaited them. He was fully aware that Yuji Itadori would consume a third of Sukuna's fingers during this mission, only to have his heart ripped out by Sukuna, leaving him in a state of pseudo-death. After making a small pact with Sukuna, Yuji would eventually return to life.

No one suggested Alex join this mission—they all understood that it was far too trivial for him to gain any meaningful experience.

So, while Yuji and the others went on their mission, Alex spent his time leisurely exploring modern society, indulging in food, drink, and entertainment.

Of course, all the money he was spending came from the "compensation" provided by the Big Three Families.

Holding a freshly bought ice cream cone, Alex was about to head to a movie theater to check out the films of this world when he suddenly noticed a lively commotion on the side of the road.

Looking up, he saw a banner written in Japanese: "Takada's Autograph Event!"

"Takada?" Alex rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "That name feels familiar... Oh, right, she's Tōdō Aoi's idol."

Since he was already here, Alex decided to line up, taking it as an opportunity to experience something unique to Japan.

Takada was quite a popular idol, so the line was long, stretching out ahead of Alex like a winding dragon.

Most people waiting were fueled by their love for Takada, while Alex's motivation was much simpler: he was bored.

At his current level of strength, a being capable of unraveling the mysteries of the entire universe with a mere activation of his domain, there was little that could genuinely pique his curiosity. Everything lay bare before him, ready to be understood and conquered.

But to know everything was to lose the joy of the unknown, the excitement of discovery. Without mystery, the world would be unbearably dull.

That's why Alex often chose to suppress his heightened senses, sealing away his omnipotent awareness in favor of finding small, fleeting moments of interest.

And now, here he was, a single-universe-level powerhouse, standing in line with ordinary humans—not because he needed to, but simply because it amused him.

Time meant nothing to him, so if it was wasted, so be it.

Before long, it was finally Alex's turn. Stepping forward, he greeted Takada in fluent Japanese: "Hello..."

The moment Takada saw Alex, she could tell he wasn't a fan. It was obvious from the lack of joy or excitement in his eyes.

Still, maintaining her professional attitude, she took Alex's hand and offered him her signature blessing:

"Stay strong, and always remember to be happy!"

Alex smiled and replied, "I will, thank you." n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

After meeting Takada, Alex found her to be a cheerful and cute girl, though she didn't leave much of an impression on him.

He had encountered countless stunning women in his lifetime—whether it was Catwoman, Natasha, Mystique, Nami, or Robin, they were all remarkable in their own way.

To most people, Takada might seem incredibly charming, but to Alex, she was just ordinary.

Still, he had to admit that playing the role of an average person and strolling through mundane human experiences had its own unique appeal.

As Alex left the venue, he spotted a tall, muscular man in the line—a figure he immediately recognized as Tōdō Aoi.

Alex didn't bother hiding his gaze, and Tōdō soon noticed him. Misunderstanding Alex's attention as a shared admiration for Takada, Tōdō gave Alex a hearty thumbs-up, flashing his white teeth in a dazzling smile.

Alex returned the smile with one of his own before turning and walking away.

It was clear that Tōdō Aoi hadn't recognized Alex's identity.

Alex continued heading toward the movie theater. The film had just started, so being a little late wouldn't matter.

However, as he passed a café, his steps came to an abrupt halt.

Running his fingers through his white hair, he sighed in resignation:

"Looks like I won't be watching that movie today..."

---

Inside the café, four figures sat in a corner booth by the wall, deep in conversation.

Suguru Geto was the first to speak, addressing Jogo: "So, you want to overturn the current balance between humans and curses?"

Jogo replied, "Something like that, but there's more to it."

He glanced over his shoulder disdainfully before continuing:

"Humans are full of lies. Their outward emotions and actions always hide ulterior motives.

But negative emotions—hatred, malice, the intent to kill—those are the undeniable truths!

We curses, born from those truths, are the real humans! The impostors should disappear!"

Suguru Geto didn't seem bothered by Jogo's extreme rhetoric and calmly responded: "And yet, right now, it's you who's being wiped out."

"That's why we're here—to ask you how we can defeat the sorcerers!" Jogo demanded.

Suguru raised two fingers.

"There are two conditions you must meet before going to war if you want to win."

"And what are those two conditions?"

"First, we must ensure that Alex and Satoru Gojo are unable to fight.

Second, we need to recruit Sukuna to our side.

I have a special-grade cursed object, Prison Realm, which can seal anything inside. Originally, I only had one. But with the appearance of Alex, I went to great lengths to create a second Prison Realm, one even more powerful than the first."

Just as Jogo was about to ask another question, the café manager suddenly approached their table and turned to Suguru, politely asking: "Excuse me, sir, have you decided on your order yet?"

Jogo, naturally irritated by the intrusion of a bothersome human, immediately tried to ignite the manager with his cursed flames.

But when he activated his cursed energy, the manager didn't react. It was as though the curse had been nullified!

Suguru noticed this as well, his expression growing serious as he stared at the manager.

'Could this manager secretly be a powerful sorcerer?' Suguru wondered.

The manager, sensing their odd stares, checked his clothing for stains or rips and asked, confused:

"Is something wrong, sir? Did I do something to offend you?"

Jogo continued trying to activate his cursed technique, desperately attempting to burn the manager alive. But no matter what he did, his power seemed completely ineffective. Enraged, he decided to abandon curses altogether and simply crush the human with his bare hands.

But just as he moved, a lazy voice sounded beside him: "Ugly freak, I suggest you don't do that—unless you want me to get a little carried away and erase all of you in one go."

At that moment, all attention turned to Jogo's side, where a hand had appeared on top of his head, effortlessly sealing all his cursed energy.

It was none other than Alex.

The reason Jogo couldn't activate his curse was that Alex had completely suppressed it.

Suguru wasn't shocked that someone could subdue Jogo—after all, Satoru Gojo could easily do the same.

What truly stunned him was that until Alex spoke, none of them had even realized he was there.

They had no idea how long Alex had been sitting next to them, quietly eavesdropping on their conversation.

What kind of power allowed for such complete concealment?

This... this was the Heavenly One.

No matter how detailed the reports had been about Alex's strength, reading about it felt abstract, almost unreal.

But now, faced with Alex in person, Suguru and the others finally understood what the name truly meant.

At that moment, only one thought echoed through their minds:

"We're doomed, doomed, doomed, doomed, doomed..."
